Hello there, Neat Whale online! There’s a new ad on Counterfeit, Shark Tooth, 24 Carrot, Super Power, and Spy Island with the age limit 7-12. As the title suggests, it’s on a game called “Super Monkey Step And Roll”. (Thanks to IkeWB for the update!) In this ad, you can go around, watch a video clip, learn more about the game, see when it’s due, jeez, is my cat eating my spaghetti again?
Wait… something doesn’t seem right… oh, no, the banana machine in the factory’s not working right?! GAHHH!!! My Gramma spent five years working on that thing! Aw, well, the game is to fix the banana machine, and get 60 bananas in 60 seconds. Not much time, huh? I mean, a banana a second. Seriously? We aren’t the Flash… anyway, if you do manage to beat this game, the reward is a monkey coustume–what else? Either way, I find this rather difficult and I don’t exactly think I’m going to pass the game. (I’ve already tried anyway, gosh, calm down…) Oh, yeah, and here are a few pictures I tried to take of it on a new account I made today… Outside:

In other words, I used to play ‘Super Monkey Ball: Touch and Roll’ myself every once in a while with my friends and family–still do, and beat every one of the little poor children I challenged. And anyway, I’m going to spend a week with my cousin starting February 16th, and she’s really easy to beat at this game. 😛 Sorry, Becca, but I think I’ve found a new game similar to the old one I kept you up until midnight playing. 😀

Hey guys! Most of you probably already know this, but currently Poptropica is down. Players trying to access the game will get this message:
All I can say is that the Creators’ are possibly testing something, which I know because EVERYTHING has changed. Maybe not visually, but it has changed “behind the scenes”. I’ll try my best to get the low down on what’s going on, and update this post.
Also, if you have a sharp eye (like me 😛 ) you’ll notice that the image looks “stretched”. This is because (and I’m guessing here) the Creators were in rush (or just made a mistake), and put in the wrong height and width values so it looks stretched. What this means, I don’t know.
Another thing: If you look at the HTML, you’ll see this: “<!– The site should be back up by 10 AM U.S. Eastern time. –>”. There’s another change too: at the bottom of the page next to the copyright and bla bla, there’s a string of text that says: “updated 01/10”

Hello, little Earthlings. As I was perusing the Earth literary material and looking for a way to pass the time on this planet, I came across a post on the PCB called Shuffleboard.
And for all you fans of this island called Reality TV, (TV? What is this strange Earthling invention?), the name of this image is….
“RealityTVPreview” !! This almost assuredly proves that RTV is in the works, as the last RTV post was quite a while ago.
Shuffleboard seems to be another game in the making; not a multiplayer game but a game against the Reality TV contestants of the island. as you can see, at the top of the image are faces of people (some previewed in earlier RTV sneak peeks) and their ranking in the game. More interestingly, there seems to be a mime in the picture! And shuffleboard will probably be a fun game to play.
Well, enjoy your upcoming trip to this RTV Island, as the natives call it. (This Earth is such a very different place than where I come from.)

[Update] DaVinci: Everyone, there is a new PCB post. I don’t think it’s big enough to merit another PHB post, but there is some pretty sweet info in it – regarding the upcoming membership feature! For example, the Creators hint that “This is key, since we are planning on releasing some pretty sweet islands this year!”
Regarding the many concerns about Poptropica itself still being free, the PCB mentions – “Remember, even if you don’t have credits or membership, the Poptropica Islands are always 100% FREE for all to play!” So, this is ultimately awesome.

There’s a sweet new advertisement on every island on Poptropica… for EVERY AGE. :O I don’t think this has ever happened before! This is a historical moment *tear*. Um, anyway, it’s the Honey Nut Cheerios: Honey Defender Game Ad (Thanks Bobitator for the update!). This advertisement doesn’t have any plot or task; there’s just a costume, a video, and a quiz game. 😀 You just go inside the huge hive and jump around.

Still stuck on this island, I found some people playing a game with small sliding pucks. I don’t think the mime is going to win this one.
It shows some kind of weird game that to me looks similar to pool or something… IDK. The characters above are probably the contestants you are going against in RTV. Some new characters are the chef, the elder woman, train/bus driver (I’m guessing), and the elder man on the right. I think the place where the mime is is where you would be… I’m not sure, it’s just a random guess. 😀

Update: EPIC NEWSFLASH! :O The creators have updated their post with a handy link conveniently placed right beneath the membership video. Upon clicking this link, you reach this informative page (click the word page :O). It seems the creators have answered all of my questions concerning the price of membership and if the costumes, gold cards, and etc. disappear when your membership expires.
Good and bad news. For the bad news, you can’t keep the unlimited costumes and gold cards once your membership ends. 😦 For the good news, HAVE YOU SEEN THOSE PRICES? =D
THAT’S UNBEATABLE! Compared to most web games, Poptropica’s membership prices are super cheap. Seriously! One Gold Card costs $2.50 and with just $.50 more you could get the whole shebang — ALL of the Gold Cards. As a comparison, here are some other web-game membership prices:
1 Month: Poptropica ($2.99) < Free Realms ($4.99) < Club Penguin and Tootsville ($5.95) < Wiglington and Wenks ($5.99) < Chobots ($7.99)
3 Months: Poptropica ($7.99; equivalent to a 1 month membership on Chobots I might add) < Wiglington and Wenks ($16.99)
6 Months: Poptropica ($12.99) < Club Penguin and Tootsville ($29.95) < Chobots and Wiglington and Wenks ($29.99)
1 Year: Poptropica ($17.99; I’m only assuming this, because the prices seem to increase by $5 each time. By the way, this membership thing hasn’t been completely unaware to us. Codien’s post (CLICKEH HERE!) informed us of this imminent feature. We got quite a mixed response with some saying yay and some saying nay. Now that it’s been confirmed, what is your opinion of it now? Leave a comment below. ^_^ By the way, that post was dated January 29, 2009. At time of posting this, it has been more or less ONE YEAR. Speedy time with creating the membership, creators (jk, jk).
It seems that buying a membership would actually be better than just buying costumes and gold cards and early island access passes — because you get all that with a handy dandy membership! Now, there are more questions. Do you get to keep the gold cards and unlimited costumes if your membership runs out? How much will it take out of my money that I could be using to pay for college? So many life-threatening questions.
Also, I noticed something else in the video. Those sneaky creators sneaked in yet another confirmation of Reality TV Island! (Psst, creators. I have kept my patience long enough for Hippie Man. MAKE MY TRIP TO REALITY TV SNAPPY! >:O)
