In the U.S., it’s been announced that the United States Postal Service is going to quit delivering on Saturdays to save money. It seems the Creators have a response for that; they have a response for everything.
Notice that on the lockers, there are names of Creators, like Ashley Lange, Nasan Hardcastle, Jennifer Wood, Christopher Barney…
This could also double as a cameo for Virus Hunter Island. See “Test Subjects Wanted” on the bulletin board.
“See what happens without Saturday delivery?”
Clever.
That’s all I wanted to share today, so I’ll see you next time!
Thanks to PHB reader Aang, we’ve got the name for our next Poptropica island – Virus Hunter Island! It turns out that Poptropica artist Nasan Hardcastle has posted pictures on his blog for characters he has designed, including this image below of what looks like characters for the next island:
EDIT: About a day after this PHB post, the image above was taken down. Looks like someone’s been checking up on us! But they can’t take back what we now know. ;D
(By the way, check out Nasan’s site, Soft-Shack, for more cool Poptropica artwork.) A Whois search for virushunterisland.com confirms that Poptropica has owned the domain since March 12, 2013, and it even re-directs to Poptropica. Hmmm…
You may remember or have noticed the Daily Pop sneak peeks featuringย Poptropicans exploring the human body’s interior, which shows us that the next island, Virus Hunter, will involve exploring a Poptropican’s insides. Plus, from the characters above, we can see it has something to do with a gym. Cardio exercise time!
Now… what about Dr. Lange? (First of all, is she named after Poptropica designer Ashley Lange? Creators’ inside joke, perhaps?) Silver Wolf and BT think she may be a suspicious character (evidently, red goggles + lab coat = PURE EVIL). But who knows?
So… Virus Hunter Island! Get excited like an electron in an excited state! (*ahem* chemistry joke) Stay tuned to the PHB for more updates!
Hey guys, BT here. Now should I start with the joking or non-joking part? I’ll start with the (possibly joking) part.
Captain Crawfish has announced Poptropica 3D HD. Or is it HD 3D? Whatever.
And 3D images from Skullduggery Island are there.
Andย low-priced $999.95 3D glasses. (Shipping and handling not included; available 1/01/14)
And suppossedly Jeff Kinney “approves” in a fake-looking quote.
Now, before you break your piggy banks, I’m pleased to remind you of today’s date: April 1st. There. Put the hammers down. Good. Besides, I have a pair of 3-D glasses stashed in a DVD that works with that image and for only $20 something dollars.
But like the nose thing last year, I don’t think this is really happening. I think this is the Creators way of mocking technology with its HD and 3D yakkity yak these days. XD
Now, not everything is a joke today. I actually found a promotion for Back Lot Island in the weirdest spot.
So I wasย wandering around on Night Watch Island when I encountered an ad.
No. It wasnโt an ordinary ad, though.
Soโฆ this is new. The Creatorsย using the advertising spot to take a picture with Back Lot Islandโs Kirk Strayer: well-known actor since 2 weeks ago. If you talk to him, heโll say:
So you enterโฆ
Those seem like epic images. And you click take photoโฆ andย a new photo is added to your album!
Now, Iย think there are a bunch of possibilities for your picture. Here they are:
…
…
Well…
…on second thought, I think this is the only result you get. I laughed at this, considering the epic preview images in the first screen when you first enter XD.
Oh well. At least we finally know who Kirk Strayer is. But what will go on with him in Back Lot Island? Only time will tell.
Hey there Poptropicans! In case you haven’t been frequenting the Daily Pop in the past few weeks, this post will catch you up on some of the sneak peeks. Currently we’re seeing a biology-related adventure in the works and it looks like this time, we’re exploring the anatomy! Check ’em out:
24-Hour Bug – Sometimes, all you can do is ride it out.
At Arm’s Length – I’ve got you under my skin.
Dash Away – You can’t live inside a bubble forever.
Enemy Within – Antibodies, or anti-your-body?
Exit Next Left – Yummy in your tummy.
Insane in the Membrane – This island will get into the fiber of your being.
Lab Session – The answers to science’s greatest mysteries are found here.
Lose It – Make time for exercise every day.
Outta Sight Erythrocyte – These RBCs have places to go.
Splintered – Watch out for jagged pieces.
Pearly Whites – The tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth.
Market Leaders – Building the future, one day at a time.
(Click on an image to enlarge it.) Viruses, red blood cells, molecular structures, and more await in this island! Science geeks should be pleased. In other news…
Hey guys, BT here. First of all, the mall cop adventure, Night Watch Island, is now available to the public! If you’re having a hard time coping with Eddie the coral snake and a burglar on the loose, check out our Night Watch Island guideย here.
First of all, here’s the trailer that makes you really feel like you’re watching a cartoon:
And people say that making a movie isn’t all fun and games. And here’s what the info page says:
The greatest filmmaker of all time has come out of hiding, and he needs your help to make his masterpiece. But will you be producing the next big blockbuster, or is there trouble in tinseltown? From the first frame to the final cut, it’s lights, camera, action!
So… we’re making a movie? Hmm… I wonder what it would be? Now, here’s the Bonus Quest information, which brings some distressing news for our poor Poptropican characters:
The back lot’s owners have returned– and they want you off their property! Can you outrun studio security and get away with a valuable souvenir? Find out how to get membership now!
Oh great. -_- . But why would our Poptropicans, usually selfless, want to steal bring along some sort of souvenir?
Now, here’s the desktop wallpaper:
So is that the famed filmmaker the main island description was talking about? Sheesh, he’s a stern-looking fellow.
And here’s the printable poster:
I see an award winner (who looks like Audrey Hepburn), old fashioned comedy, diva, some Elvis Presley looking guy, a director with a clapboard, some King Kong style thing, the director guy, a female pilot, a Wild West style thing (wait, is that Elmer?), a Gollum look-a-like (from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies), and The Hobo guy (A spoof on The Hobbit) on a Hollywood style background. Hmm…
And here’s the Member’s Only Gold Cards:
So what do you think of this upcoming Back Lot Island?
