Mission Atlantis: sneak peeks from the Daily Pop & Tour

With Mission Atlantis Island releasing this Thursday to members, why not take a look at what we Poptropica adventurers may soon be facing in the unknown depths of the sea? These sneak peeks from the Daily Pop may give us some hints about what’s going to go down (click to enlarge pics)–

So here’s what we can gather from these pictures — deep under the sea, it looks like there’s a big pink cylindrical tube that will lead you through a puzzle of smaller tubes (which you must re-assemble to ensure a secure passageway). You’ll be traveling in a little pod, as we saw in the trailer video, and you’ll use clues to lead you to pieces (of random shards, perhaps forming the “puzzle key”?). There’ll also be some awesome sea creatures, like sharks and sea dragons! Hey, not a bad analysis, eh? 🙂

And here’s the description for Episode 1 from the official Tour page:

It was supposed to be simple: photograph rare sea creatures, then head back to the surface. But a stunning discovery leads you to a brand new mission!

The underwater scenes here are a bit reminiscent of the excavation of Poptropolis Games 2013, although not quite the same – for those of you who don’t remember, there was a period of time just before the Games arose again where players could dive down into a sea (a bit like this one) and win a point for their tribe every time they reached the bottom (congrats, again, to Wildfire).

We can see the waters getting darker here – a sign that it’s pretty deep down. Also, just as Atlantis comes from Greek mythology, the ship’s name is “Medusa”! Medusa is also another term for jellyfish.

Oh, and remember the flying sneak peek from last week? We can now confirm that it is in fact for Episode 3 of Survival, because a background file for the radio tower we saw is in Poptropica’s files for Survival 3! Here’s what it looks like in its entirety:

Anyway, Mission Atlantis: Episode 1 comes out this Thursday, April 17 to members, and you can get your Diving Suit from the Store now! Non-members, don’t feel too left out — Survival: Episode 1 will be available to all on the same day. 🙂 Are you excited for some deep-sea diving?!

Captain Crawfish of the Creators’ Blog recently posted this sneak peek involving a tiny Poptropican, wide sky, structure to the side (a satellite tower, perhaps?), along with the caption “WHEEEEEEE!!!”–

(EDIT: An anonymous tip speculates that this could be for Survival: Episode 3, which is supposed to be about creating a distress signal – notice the radio tower to the side!)

To clarify, the “pass hash” that I blurred in the video was not Samwow5’s. It was mine. This is not a way to hack into accounts. Yes, the hash can be unhashed, but it shows your password. Right under the “pass hash”, your username shows up. Try it for yourself. This is not a way to hack accounts. Keep on finding usernames! 😀

Find the iPad Handheld!

For some users, you can find the rumored iPad handheld on the Main Street of multiple islands including Early Poptropica. When spacebar is pressed, the iPad/tablet tosses a Disney Infinity ball into the air that then bursts into a Disney Infinity character. Such strange. :mrgreen: (credit: Shaggy Dragon)

More on Upcoming Islands

We now know what the third episode of Survival will be about — a radio Distress Signal! In fact, that’s the title of the episode. The main theme for Survival Island: Episode 2 has been uncovered, along with many other new tracks for upcoming islands, which are now listed on our Behind the Scenes page! The episode seems to be coming very soon — most of the island has been uploaded in the files.

But wait, there’s more! Turns out deep diving isn’t the only thing we’re going to be doing on the next island after Survival… get ready for Mission Atlantis! I’ll go into the details soon, but for now, Mission Atlantis is all we know about this new island! 😀

PHB Sneak Peeks: Upcoming Friendly Features

Still here? Ready to get a sneak peek into the future of Poptropica? Here we go, let the post begin!

Through some recently uncovered pictures, we may have a look at some of Poptropica’s upcoming features! Here we have an example of what will come to be known as a Badge Album when it is released. This one specific album is part of a bigger feature to be released.

There you have it! It appears that there will be an addition to the Friends feature in the near future. It features your Poptropica Avatar, your name, your battle ranking, and your Island Medallions. But what are those at the bottom? Those would be the various Badge Albums.

There are four types of badges that you can earn: Collector, Socializer, Explorer, and Competitor. If I had to guess, I would assume that each  badge type was related to the following aspects of the game:

  • Collector relates to either how many items you have, or how many hidden items you have found within the game.
  • Socializer relates to how many friends you have, how much time you spend in common rooms, or how many times you chat and battle.
  • Explorer relates to how many islands that you have started or completed.
  • Competitor relates to your battle ranking/how many mini-games you have won, how many island medallions you have won, or how many times you have completed each island.

There is also another little feature hidden away in this new way to show off all of your achievements, a way to not show off your achievements! In the bottom left corner, you can see this privacy lock.

This allows for you to hide your Friends page and profile. You can either have your profile shown to everyone, just your friends, or (presumably) not at all.

It appears that only time will tell all of the secrets that this badge feature has hidden away.

The Missing Link: Asgard

Some other bloggers and I have covered many different possibilities for new islands this year. I’ve put together a list, and I think you should read it before going on;

Have you read through them? Good. I bet you recognized 3 out of 4 of those islands from our prediction posts, or from Poptropica itself. But the last one made you make a double take. Why didn’t I include Fuzzy B’s “Atmos Island” or “Twisted Twice Island”? Because there will not be an Atmos or Twisted Twice Island. It’s been under our noses for far too long.

The picture above is a Daily Pop from 2011. The title of the post is “To Valhalla” and the description reads “Could this be the setting of a new Island?”

Ok, so you think because of a Daily Pop 3 years ago that Asgard island is going to be a thing now? Wait a minute, people — there’s more to the story.

You may know about Asgard to an extent. According to Norse mythology, Asgard is one of the nine worlds of the gods. If you don’t care, let me remind you that Thor himself comes from this mythology! It is ruled by Odin, and it is floating. Yes, floating above the earth. It is made up of castles in the sky.

Need I say more? The next Poptropica island after Monster Carnival very well may be Asgard Island (or something similar). All I know is that the island is going to be based on Norse mythology. Below are some Daily Pops (and non-Pop Norse mythology pictures) that are probably connected to Asgard Island. And remember that this is just a theory (although still a pretty plausible one 😛 ):
