Crisis Caverns Island

Poptropica Worlds: Crisis Caverns Leaks!

Hey everyone, it’s Perfect Sky!

So today, we’ll be taking a look at an interesting set of images. Thanks to Shaky Skunk and an anonymous glitcher, we’ve received three new leaks from the upcoming Poptropica Worlds:

poptropica-worlds-leaks

These images seem to be from Crisis Caverns, a new island that was never officially announced, and unfortunately never released. Although it could even be renamed, it looks like the island will be remade in the new game. Anyway, let’s check out the first picture:

cc-leak-1-fw

In this picture, what I find most interesting is the key. Specifically, what appears to be a red rock or gem. Perhaps this key unlocks a matching red door. In that case, there must be other keys with different colors scattered across the island. Maybe not, but that’s just a thought. Now, on to the next image:

cc-leak-2-fw

Those blocks are stacked in a way that resembles a staircase, so this could mean we’ll have to climb up. With the lava behind us, and probably no way to fall in, this seems a bit too easy (I’m assuming the lava here is just used to enhance the design). But over to the right, notice a sharp, pointy object. Possibly, some kind of cannon will shoot sharp objects at the player, as we try to dodge them. Finally, the last picture:

cc-leak-3-fw

Hey look, those red rocks are back! Interesting.. Compared to what we saw in the previous images, this big structure looks very important. Since the door is currently closed in the picture, we’ll probably have to find a way to get it open, whether that would be a regular key, or something totally different. Maybe we will have already passed this place earlier in the island quest, but return towards the end with a way to open the door. Perhaps this is the final destination, where the island comes to a conclusion.

Well, that’s all for the leaks. Be sure to share your opinions or theories about these images in the comments below!

My Place in Poptropica: Magic Sinker

This is the My Place in Poptropica story of Magic Sinker, who introduced the game to several friends and blogs about it on her fansite, The Poptastic BlogSee below for how to send in your own MPIP!

2012 | Funbrain

One day in third grade, when I was playing some random game on Funbrain in the computer lab at my old school during our free time, I noticed an advertisement with some Poptropicans on it. Of course, at that time I did not know what Poptropicans were, and I ignored the advertisement and continued playing the other game.

A few weeks later, while I was on the Funbrain website again reading a book called Tessa’s Tree, the advertisement was back. This time, I decided to press it just for my curiosity to be fulfilled. The new game opened in a new tab, and went straight to the log in page. I made my first account, Cheerful Heart. You can friend her, the user name is flowerfriends8, though I no longer use the account.

2013 | From “What do I do now?” to “Welcome to the PHB, Cheerful Heart!”

Since at the time I did not know how to play the islands, all I did was buy one costume (the Rockstar) and costumize off of her. I went to Wild West Island, and started playing it. Just then, a light bulb went off in my head… use a guide! To this very day, my old account still has the hat for one of the cowboys of the island.

At that time, I started using the PHB for help, and I have completed Mystery Train, Wild West, and Mystery of the Map Island on that account. Also, this was the time when I was obsessed with Poptropica, and tried to beat all the islands. I told most of my friends about Poptropica, too! Back then, I was quite young and not very good at playing the islands, and it was no wonder I was not able to complete even ten of them.

2014–early 2016 | Poptropica on Hold

I put Poptropica on hold for a couple of years as life got busier: I moved schools, was busy with schoolwork, and so on. Poptropica became just a memory to me; I never thought about it anymore. I have not used my Cheerful Heart account since 2013.

After a few months, I did remember Poptropica – I always wanted to go back to it, but I did not have the time (or internet) to play. I kept on checking the PHB for updates, but I never actually played the game.

Late 2016 | My Friends and a Golden Era

Once I got into middle school, I started playing Poptropica again! A new girl joined my school (her Poptropican’s name is Nice Snowball, and her username is starphire88), and I thought: I should make her feel comfortable by playing a game with her!

I didn’t know what game we could play together, but then it hit me: Poptropica! I felt just like I was yelling Eureka! We went onto the Chromebook laptops, and I taught her the basics of the game. At that point, I also made a new account, which I still use now: Magic Sinker (username is shayshaygamer). I also taught my other good friends how to play, and now they are part of the fandom!

2017 and Beyond | Back to Poptropica…

As of this new year, I have completed 10 Islands on my new account, and I am working on completing more. I have also made a Poptropica blog with my friends called The Poptastic Blog, and I am active in the community.

That is it for now! Thanks for having me.

Hope you enjoyed this “My Place in Poptropica” story! Feel free to send in your own (please include a minimum of 550 words, type with good spelling and grammar, divide it into labeled sections, and include your username). This has been the first MPIP of 2017, but as of now, we have no new community MPIPs scheduled. If you send in your story, we’ll continue the series!

Bat-ter watch out for LEGO Batman!

Bats up, Poptropicans? 🦇🦇

There’s a new mini-game ad on Home Island, celebrating the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie, in theaters starting February 10, 2017. (Thanks to Purple Claw for the images and video below!)

Upon entering, speak to the police officer to your right, and she’ll give you the mission: catch The Joker! You’ll need to dodge The Joker’s balloons, and if you don’t want to wing it, check out this video:

Once you win, you’ll win two batty prizes: a Grappling Hook and a Batarang!

To the Batmobile!

PHB Sneak Peeks, Social Media

Of Bucktoothed Bunnies and Binary Boots

Hey Poptropicans!

Dr. Hare has taken over the world again! Well… his face has, and by “world” we mean “Poptropica’s social media.” Check out the rad new profile picture on Pop’s social accounts! It’s got some pretty smooth and stylized lines and highlights, again possibly to be seen in the upcoming Poptropica Worlds.

It’s even made its way to the side of the Creators’ Blog:

This tweet from Poptropica confirms that this will be the new face of their social media, but also that they plan to rotate the selection of icons, which means we may see another villain featured in the future:

For more social media shenanigans, check out their latest Snapchat snaps, recapped here.

Speaking of Poptropica Worlds style, there’s been a leak for another familiar face (and body and limbs): Binary Bard, with fingers, thicker arms and legs, and snazzy jester boots! Credit goes to the Poptropica Skunk Blog and an anonymous glitcher for sharing this interesting find. (Disclaimer: We cannot guarantee whether or not this is real.)

While we wait for more exciting news to develop, glitcher idk has continued to poke around in Poptropica’s unused files and discovered a few things.

First, there’s the unused idea of interacting with NPCs (non-player characters) the way you would with players in a common room, by asking them questions, costumizing, or friending. The chat options are like the ones you get in common rooms, and you’ll even get a response. Check out this video for a closer look at this in action.

idk also found versions of SUI items (SUI meaning sound-updated island) in non-SUI form, including items from Monster Carnival, Virus Hunter, and Mocktropica, as well as medallions from the latter two plus Beta Carrotene. These medallions also came with a secret island reset window, which looks like this (however, clicking yes will only lock the game):

reset-island-unused

And recalling an earlier find, a mysterious unused amulet from Vampire’s Curse, it turns out this item glows as well! That’ll keep those vampires away, I guess…

Anyway, that’s all for now! Stay popping, Poptropicans!

App, Contests, Creators, Islands of the Month, Polls, Poptropica Worlds, Reality TV Island, Social Media, Super Power Island

A plethora of poptastic updates!

Hello, everyone!

Lucky Joker here and today I’ll be sharing updates regarding the #MyPoptropicaCostume contest, the Poptropica app and more! Skinny Moon has seen most of the FAQ on Poptropica’s social media and decided to answer a few today on the Creator’s Blog, so let’s get right to it.

Regarding the #MyPoptropicaCostume contest, here’s what she had to say:

We haven’t forgotten about the #MyPoptropicaCostume contest. Au contraire, my popping peeps. We are almost done combing through all the entries and hope to open up voting for the runners-up later this week!

You read it right—Voting could open up as soon as this week! When the voting process commences, we’ll let you know. Can’t wait to see all of the amazing runner-ups!

She also mentioned Poptropica Worlds in her latest post and is fully aware of all of the questions we have. Expect a FAQ post to appear on the blog in the near future. 😉

Also, don’t forget to vote for February’s Islands of the Month. Voting ends tomorrow January 24 at midnight ET, so be sure to do so soon. Here are the results so far:

It’s pretty neck and neck here. Which one will you vote for?

On the topic of Islands of the Month, make sure to go finish January’s Islands of the Month and take advantage of the usual credit boost. You have a week left to play!

Skinny Moon hasn’t only been blogging as of late, but snapchatting as well under the name “Official Poptropica”. Check out these snaps from earlier today:

As for the Poptropica App, there appears to be a new ad (acknowledging Poptropica’s latest comicWeek 32) with a couple of prizes to be earned! Though it may be on the desktop version as well, I was only able to find it on the app. Anyway, let’s pop right into it!

I’ll admit, the game is pretty difficult  but it’s still fun nonetheless! To earn your prizes, slide your finger across your screen to dodge falling objects which include bananas, barrels and carrots. (It makes much more sense if you read the comic. 😛 )

The broomsticks up on the top left corner signify the amount of times you can get hit with an object before you lose. The bar on the left shows the progress you’ve made on your way to the finish.

Upon completing the game, you’ll win the Flying Monkey Costume and the Banana Peel!

Well, that’s it for now! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll talk to you soon. Pop on!
