Epic Foolish Flirting with Zeus 📺🔱

Gentle Dolphin

Hey, Poptropicans! Are you ready for some shenanigans?

For the holiday of jokes and fun, enjoy this video I posted of an epic battle between myself and Zeus, set to the song “Six Hundred Strike” from Epic: The Musical. Check it out! 🌩️🔱

And that’s not all! We hope you all enjoyed our riveting interview yesterday with Pop Creator John Jameson, aka Bucky Lucas. But as we confessed in that very post: There is no John Jameson, there is no Princess Elyana movie career, and there is no flirting between El Mustachio Grande and Zeus! Sorry to disappoint.

APRIL FOOLS!!!

We didn’t try to hide our foolish intentions this year, but even still, some people fell for the words from our fictional horse’s mouth. The idea of a El Mustachio Grande x Zeus ship in Super Villain Island was so out there that some of you from the PHC community thought that it had to be real. We hope it gave you a good laugh! 😜

Between the fake interview and silly video, we hope you enjoyed this year’s April Fools offerings! We now return to (slightly more serious) business as usual. Stay tuned for Poptropica news, fan work showcases, and much more!

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Poptropica Lore with Lulaloopsey 🎥💙

Slanted Fish

Hey Poptropicans! We know the game’s gone through a lot over the years… so why not take a pop down memory lane?

Young adult nostalgia YouTuber Lulaloopsey just dropped a video essay delving into Poptropica’s 17-year history, already amassing 20K+ views within the first day of posting. Check it out (mild language warning):

While a lot of the content she covers is documented here on the PHB (thanks for the shout-out 🩵), Lulaloopsey also brings her own perspective and experiences of playing the game as a kid in her deep dive into Poptropica’s lore, which makes this all the more engaging.

Some of the throwback topics she covers include the Mystery of Monster Carnival Island, Mystery of Shark Boy, and how Nickelodeon’s virtual world shaped Pop’s identity. And for more year-by-year explorations, we recommend checking out our Poptropica Yearbook pages.

Thanks for the nostalgia trip, Lulaloopsey!

Keep on poppin’ on,

Funktropica – Poptropica Mod for Friday Night Funkin’ ⬆️🎵⬇️

Slanted Fish

Hey Poptropicans! Any rhythm game players in the house?

Discover Funktropica — a Poptropica mod for the popular musical rhythm game Friday Night Funkin’ (FnF)! Check out the gameplay:

In Friday Night Funkin’ (download here), you use the arrow keys to hit the right keys as they come up on screen. A similar game mechanism has even been seen in some of Poptropica’s ad games. With FnF, the goal is for the main character, Boyfriend, to impress the ex-rockstar dad of his love interest by proving his power in music.

The Funktropica mod puts a Poptropica twist to FnF, giving Boyfriend a Poptropica makeover and facing him off against iconic Pop characters and backdrops: Betty Jetty in the sky, Dr. Hare in the carrot factory, Greg Heffley at the boardwalk, Binary Bard in his castle — plus a few unknown Poptropicans, including a blank template one in Mocktropica.

The original Friday Night Funkin’ game
Funktropica

Funktropica was developed by Eozchar, who writes in the mod description, “I’ve been doing this every summer since 2021, and honestly this skill I’ve learned has helped me greatly.” The first version, ‘Vs Poptropican’, launched in 2021, with yearly updates since, including the recent ‘Funktropica’ version released just this month.

The game’s music consists of several original electronic beats, including a remix of the Poptropica Overture soundtrack in the game menu. There’s even an impressive overworld with an island map taking you to the various scenes in Funktropica!

To play, you’ll need to download FnF first. Once you have FnF, you can then download Funktropica for some Poptropica rhythm jams. Enjoy!

Slanted Fish

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Invisible Ring. Enjoy!

Calling all Poptropica fans (and everyone who knows Poptropica, for that matter)! After a whole year of swashbuckling sequel production comes the feature film you’ve all been waiting for: “Pirates, Camera, ACTION!” And with it comes a big surprise: during production, the movie had gotten so long that I decided to split it into multiple parts!

…So, while I continue to press on with Part 2, Part 1 is now playing with two versions. Here’s the original with silent dialogue:

And here’s the one with audible dialogue. Plus, scroll down to read the blurb of “Pirates, Camera, ACTION!”

In this stupendous sequel to “Battle Morale”, Invisible Ring returns with a forgotten pirate quest. With it comes shipwrecks, shiny souvenirs, swashbuckling competition, and suspense never before seen in Poptropica!

With her faithful first mate by her side, this pirate Poptropican sets out to find the most monumental treasure ever buried in the sands of Poptropica… before the sands of time run out, that is.

So spread the word! Around the clock, and around the all-time most cherished island world, the race for the most monumental treasure of Poptropica is ON! Don’t miss it.

Night Watch: It’s no small decision to take the black.

Invisible Ring’s Theatrical Previews 🎞️

Slanted Fish

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Invisible Ring. Enjoy!

Silver Screen: It’s one of our favorite famous monsters of filmland.

You may know that previews are the commercials that come right before a movie in the cinema. Guess what? My long-awaited Poptropica fan movie “Pirates, Camera, Action!” is almost here! And what is a movie premiere without its annoyingly long list of ads and trailers?

…Yes, for this guest post, I’m showcasing every Poptropica commercial I’ve made. But although the list is unbearably long, I doubt you’ll think the ads themselves are unbearable. These commercials have all been made with fun and quality in mind.

As for my pirate movie, stay tuned, for soon, it will premiere right here on the PHB! Until then, get some milk to drink and enjoy the previews…
