Photo Booth for Mystery of the Map!

Hey everyone, Spotted Dragon here with another Poptropica update! Twoย posts in one week from SD? What??? Yeah yeah, anyway…

Getting straight to the point, a Mystery of the Map themedย Photo Booth has appearedย onย Home Island! Thanks to Slippery Raptor for the pictures. ๐Ÿ˜› In case you’re wondering why MotM, it’s because the first installment of the graphic novel is coming on March 1st and you can pre-order it now! ๐Ÿ™‚

A whole new set of backgrounds are included…ย as well as many characters that can join you in your photo! Sadly, Octavian is missing. (If you’re interested, you can click to view the full images.)

But that’s not all! If you visit the Photo Booth now, you will also be greeted with a wide variety of new props! From beach to throne room to Viking fort to dining hall, there’s lots to choose from. ๐Ÿ˜€

You can pre-order the Mystery of the Map book now almost anywhere books are sold!

Hey everyone, Spotted Dragon here! Did you like all that alliteration in the title? Eh, I tried. ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway, there are just a few Poptropica updates that you should know about! First off, when you log inย to Poptropica you will be greeted by two cool prizes.ย One of those prizes is a Charlie Brown Shirt and the other is the Pig Pen Power prize (which also just gives you the costume shown on the card, including the dust).

In other news, the Photo Booth has finally been updated for the desktop version of Poptropica! It now includes the Valentine’s Day items and props mentioned in a previous postย that first appeared on the app.

Well, I hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day weekend whether you’re taken and not mistaken or just single and ready to mingle. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy Halloween, Poptropicans! It’s finally time to unveil the winners of this year’s PHB Halloween Competition, which came in two parts: costumes and Photo Booth. We’re celebrating our recent milestone of 20 million hits by choosing 20 winners; 10 for each portion.ย Here we go…

Part I: Costumes

Mirror, mirror on the wall; who’s the scariest of them all? Well, the PHB teamย enjoyed looking at the great number ofย ghastly garbs that dared to enter this hallowed competition, and we’ve finally narrowed it down to ten of this year’s best!ย These guys get the honor of being shown on the front page via this post, as well as having their costumes immortalized on the PHB’s Costumes page. The Creators may have heldย their own Photo Booth Halloweenย challenge,ย but we were first โ€“ and we did promise to award memberships to the winners! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Check out these spine-chilling spectacles created right in Home Island’s Photo Boothย (with a bit of clever image editing in #2)!

If you are one of the Photo Booth winners, check your email for a message from the PHB regarding having your membership awarded to you. #1 gets a 6-month membership, #2 and #3 get a 3-month each, and #4-10 each get a 1-month! Might come in handy for the upcoming Escape from Pelican Rock Island. ๐Ÿ˜›

Hey guys, Spotted Dragon here! Long time no post! I’ll hold off on the whole sorry, school, work, life, etc. speech. Let’s just get right to it. ๐Ÿ˜›

Well, the Creators just added a cool new feature to the game, specifically on Home Island. What is this great new feature you ask? The title of this post says it all: a photo booth! Upon visiting the island, you can find the photo booth next to the Shop. Thanks to Ultimate iPad Expert for the all the pictures!

Once inside, you will be greeted by a panel of buttons on the left of your screen. They are all labeled in the picture below.

The best part about the photo booth is that you can change the entire scene all on your own, including the characters, props, backgrounds, and more! You can either start from scratch, or edit a pre-made template.

And don’t worry… the photo booth is available for everyone! So what are you waiting for? Go to Poptropica now to try it out for yourself. It’s right on Main Street of Home Island (also called Hub or Tutorial Island).

Yeah, this is me showing off my mixtape (which is on fire btw). Other than my amazing photo, check out other creations from some of the other PHB authors below!

I don’t know about you guys, but I really liked this update. However it’s still new, so I hope more tools get added, such as being able to add your friends to the picture, an undo button (although the trash button works well for deleting props), a way to add unique text, etc.
