Shark Boy = Nate Greenwall???

I’m sure all of you remember the post about Nate Greenwall right? Well I think Nate is actually Shark Boy! Take a look at this new post from the PCB:

meinoffice11

And I found this image on another one of Nate’s blogs:

nateOffice1

And yes, that is Nate Greenwall himself. Notice that both offices are the same. Even though some obects were moved, taken away, or added, it is still the same office.

Now that raises another question, who is Comic Kid? The comments on this post contained some possible answers to this question:

Rachel said:
I think that Comic kid = Jeff Kinney, because you know how Jeff Kinney wrote “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”? Well its very cartoony, which makes me think of comics. It’s just a guess, but who knows?

Grey Flame said:
Also, it’s kind of funny that Jeff Kinney’s (Comic Kid?)series is ‘Diary of a Wimpy KID’ and his (maybe) name is Comic KID.
I found that cool 😀

Update! We also have evidence that the Poptropica Creators view this site! Thanks for finding this, Cheerful Claw! A post titled “Poptropica” on Nate’s blog says:

As some of you know or have found out I, along with a lot of other awesome people, work for Poptropica; however, I am NOT the one to email or ask questions about Poptropica. I am like crazy busy – I hardly have time to even look at my blog or even post.

If you do have Poptropica questions here are some good sites to check out:

Wow, that’s awesome – if you click on the words “The Poptropica Help Blog”, it links to the PHB! Hi, Poptropica Creators! 😀

Hermitspeak

What an interesting toungue that words of mystery flow through. Yes, we all know that Hazmat is a bit loopy but this is just weird.

But don’t panic. The languge he is using is a type of Programing language used in computers and preferably games e.g. Poptropica.

If you don’t know, Poptropica is developed with a program called ‘Adobe Flash’. It is a program where anyone can make games and movies with it (I use it too. 😀 I might make a poptropica movie with it too oneday?). The text in the speech bubble below is probably ‘Action Script’ which is from Flash. From Action Script you can run commands and make things happen in the game.
E.g. When you click on this button here. It will make this explode here. WHY DID YOU PRESS IT!

Whether or not this coding is actually from Poptropica or its just Hazmat…being Hazmat, we don’t know. 😛
What do you think?

What we can tell from the script:
It has something to do with a Bomb that will explode at any moment because of some kind of  CD-o-Matic 10,000, but it appears it can be dropped. Phew! BUT MAJORLY ITS HAZMATS SECRET PLAN!
What on earth could that possibly be about. An evil island ruled by Hazmat Hermit? An island covered with toxic waste? What do you think? Comment what you think?

ST posting:
There’s also a new poll on the Creators’ Blog asking, “What is your all-time favorite island?” I voted for Nabooti Island, although Time Tangled comes a close second and Big Nate third in my mind. The majority of Poptropica’s players think a little differently, though. Here are the current results:

Island Name | Percentage
Early Poptropica | 2%
Shark Tooth | 2%
Time Tangled | 5%
24 Carrot | 3%
Super Power | 12%
Spy | 39%
Nabooti | 12%
Big Nate | 22%

Astro-Knights Island, Sneak Peeks

Castlewrecked!

Not shipwrecked. Castlewrecked because of the television-wreck.

The story below is a sequel chapter to the “TV Time” chapter from a previous post on the PHB. Please note that the story below is a work of fiction; written by the PHB Team to entertain its readers. Enjoy!

The Old but New Adventures of Comic Kid
Ned Noodlehead by day, Comic Kid hero by night.

 Chapter 2
Lost in the Wreckage

“I can’t believe this,” moaned Comic Kid. “How could they be showing Sponge Pop Circle Pants instead of the X-Popman Heroes?! What are they THINKING? This is a terrible disgrace! What about Super Pretzel Boy’s fights for crime? And I’m supposed to be his assistant, Super Hot Dog Boy! This CAN NOT be happening!” Frustrated, Comic Kid stormed upstairs and slammed the door.

After he’d finally calmed down (during which he’d fallen asleep on the floor because of his temper tantrum and then woke up), it was already morning and the sun was shining brightly through his pretzel-patterned bedroom curtains. He trudged down to the bathroom and came out feeling very refreshed. Then he hustled into the kitchen to fix himself some breakfast, thinking, Surely Sponge Pop’s silly show has been cancelled by now? But no, when he turned his TV on again, hoping he’d see Super Pretzel Boy handcuffing Sir Rebral, he was so upset that he threw his toast on the ground (which the ants chased after). There was Sponge Pop cooking spaghetti at the B.A.D. Bistro, laughing away. “That’s IT!” he yelled. “I’m gonna have to find another TV. The royal family living in Astro-Knights should have better TV shows than this. Time to get one!” And with that, Comic Kid – or should I say, Ned Noodlehead – strapped on his cape and took off into the skies.

Boom! The wind was moving unusually fast today, and Ned accidentally landed head-first into the vast King and Queen’s castle of Astro-Knights Island. Fortunately, he was okay, but he had a big bruise on his head. “Ugh…” he groaned, struggling to his feet. Then he looked up and all around him. “What on Poptropica has happened to this place? The walls are cracked, the paintings are hanging sideways, the bricks and wooden planks are falling as I speak… it’s a disaster!” Now, where are the TVs?, he thought.

Two hours later, Ned Noodlehead had searched the castle (or at least, the parts he was able to even step on) from top to bottom, finding no TVs. Zero. “Impossible,” muttered NN. But he was very worn out after all that climbing and crawling around the demolished leftovers of the building – if you could call it one now. He didn’t know about any UFO crashes, but he had recognized some parts of the structure from his previous journeys. I wanna go home!, wailed Ned’s brain. So Mr. Noodlehead looked around. But he could find no exits – he could see outside through all the holes and windows, but he wasn’t about to jump out so dangerously! I wish my donkey was here to save me, dreamed Ned hopefully. But of course that didn’t happen. In fact, it looked as if Ned and the donkey would never be reunited together again… He, Ned, was lost, and all he cared about right now was that 1. he was tired, and 2. he wanted to sleep. He found a servant’s bed, and within seconds was fast asleep.

Oh boy, looks like Comic Kid’s having a rough time. We’ll see what happens next… what other disasters are waiting in Astro-Knights Island? 😛

We’ve already received many fantastic entries in our inbox, and love all the creativity you guys have been coming up with so far! _A Special “PHB Monthly Newsletter”_
The First Sunday of Every Month

The PHB Newsletter. A giant mixture of news, events and even competitions. From now on, on the first Sunday of every month we will post this legendary post. It will consist of almost 10 sections for pure Poptropica awesomeness. 😛
That’s right, it’s what you have been dreaming about.

The monthly post will contain things like:

  • “Ask PHB”: Readers can ask questions about Poptropica via e-mail to the PHB staff. We can select about 3 of them to publish per month.
  • Competitions.
  • “PHB Sneak Peeks” – Yes, new ones. 😛
  • Stories: Readers can submit their own short stories to PHB’s e-mail and we can select one for every month, OR we can hire someone to be a “Newsletter Author”, and they will send in a short story/chapter or part of a long story (for each month) to PHB’s e-mail for us to publish each month.
  • Submit Your Own: Let readers submit their own ideas (maybe their dreams of what kind of island they want to see on Poptropica), stories, competition entries, fan art (comics, etc) and more to [email protected].
  • Current News/Monthly Reflection: A summary of what happened in Poptropica for the past month – Sneak peeks, new islands, new ads, etc
  • “Easter Eggs”: In each issue, reveal a secret (known as “Easter eggs”) from Poptropica. (example: typing ‘1225’ in the phone from Nabooti for a Santa hat and sack) or maybe someone besides Dr. Hare.
  • Fan Art: Show a Poptropica-themed poem, comic, drawing, puzzle, or something else created by a Poptropican.

Any more suggestions? Opinions? If you would like to apply for any of these positions, you may start now and send them over to [email protected]. We can’t wait to see our readers’ creativity!

A Note Regarding ‘Poptropica Poll’

As you’ve probably noticed, we have a sidebar widget titled ‘Poptropica Poll’, where there is a Poptropica-related poll that readers may vote on. They used to be changed at random times, but starting this month, they will be changed every time a new PHB monthly newsletter is released (the first Sunday of a month). This month’s new poll will start a little later, probably next week, and will ask the question, “What would you like the PHB’s monthly newsletter to be called?” We will use this to review your suggestions, and when June’s edition of the newsletter comes out, you will find the winning name, as well as a new poll updated for the coming month!

We have the idea. We have the writers. The only problem? We don’t know what to call it.
Comment with your great ideas on this post. Your suggestions may be put into the next poll.
