It’s Sporty Boa here to recap what’s been another memorable Poppies awards show and PHB birthday party. The Poppies are our annual community awards event, where we celebrate Poptropica, the PHB, and the community as a whole. We thank all who nominated, voted, and celebrated with us! 🥳
It was a pleasure to announce this year’s winners alongside my brother and co-host, Fierce Flyer, as well as fellow PHB authors Gentle Dolphin, Lucky Joker and Slanted Fish via our YouTube livestream! If you weren’t able to catch us live, you can hear the full recording down below:
Without further ado, let’s recap and take a look at our official Poppies 2019 award winners and runner-ups! (You can find the full breakdown of the results in our livestream slideshow.)
Gameplay Awards
- Funniest Character: Crusoe from Monkey Wrench Island (runner-up: Balloon Boy, who first appeared in Counterfeit Island)
- Worst Character: Christopher from Vampire’s Curse Island (runner-up: Ned Noodlehead from Super Power Island)
- Most Underrated Island: Ghost Story Island (runner-up: Night Watch Island)
- Most Overrated Island: 24 Carrot Island (runner-up: Astro-Knights Island)
- Best Store Costume: Rockstar (runner-up: Prom Queen)
- Cutest Pet: Puppy (runner-up: Kitten (it was really close!))
- Best Sidekick: Merlin from Astro-Knights Island (runner-up: Sprocket from Steamworks Island)
Community Awards
- Popular Poptropican: idk the glitcher (runner-up: Skinny Moon) (Thanks to idk, we were able to party in Multiverse rooms despite the feature being removed from Poptropica earlier this year!)
- Best Fan Art of 2019: “His Universe” by pinklasgne (runner-up: “Poseidon’s Throne Room” by ray-of-flight)
- Best Fan Video of 2019: “Poptropica Animations” by Prickly Penguin (runner-up: “POPTROPICA: The BEST online game” by Diamondbolt)

Nice post, SB! I had lots of fun. (Especially when we got into the multiverses.) It’s kind of depressing to see how small the amount of people actually attended the party, but we still had a great time. Happy 11th, PHB!
MM. To put into perspective on how small the amount of people were at the party, I don’t think there were a lot of times when the Discord chat said “several people are typing” 😦 compare that to the summer kickoff party and the poppies 2016 and ouch it hurts to see the Poptropica community slowly dying ;(((((((((((((
My thoughts on the winners (most of them):
Worst char. – I didn’t remember Vampire Curse that much, but I guess we can agree apon Ned…
Most under – I though plenty liked Ghost story
Most over – It got remade twice, got its own sequal AND a bunch of merch (balloons, costumes etc.
Cute pet – it’s debatable honestly
Best sidekick – Merlin is best robot boy. No questions.
Popular pop – they both deserve it

Unfortunately had to leave after the livestream. I’m happy I got in the top 3 in the art catagory. (I’m still shocked that I got nominated.)
