Shrink Ray Island

Time is shrinking: the Countdown for Shrink Ray Island

It won’t be long now.

Thursday, June 30th, is the promised day for the release of Shrink Ray Island. There’s a countdown timer on the Poptropica homepage so you’ll know exactly what time it’s released, all the way down to the seconds.

So using the current time on the countdown timer and the time it is right now in your area, calculate what time it will be for you when Shrink Ray Island comes to life.

Then show up at the Poptropica Help Chatroom half an hour ahead of that time so the whole Poptropica community can count down with you in anticipation of the island’s release.

And when the time comes… we’ll all play together.

You. Everyone. PHC. Countdown party.

Be there.

The Official Guide to Poptropica!

It’s EP here for a new post. How’s everyone doing? Cruising? Enjoying the summer? That’s nice! I’m almost too lazy today to get out of my video game lounge playing meh xbox to type up a new post :P. But here it goes, the creators have announced the official guide to Poptropica.

Merchandising for the game was hinted some time ago, around a year, in a post on this blog about future products like backpacks and books. I don’t remember who posted it or how they got to it, but I remember the clue was inside a post about a news article on the web interviewing someone that worked on Poptropica. Well, now it’s finally here! Check it out:

Announcing the Poptropica guidebook!

It’s true: Poptropica: The Official Guideis coming! This full-color guidebook contains walkthroughs for most Poptropica Islands, behind-the-scenes looks at how an Island is made, and quotes from the Poptropica Creators. Poptropica: The Official Guide will be released on October 13. For a special sneak preview, visit the Poptropica guidebook page on Amazon.com for a special preview: an interview with Jeff Kinney, Poptropica creator and Diary of a Wimpy Kid author!

October 13th??? Whatttttt? Are they not done editing it or publishing it or something? We’ll have to wait months before we can get an actual copy of this book. I can’t wait to find out what’s inside. I don’t know if they’d include island guides, but maybe only tips and info on the islands. A guide might spoil the fun and surprise perhaps.

On the cover of the book is a Poptropican swinging on a rope…don’t fall. I just felt like saying that ;). The cover also shows various Poptropica characters and a location situated on Mythology Island. You can get read an exclusive interview with Jeff Kinney on the amazon webpage. Cannot wait to obtain my own copy of this book now :). What do you think? Will you buy it? Comment below.

Shrink Ray Island’s Tiny Map

In today’s small post, the Creators revealed the small map for the next new island, Shrink Ray, which is open this Thursday!

Shrink Ray Island map revealed!

Shrink Ray Island is coming this Thursday, June 30. Here’s your first look at the Shrink Ray Island map.

You’ll explore much of Shrink Ray Island as a teeny tiny Poptropican. Good thing we didn’t shrink the map, too!

Looks interesting! One of those looks like it connects to the science fair place, and the other I guess connects to the lab?

There’s even a countdown timer on the front page of Poptropica so you’ll know all the way down to which SECOND that Shrink Ray Island is released! (Smart move – now people won’t get confused about the very exact time of release!) The image to the right shows what it looks like.

Anyways, I can’t wait for the new island! 😀 Hope you all have fun out there being small, and possibly getting stomped on! XD

Rockin’ with Rodrick

Rodrick’s band could really use your rockstar voice to win the talent show.
Will you do it?

Fans of Rodrick and/or his band, Loded Diper (from Diary of a Wimpy Kid), now have the chance to rock out with them in the new ad for Rodrick Rules! Or does rocks sound better? Rodrick rules? Rodrick rocks? …How about we just get to helping the band?

Thank you to PHB reader Electric Spaceship (theloudshark) for providing the video guide.

20 rarest items: The Finale

This is it, people! It’s the grand finale for the 20 rarest items of Poptropica history (so far at least)! We’re down to the top 5 rarest items of all time now. Here’s a new creators post detailing the big 5:

The 20 rarest items in Poptropica, part 5

This is it. To celebrate the launch of our 20th Island, Shrink Ray Island, today we conclude our list of the 20 rarest items in Poptropica history.

4. Hypnotic

This dazzling costume was available for a short time by clicking on an otherwise unremarkable window in Early Poptropica.

3. Cryptids Nessie Hat

One of the hardest items to acquire in Poptropica’s history was the Nessie Hat during the sneak preview of Cryptids Island. Players could look through a viewfinder on the shores of Loch Ness, and those who spotted Nessie won this item!

2. Wunder Bubble Tonic

Unlike the Loch Ness viewfinder, roping cattle in the Wild West sneak preview wasn’t about luck. But it was incredibly difficult, and not many Poptropicans were able to wrangle all of the prizes from that game, including the final prize, Wunder Bubble Tonic.

1. 3rd Birthday Hat

To win the 3rd birthday hat, a Poptropican had to be incredibly lucky. First of all, you had to be in a common room during our 3rd birthday celebration last September. Next, you needed to see a special balloon appear, which most Poptropicans never did. And finally, you had to click on the balloon before you left the room! Those who made it were rewarded with the 3rd birthday hat, the rarest item in the history of Poptropica.

If you missed any of these rare items over the past 20 Poptropica Islands, never fear: there will be a lot more costumes and powers to come from the next 20 Islands — and beyond!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

For number 5 is that weird looking hypnotic costume from a hunt on Early Poptropica. An image revealed clicking on a window for the hunt, posted in the creators blog. They gave us picture clues. Clicking on the right window gave you a special costume! Too bad I didn’t get it, thought it was weird :/.
Next up is the Nessie hat! Remember that loch ness sneak peek we had before Cryptids Island offically launched? That’s right, some seconds on the view finder to find nessie. Members got more time, though. But the PHB did it again! They found a way to get more time, just log out and log back in again! Many people probably used this effecient method. Some might’ve seen all sorts of stuff like a flying balloon, a dog, Skullduggery Island ships (captain c’s ship was there…hmmmm, yummm…lobster :D), but if you were really lucky, the chance of probability shined upon you and you would see…Nessie! That unlocks this special hat (wonder if coderkid or codien could hack into that to put it on MAP or something, modify a poptropican 😉 ).
The wonder bubble tonic was the final and most difficult prize to recieve. One had to wrangle all the cows/herd them in order to recieve it. When you drink it you immediately turn blue, and blue bubbles escape from your mouth. Finally, remember Poptropica’s 3rd Birthday? Ahhh, 3 years of fun, fun, and more fun. The servers were swarmed with players trying to find special balloons in Multiplayer Rooms. Upon clicking on the balloon got you the rarest prize of all, 3rd bday hat! Of youcrse, I bet it would’ve taken hours and hours of finding to actually spot the balloon.
So that’s the conclusion! The 20 rarest items have come to a stop, people!
