Is that a new Poptropica video game?! Hmm… remember Brave Tomato’s post where she mentioned a certain part of the Creators’ Blog that hinted at a new video game in the sidebar?

Well, her findings have paid off! According to a recent tweet from the Creators, this new video game will be coming soon. Specifically, the game is for 3DS and is called Poptropica: Forgotten Islands. Sound familiar? Yep, it was an iOS app. Below are previews to what the game will hold:

Poptropica: Forgotten Islands for the 3DS will come out on October 14, 2014, but you can pre-order it now for about $30. By clicking the link in the previous sentence, you can also see the synopsis and other details for the game. If it’s anything like the iOS version that already exists, though, you can read all about it and see plenty of screenshots in the PHB’s walkthrough!

In other news, we are expecting another Poptropica Land update soon. A recent Poptropica tweet gives hints for what will be added in the update. (Click to enlarge the image.)

As you can see, the sneak peek shown above features furniture (a table, an armoire/cabinet, and a suit of armor), plus various animals. Hopefully we will get to play with these features (and more?) soon enough. Plus, will we possibly be able to customize parts of the animals? They do look fairly Poptropican size. 🙂

Will you ever escape? (Survival Ep. 5 details!)

Survival Island is coming to a close, and the last episode’s title and description have been revealed on the official tour page – episode 5 is titled “Escape!” (or escahpay for Finding Nemo fans 😛 ), and the description reads below –

The hunt is on! In the darkness before dawn, can you turn the tables on your pursuer and escape the woods once and for all?

What can we look forward to as we escape from the legendary game hunter Myron Van Buren? We know someone – presumably Max McGullicutty – will be waiting to help us get out of the woods, and from the looks of these Daily Pop sneak peeks from the past month or so, it looks like we may be revisited by some familiar animal friends or (foes?), like the bear from the cave in episode 1 and the two beavers from episode 2! Plus, it seems our rescuer M.M. has a secret hideout…

Eager: A gnawing sense of deja vu.

Clampdown: Just grin and bear it.

In the Loop: Time is a flat circle.

Cub Scout: So exciting, we can hardly bear it.

Rigged: This bear gets animated when she’s hungry.

Holy Moly: This is no tunnel of love.

Coordinated: Of course, don’t lose the plot.

Lumbering: You aren’t out of the woods yet.

Into the Woods: More than a big bad wolf lurks here.

Any theories on how we’ll be able to outsmart MVB? When does the line form?

The Creators just announced that episode 1 of Poptropicon Island – Line Forms Here – is coming out for Poptropica members next Thursday, August 28. If you’d like to see some behind the scenes information, click here to view the BTS Overview and Theory on the first episode. 😀

PHB Ice Bucket Challenge & High Kicker power

The PHB team has been challenged by Fierce Moon of Poptropica Secrets to take on the #IceBucketChallenge, and… challenge accepted! The cold doesn’t bother us anyway. 😉

If you haven’t already seen, a few of Poptropica’s most iconic characters have taken on this challenge as well, which aims to raise awareness and donations for the ALS Association, whose goal is to fight a disease known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) which deteriorates muscle control. I made a little donation in the PHB’s name, and if you can, I encourage you to help a good cause as well. 🙂

As for nominees: we invite any Poptropican who wants to embrace the ice, to do so — whether in real life or with a Poptropica picture! When you do, feel free to post it on your blog or just upload it somewhere, then share it with us in the comments!

There’s a new ad on SUIs (sound-updated islands) such as Mythology, and it’s a street stand that will lead you to a CapriSun Roarin’ Waters website where you can enter daily for a chance to take on the pros from Major League Soccer. More importantly, though, it gives you the new High Kicker power, which is activated when you click “use” and press space bar.

Strangely, this doesn’t work on non-SUIs, and it also may remove your handheld item if you’re holding one. Anyway, enjoy the special move! Keep on poppin’ on, Poptropicans. 😀
