Hey PHB, it’s Slanted Fish here. If you’re a regular visitor here, you probably know that this site’s URL was blog.poptropicahelp.net. However, it’s expiring and unfortunately, there have been some issues with renewing it.

Therefore, effective August 24, we’re (sadly) no longer using that URL. (We still continue to own poptropicahelp.net, though.) As you can see, we’re currently reverting back to our original link, poptropica.wordpress.com! Just like old days.

There’s a new ad game in ~~Thneedville~~ Poptropica’s Main Streets, because The Lorax is coming to DVD and Blu-Ray this August 2012! Thanks to Fuzzy-B for the notification and prize pics, and Brandon C. for the video walkthrough:

The Once-ler and a Bar-ba-loot are riding down the river in a bed (even though this was the Lorax’s fault, he’s calling for help! haha), and you’ve got to save them. Run to stay ahead of the floating bed and reach the branch in time to save the Once-ler! Be sure to avoid obstacles on the way.

Prizes are Truffula Tree Hair and Marshmallow Rain.

How bad can it possibly be? 🙂

Poptropica Mad Libs and possibly other books?

We all know Poptropica released an Official Guide Book, but while searching the Barnes & Noble website, PHB reader Muddy Axe discovered there could be more Poptropica books to be published!

As many people know, Mad Libs is a popular word game for kids where you pick random words based on parts of speech, then fill it into the blanks of a story for hilarious, nonsensical results. And now, Barnes & Noble lists a book called Poptropica Mad Libs by Roger Price available for pre-order.

There is also a pre-orderable book titled Poptropica Lime 1 by Elizabeth Corfe, and according to Amazon, “This title is part of Pearson’s Bug Club – the first whole-school reading programme that joins books and an online reading world to teach today’s children to read. In this book: Discover the online secrets of Poptropica. This title is suitable for ages 6-7 (Lime level).”

Here come the Dog Days

There’s a new big advertisement game in Poptropica, and it’s for none other than Poptropica creator Jeff Kinney’s upcoming Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, Dog Days!

This YouTube walkthrough from InsidersNetwork shows you all you need to do to win FOUR great prizes: Fruit Smoothie (Hand Item), Fregley’s Bandaid Costume, Soggy Cell Phone, and Dog Bowl.

Fruit Smoothie: from Snack Bar Waiter, a waiter serving game much like the Mystery Train pre-island-release minigame
Fregley’s Bandaid Costume: from the Perfect Splash game a bit like the Diving event from the Poptropolis Games
Soggy Cell Phone: from the Water Ball Bounce, a beach volleyball game played in the pool
