Racing to Witch Mountain and Multiverse!

in this post…

Poptropica brings out a new ad; Walt Disneys: Race To Witch Mountain. An awesome mini adventure about saving two aliens from captivity. We have even provided a video to help you.

Scary Tomato catches up with some new friends in the wickedly new Multiverse.

And we share with you some electrifying new glitches.

Race to Witch Mountain: advertisement game

There’s currently a new advertisement building for all ages, which you can find on Main Street on any island! This is featuring Walt Disney’s Race to Witch Mountain, and the game in it is pretty simple. Push the boxes onto a colored button (gateway switch), and the color’s gateway will be unlocked. Collect the key inside the gateway (there are 3 of them: red, purple, blue).

Watch out for security guards – try hiding behind the barrels so they won’t see you! A tip is that if you have the jetpack from Early Poptropica or the flying power from Super Power, use it!

The most interesting thing about this advertisement is the items we we recieve. Only one of the 3 cards says that its limited time only. What does this mean? Do we get to keep the costumes?

Here’s a video guide for extra help:

Multiverse Meet-ups!

Today I met some more people from the PHF chat! Turns out that I missed Dr. Hare’s visit at ASH62, but I still got to meet many others from PHB and PHF. Most of us were doing the jumping glitch on the top floor of the crystal cavern, with Shy Turtle (AKA Anti Super Grape) being the most enthusiastic of all.

Dangerous Claw (known as Johnmoo on PHF) was wearing his Medusa hair. Jumpy Coyote, Moody Skull and I were also crazily hopping about. Tiny Star (Happyflame on the PHF chat) and Bronze Scorpion were our audience, and they supportively stood around to watch.

And according to Johnmoo on the PHF chat, Dr. Hare had been seen earlier today carrying different items such as a fishing rod, toilet plunger, flower, and some Store items, but he kept disappearing from the room.

I was also informed by Anon8348 and Lazy Feather that the caterpillar in the Shark Tooth dungeon has returned! If you’re a fan of this creepy crawlie, why not go pay a visit? 😛

Electrify glitches!

Dark Purple Electrify

Golden Eagle recently informed us of a ”Dark Purple Electrifier” glitch, which you can get using the following steps:

  1. Put on the Gothic Cheerleader outfit on ENTIRELY (mouth, bangs, everything).
  2. Put on any colored Electrify. (Bought at the Poptropica Store for 250 credits!)
  3. Click on the Save and Quit button (log out).
  4. Log back in. You should have dark purple Electrifier!

Note: If you change your outfit, save and come back later, it will still be there. It will disappear if you change Electrifier colors, use Phantom, etc. Golden Eagle said that she once saw dark green Electrify, but doesn’t know how to get it at the moment.

Sparks

Moody Skull and Magic Storm also mentioned a ”Electrify Glitch” where the sparks do not have color!

  1. Use the ‘Electrify’ item.
  2. Land on the Ice Planet on Astro-Knights. (Coordinates are 73, 83)
  3. Jump into the water.
  4. Now you should have Electrify sparks without color!

Black Electrify

Young Skunk told us this: “I (Young Skunk), was just having a fun Poptropica day (partying) when after a while I logged off, now later I’m back on, & I’m electrified black!”

She sent us some photos of her partying in her friends’ Multiverse rooms, in which she was wearing the light green Electrify. The photo on the right shows what happened when she logs back in – black Electrifier?! Here’s a pic:

Btw: The August 2009 issue of the PHB’s Poptropican’s 911 newsletter will be out tomorrow!

The Store is restocking!

The Poptropica Creators will be releasing new items for the Poptropica Store every week during this summer! Incredible Fish got some cool pictures of the new Astronaut outfit that is currently in the Store for 75 credits:

The helmet’s lights will light up when you press the space bar. This is what the astronaut looks like when the lights are off (see left Poptropican)…

…and when it’s on! (Image below is from the Poptropica Creators’ Blog.)

Blog Post Title: Summer Store Fun!
Description: We will be releasing new store items every week during the summer!
For this week we’ve added two new items: Multiverse and a new Astronaut outfit.
As many of you know the Creators visted some or your Multiverse rooms. It was really cool chatting and battling with many of you, but sadly a few of you totally destroyed us at some of the games…Ouch!

Check out the post below to learn more about the Multiverse, a new dimension of Poptropica. Once again, I visited some more Multiverse rooms from PHB and PHF users! In Graham’s (Spotted Bubbles’s) Enchanted Forest room, I met Spotted Bubbles (Graham), and Curious Fang (known as Trusty Hawk on PHB). Graham left after awhile, but Curious Fang and I were still chatting with eachother when Dr. Hare, a Poptropica Creator, showed up!

Dr. Hare is the first Creator I’ve met so far, and I’m hoping to meet the rest soon enough! Hare has a 4-star battle ranking, and according to Curious Fang (who was dressed up in Binary Bard’s jester outfit but carrying a sword), Dr. Hare beat her in Soupwords and Paint War (but she beat him in Sudoku twice!). When I tried to Costumize him, it turned out only his teeth (with the big tooth sticking out) could be copied. We also chatted with the Creator, and he in turn asked us some questions. After some time, Dr. Hare Curious Fang had to leave.

Soon, however, someone else came in. I got to meet Green Seal (known as Sparkle Star on PHB and on her Poptropica Updates Blog!), and we had fun chatting and playing games like Paint War, which she won. Congratulations! When we met, Green Seal was wearing her pink Electrify, which you can recognize in the photos I compiled from my Enchanted Forest Multiverse adventure here:

Met Dr. Hare

I also met some other guys from the PHF chatroom in some Crystal Cavern Multiverses. (One of the pics below shows Graham, Curious Fang, and I in his Enchanted Forest, which I mentioned above.) Yesterday, I saw Zany Glove, Lucky Spider (MonkeyTacoz), Squeezy Monster (and his clone, Skinny Chicken). Maroon Fly, another one of Monkey’s accounts, also joined in later, and so did a jovial fellow named Happy Spider. (I also found out that Invisible Bean, who I mentioned in the post below, was also another one of Taco’s accounts!)

Today I met Shoeless Runner, Silly Owl (known as Incredible Fish), Short Sun (or Technonerd), Shy Turtle (”Anti SG”), and a few others at Incredible Fish’s Multiverse. Maroon Fly wandered in again, this time dressed as Pinocchio. We later all met up at the top floor to take a jumping snapshot – speaking of which, did you know there’s a glitch up there which lets you jump up and down nonstop? Try it!

Multiverse Crystal Cavern

Update: A few hours later, I met some more PHB readers in Skinny Snowball’s Enchanted Forest room! Congratulations to Speedy Hawk (who also tried to Costumize me!), Moody Wolf, Young Skunk, Trusty Bubbles, Green Sword (known as Bashful Octo on the PHB), Zany Thunder (also known as Poptropicalthunder), Dangerous Shark (accidentally got covered in the first picture, but I left some space for you on the side!), Friendly Hopper, Skinny Snowball (owner of this Multiverse room), and Nice Turtle! Here’s everyone I saw gathered at the cool room:

BMN63 Forest

Also, the bottom part of the Poptropica.com homepage has gotten a makeover! Thanks for the news, Lazy Feather. And apparently, Reality TV Island is missing from the game’s map now! Some think that the island is being abandoned like Monster Carnival Island was, and others think it means that RTV is close to completion, which would mean that this is temporary. We still don’t know for sure what’s up, but we all hope for the second option!

But part of the homepage update shows that instead of the RTV hippie asking you to sign up to be informed of TV Island’s release, it just says ”next Poptropica island”, and the picture has changed to an envelope. It looks like the Creators are ignoring the existence of Reality TV Island, which had been set to come out in summer 2009. What do you think is going on?

RTV Missing, Homepage Update

There has recently been a rumor about the caterpillar on Shark Tooth Island being gone. (For those who have completed the island’s quest, you’ll know what ‘caterpillar’ I’m talking about.) This caterpillar was formerly on one of the statues in the Temple Dungeon, and if you bumped into it, it would knock you over.

We can now confirm that this obstacle has been removed from the game, making it much easier to finish the island. Our Shark Tooth Guide has been updated to suit this change.

You may have noticed a change in one of our Poptropica Help Blog sidebar widgets. The ”Recent Comments” section has been updated, and now it will show the Wavatar of the commenter. We’re hoping that this feature will make it easier to recognize the person, since you might often remember a blog commenter by their picture. A Wavatar is the WordPress avatar of a commenter here, and it is usually randomly generated.

In other news: The competition for Grumpy Wolf’s Poptropica account will be hosted soon. More details will soon follow. By the way, we might be making a Multiverse room for the PHB!

Store

The New Dimension

The latest and one of the greatest updates is the new Multiverse item.

What is the Multiverse. The Multiverse is an item card that lets you create your own Multiplayer room where you can invite friends to join by sending them a special 5 letter code. The Multiverse card can be purchased from the Poptropica Store for 350 credits.

Image
This is a preview of how you access rooms with codes. ^The code is just a sample.

If you buy a multiverse card you will be able choose from many different themes for your room.
Big Brain Factory, Enchanted Forest, Techno Room, Sweet Tooth, Crystal Cavern.

Also there have been many reports of Creators such as Dr. Hare, Vlad the Viking, Binary Bard and Shark Boy roaming the new rooms. How awesome! Except we can’t customize any of the clothing but i would love to see one of them.

Keep in mind that the codes do not ”expire”. When the owner of a Multiverse room leaves his or her room, the room is no longer available to others until the owner returns to it.

I’ve been thinking and maybe The PHB can have a party in its own room.  We could try get the creators to join.

So without futher adiue,

Creators. If you are viewing this post we would like to invite you to one of our rooms or your rooms to party and play games. I’d love to take some pics with you guys.

*Scary Tomato takes over the second half of the post*

With the release of this awesome feature, I spent the day hanging out with many good friends from both the PHB and PHF! First, Codien (Massive Eel) and I visited Blue Bee in his Sweet Tooth room. We were also at the PHF chatroom at the same time, and Lazy Feather and MonkeyTacoz (Lucky Spider) invited us to a Techno Room. Lazy Feather tried to make his head look half Codien-like and half-ST (Scary Tomato)-like! We were going to make a group picture of everyone jumping, but it was too tricky to manage. After a while, we found Shy Turtle lurking in the room. He was, apparently, also known as the evil ”Anti SG”!

Super Grape (SG) soon joined in with us, where he found his ‘other self’, Anti SG. Anti SG stayed, and SG thought it was best to exit. We also met a friendly green-skinned guy by the name of Dizzy Catfish jumping here and there, making our eyes go dizzy. Creepy Kid and Invisible Bean dropped by (thanks for letting me Costumize your whiskers, Invisible Bean!).

After some time, we headed over to an enchanted forest, full of translucent glowing butterflies fluttering by. There we met a very fast-moving Poptropican carrying a sword and wearing a nice jacket, Speedy Ice. Everyone who was left grouped together for a photo on the top branch. Later on, we moved into yet another green Techno room where I met Incredible Fish. Take a look at the big picture below to see all I’ve gathered:

Hanging Out in ARU44

Hope you guys have fun meeting up with your buddies! We hope to see you around!

My head is on fire!

Lighten up, lad!
”Arghh! Yeowwwww! Help me! Save me head… oh!” The little boy’s cries of agony echoed through the underground temple of Shark Tooth Island. He knew his parents had warned him not to play with fire, but he just couldn’t resist! Unfortunately, a ”small accident” had caused his whole body to go up in flames, and he was burning fast now. His head was the first part to catch on fire, and in a few seconds had melted his hair away, leaving him bald. He now wore a nice crown of fire on top of his head, and the rest of his body was glowing orange from head to toe. Oh, will he ever be saved, or will this poor kid be left to —

Oof! A purple dungeon bat knocked him down into the water below the ledge he was standing on. It was terribly salty and dirty water, and the little boy also remembered being warned by his parents not to go swimming down there (whoops, too late!). But amazingly, the horror of the flames were gone! He was saved! The boy vowed never to mess with fire again. As should all of you Poptropicans! 😀

Thanks for this update, Incredible Fish. We don’t know much about this fire-body power, but it’s most likely going to be a new Poptropica Store item coming soon in the Cool Stuff section. Don’t forget, there will also be an astronaut suit coming to the store next week! (See the post below for more information.)

Apparently, a day or so ago, prices in the Poptropica Store had gone down just after they had gone up. Thanks for the update, Green Seal. When the store first opened, costumes were 75 credits each and Cool Stuff items were 250 credits each. However, on July 15 they had gone up: costumes had become 150 each and Cool Stuff things were 325 credits. A day later they were back at original price. But apparently, they were lowered by a lot recently: Cool Stuff was 175 and Special Costumes were 25 each!

Golden Eagle suggests that they were probably testing out prices to see if they got a surge in sale, but maybe normal was getting the most profit for them. They have now returned to the original price, Cool Stuff being 250 each and Special Costumes are 75 each.

We have moved the ”Commenting Rules” from the About page to a seperate page, which you can find here. Recently, we have also added a ”Contact” page, where you are able to learn new methods of keeping in touch with updates at the PHB. You can find the Contact page here.

By the way, due to going through too much work, our Poptropica Links site will not be used anymore. Repeat: The PHB’s Poptropica Links WordPress blog will not be updated any longer. However, we will continue to update the Poptropica Directory on the PHB – but we won’t be adding new directory listings into our blogroll sidebar, sorry. As a matter of fact, we have now reached over 40 listings in our directory, so click here to check out all the cool webpages!

Blog Notice
Scary Tomato will not be active on the PHB from July 24 to July 28, 2009. I’ll be on vacation and won’t have Internet access for those five days. Hopefully, the rest of our staff will still be posting news updates and stuff!

Unfortunately, I will not be available for the one-year anniversary of Poptropica Help Blog, sorry! But while I’m gone, please don’t wreak havoc and spam the whole site! Smockers and Codien will still be around to catch y’all and send you to prison with Crusher, Ratman, Betty Jetty and the rest of their evil gang. Just kidding… but be safe, readers! 😛
