Fan Comic: PoptropiCon Saga, Part 1/5 ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Hey Poptropicans, this is aย guest postย by Invisible Ring.ย Enjoy!

Hello, everyone on the PHB! Iโ€™m BACK! Did ya miss me? I know I was gone a while and the Future Machine News report must have given you guys a scare on how I went missing, and how the PHB executive hadnโ€™t seen a trace of me here since our movie interview. But then I finally came out of hiding… at least a little bitโ€ฆ with my brand-new movie trailer! YAAAY!

Yes, I said in my interview that I wanted to make a new movie eventually, and now I have finally begun! But enough of that and on with the REAL reason for this post. And THAT is my fanficโ€ฆ

A superhero story of a ten-day trial of terror inside the chaotic convention center! (Bwaaa-ha-ha-ha-haโ€ฆ) In other words, this super-story is a sequel to the episodes of PoptropiCon Island, which is now back on Haxe. So, nowโ€™s as good a time as any to show you the first issues of my comic collection!

โ€ฆBut before we begin, you may want to look at my dream island one more time first, because it ties RIGHT in with the story. This makes my โ€˜fan fictionโ€™ as others would call it; a little more complicated than othersโ€ฆ I might describe it asโ€ฆ letโ€™s see, an island-sequel dream-island episodic crossover adventure! (crazy, right?) Check out My Dream Island: Megatropolis here on the PHB!

But I digress. Without further ado, here are the first 3 issues of my super-story! I read these very issues to my cousin and my older sister and they were literally ROARINโ€™ for more. They loved it, and I think YOUโ€™LL love it too! You may find my writing and drawing a little rocky at first, but like my dream island, it progresses โ€” as does the plot, the punches, the punch-LINES, and so much more. Enjoy the videos!

Issue #1: Clash of the Con

Issue #2: Mysteries of the Mighty Action Force

Issue #3: The Super Spy Squadron

There are 15 issues total in my PoptropiCon Saga. Stay tuned for the next 3 issues here on the PHB!

ย โ€ฆOr, if you canโ€™t wait that long, you can check out my YouTube channel and read all the PoptropiCon comics I have so far! (Heads-up: I don’t have all 15 issues done and uploaded yet.)

So, thatโ€™s all for now! Thank you all, and I hope youโ€™ve enjoyed the first part of my super-story!

Pop Puzzles: What’s Missing? Round 7 ๐Ÿ‚

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Dizzy FeatherEnjoy!

Moon Eyes: Have a howlin’ good time.

Hello everyone, Dizzy Feather here with round seven of โ€œWhatโ€™s Missing?โ€ Here’s how the game works:

I’ll show you screenshots from Poptropica with a detail covered up, and you try to guess what the missing piece is. ๐Ÿง Leave your guesses in the comments of this post, and in about a week I’ll share the answers and shout out those who got any of them correct! A couple of rules:

  • No cheating! Don’t go in-game to the area shown to find the answers, and don’t copy someone else’s answers (best not to look before sharing yours). Not only would that be cheating others, but you’ll be taking the fun away from yourself!
  • Have fun! It’s just a game. Don’t pressure yourself to get them all.

Now that we’ve got that down, let’s start this Survival, Ep. 1 edition puzzle! You may need to click on images to view them in full.

So what’s missing? Share your guesses in the comments, and if you’re right, I’ll mention you when I reveal the answers. Good luck!

Hope you enjoyed this guest post by Dizzy Feather. If you did, you might also enjoy previous rounds of “What’s Missing?”: Round 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Popspiracy: Familiar Faces of the 40 Thieves

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Popular Raptor. Enjoy!

We know Scheherazade as the leader of the Forty Thieves from Arabian Nights Island, and Brutus as her muscular sidekick. But who are they really โ€” and their fellow thieves? That’s my question for this post!

Remember, the culprits are always people you know in life (that’s how it is for my life, yours?). That got me thinking. What if we know these thieves from elsewhere? And then it occurred to me: Brutus looks like a more muscular version of Hercules from Mythology Island! (Sorry Herc.)

There’s also the thief looking through the telescope later in the island. Maybe it’s just me, but he kind of reminds me of the Viking on Time Tangled Island, just with some hair shaved off.

I don’t know, sometimes appearances can be misleading. Maybe the Poptropica Creators have ideas for a new island where all the “good” characters we meet are actually the hidden villains of another island, and the “villains” are actually good.

Are there any good and bad characters that you think are similar to each other?

My Place in Poptropica: Blue Moon

This is a guest post from Blue Moon sharing her My Place in Poptropica story, which is all about oneโ€™s Poptropica journey. Enjoy!

Hey there fellow Poptropicans! This is Blue Moon, and this is my first post on the blog. Today itโ€™s all about my tale in Poptropica. Enjoy!

I am kind of an amateur in Pop, and I only lived in the Haxe version. I never got to experience the Flash versionโ€”the old islands, everythingโ€ฆ itโ€™s only a dream to my friends and I, when itโ€™s at least a memory to everyone else. This post is especially for all the new playersโ€”those whoโ€™ve heard of but never experienced Poptropicaโ€™s golden ages.

Spotlight: One time you may not want to be center stage.

2019: Finding Pop, then leaving

I was in grade three when I first encountered Poptropica, and it was during the Covid pandemic. My mom used to restrict me from screen-time except for academic reasons, and I was dying to get my hands on some free games. One day, when I was over at my friend Icy Fireโ€™s house, she presented me with this free, wonderful game, called Poptropica.

Sadly, at the time I was too stupid to figure out the complicated and confusing islands all by myself. Added with a stir of frustration at the extraordinary members-only products, I left the game before I even finished an island. I didnโ€™t know at the time that I was actually in the Flash version of the game, until, alas, it was too late. Oh well ๐Ÿ˜

Up and Away: It helps to be full of hot air.

2022: Revisiting

It was during the lockdown in Shanghai, China, where I live, that I picked up interest in Pop again. One day, I decided to get in touch with my friend Icy Fire, whoโ€™d gone to boarding school. In no time, she was asking me about Pop. Not wanting to disappoint my lost-and-found friend, I quickly sat up an account on Pop, and then managed to start a pathetic discussion. At least I found an interest in Popโ€ฆ which is still going.

With Poptropica’s current state, I completed every single island in a monthโ€™s time during the Shanghai lockdown. Of course, Icy Fire and I always stuck together on every single quest and challenge. To me, she was my light in Poptropica. For a short time, I left Pop because of pure boredom, and went off to play other games instead.

Puffed Up: The smoke gets in your eyes.

However, as I became more experienced in other games, I realized that none of them are actually as good as Poptropica. With a jolt, I returned to Pop in September, and made an internal vow never to leave it again. It was at that time that I finally realized that actually, Pop had already taken a place in my heart that no other game would replace, even though some players feel that the game has entered its “downfall.” Since September, I’ve been an active player once again.

I know that players enjoyed Poptropica when it was on Flash. But there are players now that never even got to play the old islands, and now their number is increasing. Iโ€™ve read the guides for the old islands time and time again, trying to absorb in the gameplay, but I still canโ€™t really โ€œbe inโ€ the quest. Please, Pop Creators, think about how it feels to new players whoโ€™ve never experienced the wonders of Poptropicaโ€™s past. I want to let them also have a chance to โ€œbe inโ€ Poptropicaโ€™s golden ages. This is not only for me, itโ€™s for every new player.

Long Thaw: Ice to see you.

To end on a happier noteโ€ฆ

Fun (and sometimes embarrassing) facts about Blue Moon the Poptropican:

  1. My first finished island is Fairytale Island, and I got stuck in a plant while helping Red.
  2. I took one whole month and four separate restarts to break out of Pelican Rock.
  3. Even for now, I still canโ€™t beat the โ€œunbeatableโ€ girl in PoptropiCon 2.
  4. My best friend on Pop is Super Star (username piziyu)
  5. My username is Aristah (friend me!)
Skylines: Keep running up that hill.

Still Poppinโ€™ On~

Party Clubhouse Tour: Dizzy Feather ๐Ÿฟ

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Dizzy FeatherEnjoy!

Hello everyone, Dizzy Feather here, with a tour of my party clubhouse. (You can also check out my other clubhouse tours here and here for my castle room.) Let’s get started!

Now this clubhouse isย designed as a movie theater and museum. Like many movie theaters, there areย concessions, popcorn, soda, and six flavors of ice cream: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint, fudge swirl, and bubblegum. I’ll just get a chocolateย ice cream and a purple soda.ย

While we wait for the movie to start, we can sit by the fire over on the left โ€”ย sorryย there isn’tย room for all of us. Not to worry though, the rest of use can wait in one of the two rooms on the second level.

Up on the left, we have a trampoline. You can jump on it, if you would like. However, you should probably wait till after the movie if you have already eaten your snacks.ย Anyway, over to the right, there’sย a water cooler with two comfy cushions to sit on.

Oh, the movie is about to start. Don’t worry, I chose the Mighty Actionย Force movie. It’s rated PG and is entertaining.ย

*yawn* That was a good movie, don’tย you agree?

Anyway, let’s start the tour of the museum. First up on the left is a wooden chest, salvaged from the library on Astro-Knights Island. Next to it is yet another chest from the Fairytaleย Island treasury. The last thing in this room is the ancient charcoal holder, donated by the Museum of Really Old Things on Goofball Island.

Over here, there are a few artifacts from various islands. The model fishes are from Mission Atlantis, the bags of candy are from Great Pumpkin, and the phoenix sculpture is from Back Lot.ย

Up here, there is a stuffed model of a camel, also donated by the Museum of Really Old Things. Then there’s a crystalย skull resembling the one in the old Pathfinders commonย room, plus a wooden barrel mug salvaged from a shipwreck on Skullduggery.ย

But what about that thing over there, with a yellow balloonย on it? Let’s see here, it says “Remembering Balloon Boy, may he safely return to the ground.” I think the balloon should be green, just saying.ย

Over here, we have some vintage toys, a tennis racket and ball, a stuffed toy vampire bat, a case full of figurines of villains, and a skateboard locked in place.

Finally, we have a golden statue from the Fairytale Island treasury, which used to be a statue of the king, but now, well… I imagine you can guess. We have a sandstone bust of a cat and a sarcophagus to hold a mummy, both also donated by the Museum of Really Old Things. Finally, there is a bust of Goofball Island’s founder, Emperor Thirsty Flame III.

That’s all for now, I hope you enjoyed the tour! I’ll be back again soon!
