Hey guys! 😀 Another weekend to rest up! And another weekend to post about the new item that membership gets you! This is a special costume promoting Mystery Train Island! It’s called the Mystery Train Inspector! Now you can dress up to look like Sherlock Holmes, or something close to it. Credit to HT and SG for pictures! 😀
"The game is afoot!"What the costume looks like on a Poptropican.Its special action!!
The special action of this costume is cool! When you press spacebar, you lift the magnifying glass to your eye! 😀 Looks awesome! Congrats to all you lucky members out there! Remember Mystery Train releases Sept. 9!!
~~~
There’s also a new ad in town: Family Game Night ad! It’s a quest building where you get to go in and compete in a game called Connect Four basketball! You have to shoot basketballs into the gameboard so you get four of the same color and win! If you win, you get the Yatzee Bowling card, which is an animation of bowling ball and pins when you use it! BUT THE FUN ISN’T OVER YET! If you go to the far right of the ad, there’s a door, where you have to solve a slide puzzle to gain entrance! When you get the code, enter it in and the door shall be opened! You get to go into the room and get two more prizes: The Hub Outfit and a Sorry Sliders costume!! Thanks to LS for the ad walkthrough!! 😀
~~~
And one last thing! PHB reader Aang has found another Poptropica Creator named Nasan Hardcastle! On his LinkedIn Profile (click here or check the comments: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/nasan-hardcastle/4/ab/3b8 ), it says he is a “Designer and Illustrator for characters, environments, games and toys on Poptropica!” And his profile picture is that of the Wild West villain El Mustachio Grande! What more proof could we need? 😀 IT will be added onto the Creators’ Database when we have time.
~~~
Well that’s all for tonight!
Have a great day, stingray! And I’m howling out. AWOOOOOOOOOO!
As you might have heard or seen, the new mini-game for Mystery Train Island, D.C. Diner, is out! As many PHB commenters correctly predicted, it is similar to the game Diner Dash!
To play D.C. Diner, visit the travel map and click on the starburst next to the Mystery Train logo. Or, if you log in, you can click the D.C. Diner slide in the rotating feature box to go there instantly! (Poptropica Creators’ Blog)
D.C. Diner: gameplay & prizes!
The visitors of the diner want a quick bite to eat before hopping on the train to Chicago. You act as the waiter/waitress and serve food and drink to them before they leave.First you have to seat them, then wait as they order.
To fill drinks, click on the machines for soda, root beer, and coffee. For food, visit the chef and pick from chicken, burger, or dessert based on what the customers ordered. When customers are done, pick up their plates and wash them. Throw unused orders in the trash bin.
There are more shifts and it gets harder each shift, like for example, a timer. When people leave, they add 20-30 seconds to the timer, depending on the shift number. Upgrades are also available each shift!
Hostess (non-members and members): Seats the guests each time a seat is available
Fast Drinks (non-members and members): Makes pouring the drinks faster
Larger Tray (members): Easier to carry more orders
Busboy (members): Makes washing dishes instant.
Faster cook (members): Makes orders faster.
After 3 shifts, non-members won’t be able to go on, but can still play the minigame. Members can go on up until five shifts. There are also prizes to be had in this all-new minigame, which I’m sure you’ve all been waiting for!
There are VIPs that come into your diner that you have to serve, but you don’t know it yet. Whenever they leave, you get an item, and at the end of each shift, you find out who they are. Five prizes are to be had in this game!
Edison Light Bulb (non-members and members): When Thomas Edison comes into your diner, you get this handheld item that lights up when you press spacebar!
Mark Twain Haircut (non-members and members): When Mark Twain comes into your diner, he leaves you with his snazzy haircut that you can wear! Mustache not included. 😦
Magician’s Hat (non-members and members): When Harry Houdini comes into your diner, he leaves with you his magic hat! This magic hat, when you wear it and press spacebar, bubbles appear and a cute rabbit pops up! 🙂 Sometimes flowers pop up too, but it’s not as cute as the rabbit. 😛
Eiffel Tower Hat (members): When Gustav Eiffel stops by your diner, he gives you an Eiffel Tower hat, a hat that will surely make you a fashion “attraction”! 😀 Get it? Oh never mind.
Tesla Coil (members): In my opinion, this is the best prize :P. When Nikola Tesla stops by, he leaves you with this handheld Tesla Coil. When you wear it and press spacebar, it electrifies you in little lightning bolts and emits a flash of light! 😀
I’m still unsure as to whether all of the prizes are available for all. The first three prizes are available for non-members.If you have any tips for the game, just leave a comment! Credit to Striped Grape for all the item cards! (You’ve been credited a lot now, huh? 😀 )
Flags & friends
In other news, Plague and other PHB readers have found out about country flags and friend buttons in Poptropica common and Multiverse rooms! Seems like now we can add friends on Poptropica! 🙂
EDIT: PHC people have noticed that the flags and friend button started working last night, but got removed. But stay tuned! It might come back! 😀
The only problems is that the flag is always USA, as Rory has noticed. Even though he lives in Europe, the flag on his character still says he is in the USA. Another problem for now is that the friend button doesn’t work yet. But stay tuned for more info about the friend button and country flags! 😀
Adventure Time ad: Jake follower
Also, thanks to Mstorm/Mbones/Madrigal, we have info on the newest ad to make its way into Poptropica: the Adventure Time video ad! all you have to do is watch the video and get a Jake follower at the end! So far, it’s available on Early Poptropica. Try finding more islands it’s on!
Costume closets?
One last thing: Have you checked out the latest Daily Pop sneak peek? It hints about costume closets! Do you think it will be an addition to the Poptropica world? Would this be a great addition? Leave your opinion in the comments! as for me, I’m out. Peace! 😀 Phew long post 😛
Cannot do it hard with a gift card! Those wallpapers don’t look very good though, I don’t think I’ll take either of those.
CC: You don’t like my art?
Never mind…
oh and there are just 8 hours left in the best poptropica villians semi finals!
I was going to teach you a trick with staplers so staplers fit into the title, but I GTG.
Green Boa: Yep! 2 things that people love to do. BOTH could be useful on Poptropica’s new adventure Great Pumpkin Island. Now, in this post we’re gonna have a whole lotta guests, so I thought would only be suitable to make this in talk show format. Now, let’s meet our co-host for today, Binary Bard! (:
Binary Bard: *peeks out from behind chair* Uh, h-h-h-hello?
Green Boa: What the radish are you doing there?
Binary Bard: Well it’s not like this is the safest place in the world, you know! You’ve eaten all 3 Captain Crawfishes! I could be next! And I know Hades got away, but it’s not like I have a plant monster to guard me, nor can I send any of you lot to the underworld! The PHB is savage and ruthless!
Green Boa: Would you like to go back to your faraway galaxy with no means of escape?
Binary Bard: Urrrr, no.
Green Boa: Good! Now, GP island is kinda tricky. But 10 skillful Poptropicans have just nailed it. We’d like you to welcome, Great Pumpkin island’s first 10 winners!!!
(Crowd cheers)
Binary Bard: Well… let’s give a great big cheer to…
(Bieber like squeal from crowd)
Green Boa: HYPER SHARK! FIRST OFFICIAL WINNER OF GREAT PUMPKIN ISLAND!!!!
Binary Bard: And they don’t call you hyper?
Green Boa: Oh, shut up. Of course, nothing is finished without a bit of competition, so, right on hyper shark’s sharky tail is…
Fierce dog with a moon-coloured bone
Binary Bard: Hmm. I like dogs. Maybe I should’ve made a robot DOG instead of a robot owl…
Green Boa: Didn’t you see the sign when you came into the studio? “NO THINKING UP WAYS TO TICKLE GREEN BOA’S FOOT WHILE HE IS ASLEEP EVIL PLANS WHILE ON AIR”
Binary Bard: Moving on… next to beat this comical island was…
Now THAT would scare me into handing over the treats... 😛
Green Boa: Lol, LOVE the costume Cooly! Great job!
Binary Bard: Yeah! But I REALLY like this one. Smart looking fellow. Maybe he could think about becoming a cyborg sidekick…
Green Boa: Stop it! Anywho, you’re right BB, this does look like a wise guy. And his name is…
Does he study the slipperiness protocols of atom factor plugs? No, he just beats islands really really fast. 😉
Binary Bard: Atom factor plugs? What?
Green Boa: It sounded scientific, so shut up. When I gave CC a science lesson a while back he got eaten alive, so button it. >:)
Binary Bard: Uhhh, anyway. Next on the list has a good taste in fashion. A dash of pirate, a little techno, a bit of ancient Greece and mystical powers. 🙂
Green Boa: Since when did you get into fashion?
Binary Bard: What, you never want to try anything new? Never been bored out of your mind deserted on a planet 10 million light years away from civilisation?
Green Boa: You raise a good point. 😛
Binary Bard: Yeah, but anyway. Put your hands together for…
Hmmm, tough... bite... could be useful for nomming... *evil giggle behind hand*
Green Boa: Hmm, yes. Very good. Space cowboy has worked well, so why not pirate/ancient greek gamer? Love it.
Binary Bard: Yes, but this next costume is VERY dull.
Green Boa: What? I love this costume! It’s a classic!
Binary Bard: Not much good for trick or treating though.
Green Boa: Sure it is! 1930s young boy or something like that. Anyway, welcome…
CLASSIC
Binary Bard: Well, even if he’s not too good with fashion, his island finishing skills are fantastic.
Green Boa: Exactly. Wow, this is a really really really really BIG post! Well, it can only get bigger by delaying. Next to complete Great Pumpkin was…
Look at her name. Blue Sky. BLUE SKY. That just CAN'T be a coincidence, can it?
Binary Bard: Seven down, three to go.
Green Boa: That’s right! And surfin’ is in. Or so says or next winner…
Singin', in the waves. I'm just siiiinging in the waves. What a wooonderful feeling...
Binary Bard: OK, we’re almost done. Finally!
Green Boa: Yep, we’ve seen the great and the good, but this guy looks just a tad… suspicious. 😕
Hide the paintings! No, wait! Hide the rockets! Uh, hide the paintings of rockets? XD
Binary Bard: OMCF! My agent! I told him to stay put! And he’s gone off on islands with PUMPKINS!
Green Boa: Well he probably took you for dead! You hadn’t spoken to him since you got stranded on that planet!
Binary Bard: Well how was I supposed to tell him? I wasn’t in mobile phone reception!
Green Boa: *eye roll* ANYWAY, we’ve seen a shark of the hyper kind, a moon that looks like a dog and could attack at any moment, a green faced typhoon with a low temperature, one of the smartest plugs in the world who has a habit of slipping out of tight spots, a closing jaw with a lot of muscles, a miniscule crush, a beautiful sky of its natural color, a musician who can pull a few tricks on the board and someone with the body of the tortoise but the speed of the hair. Now without further ado, I will announce the 10th winner of GP island…
TOTALLY AWESOME COSTUME OF EPICNESS!!!!
Binary Bard: Gee whiz! What a look!
Green Boa: Yes and that’s all of our lucky winners for this post! But, it’s not the end of the post!
Binary Bard: Mumble grumble grumbly mumbly.
Green Boa: SHUT UP!!! I have to apologise for my lack of effort on posting Poptropica updates. I would’ve done except the other authors were as speedy as the above Poptropicans and my computer doesn’t connect to the internet properly until 3:00 PM. Some of you may have thought that I had abandoned the PHB, but that is absolute BALDERDASH. I am NOT leaving the PHB anytime soon. 🙂
Binary Bard: Very emotional. 😐
Green Boa: And now for the feast!
Binary Bard: Oh, goody! Food! What are we eating?
Green Boa: *stares at BB*
Binary Bard: :O
Green Boa:
Binary Bard: *whimper*
Green Boa: We’re going to McDonald’s. *gets up and walks away*
Binary Bard: Wait, what?
Green Boa: We’re gonna go to McDonald’s. C’mon. We’re leaving.
Binary Bard: Oh, phew!
Green Boa: Unless you want to stay here, mind you, the audience looks a bit hungry…
Binary Bard: McDonald’s it is then!
(GB and BB leave, go to McDonald’s, and have the new ‘Crawfish Special’)
