Arabian Nights Island, Graphic Novels, PoptropiCon Island, Realms

MotM p. 22-25, wolf club Realms, & more

Hey Poptropicans! Slippery here.

First up, here are the latest Mystery of the Map pages (p. 22-25)! Check them out below, or read from the start on the graphic novel page!

The gang has discovered a Viking ship – what could happen next? It looks like Octavian has lost the map. Maybe it’s with Mya and the gang!

On another note, the first episode of PoptropiCon (Line Forms Here) is now free on the Poptropica iOS app! Need any help in entering the con? Check out the PHB’s PoptropiCon Island Guide!

con1 carouselSpeaking of the app, I noticed something about the description of the update. Here’s what it says:

New mini-game! Escape from Monkey Island featuring the characters Jorge and Oliver from the beloved Poptropica Comic Strip.

However, when I updated the app, there was no Monkey Island mini-game, just the GHD Jack Chase mini-game (which isn’t new). Maybe they’re related to the comic-island sneak peeks in the Daily Pop?

Moving along, there are a couple of new Poptropica Realms videos in the Creators’ Inside Poptropica playlist. Here, a well-dressed wolf shows us how to build wolf-inspired home bases. It’s really cool and pretty amazing. Check it out!

Also, Poptropica tweeted another rejected concept art for the princess in the third episode of Arabian Nights. Curious about why the princess is so sad? Check out BT’s theory about that here!

arab3princessLast but not least, you may notice something new when you visit Poptropica.com: at the bottom of the homepage, there’s a KidSafe seal from COPPA certifying Poptropica as a kid-friendly program! I think many players knew that already, but it’s great to see Poptropica getting recognized. 🙂

That’s all of the recent updates over at Poptropica for now. Tell us what you think in the comments!

Graphic Novels, Realms

MotM p. 17-21, book publication plans, & Realms videos!

Hey Poptropicans – pages 17–21 of Mystery of the Map are here, which you can read below. To stay up-to-date with the series, you can read every page on Poptropica’s official graphic novel site area!

Speaking of the graphic novel, Poptropica has big plans for this origin story: they’re looking into publishing it as a 12-book series, with two being published per year. Wow, that’s ambitious!

On a different note, here are a couple of Realms recently tweeted by Poptropica (with this note: “from the curious…to the upside down!”):

But that’s not all! They’ve also added a few new Realms-related videos to the Inside Poptropica playlist on their YouTube channel, which you can view below (Captain Crawfish explores Spotted Beetle’s caravan, Dr. Lange builds Ashworld Tower and also a Pyramid):

For tips on this Minecraft-like feature, check out our Poptropica Realms Guide!

In other news, the Dressgate costume of last weekend has worn out its stay, so to speak, and is no longer available. Hope you had fun with the obviously black-and-blue dress while it was here. 😉

MotM video, p. 14-16, questions answered, & more

Hey guys! Lots of popping news to be shared today. Mystery of the Map pages 14-16 have been released, but first, a video. It is a trailer for the entire volume of MotM.

Pretty simple, but still cool. Okay, now time for the latest pages (click to enlarge):

While still on the topic of Mystery of the Map, Brave Tomato helped us learn a really cool fact about the series: of the two siblings, Mya is older than Oliver!

Hmm, I never thought about who was older. Great question BT! 🙂

Here are some more Q&A’s between curious Poptropicans and Poptropica itself have given us some insight on a few things regarding the Poptropica origin story and app:

  • In addition to the comics and graphic novel we’ve seen so far, Poptropica’s origin story will also be told via animation. (see tweet)
  • Mya is not in the comics because they “provide little room in which to work”. (see tweet)
  • Poptropica is working on an app for the Amazon Kindle, and hoping to release it 3 months from now. (see tweet)
  • A Windows Store app for Poptropica is not on the development plan, but they’re watching closely for an opportunity. (see tweet)

Also, PopStorm #16 is now out. This one depicts a Poptropican style bug battle. Hehe, cute. 😛

Moving on, Poptropica has featured a lot of amazing Realms creations this week on Twitter, from Frozen re-constructions to unique tree designs. Great work, Poptropicans! 😀

That’s all for now!

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks, Graphic Novels, Realms

MotM pages 8-9, Vikings, & Realms

Hey Poptropicans – pages 8 and 9 of Mystery of the Map are here, which you can read below. To stay up-to-date with the series, you can read every page on Poptropica’s official graphic novel site area!

Looks like an interesting story so far! 😀

Over on the Daily Pop, many of the sneak peeks this month have been for the upcoming final episode of Arabian Nights – but in the mix is this character sheet for a bunch of Vikings (and what appears to be a dodo bird). Could this be for something entirely new? As Tiny Socks points out, this looks like it could be for an adventure (island? ad?) based on the graphic novel, since we’ve previously seen these characters in Mystery of the Map sneak peeks like this one or this one.

Norse Code: You won’t be liking these Vikings.

Just for fun: the PHB’s Daily Pop Sneak Peek Archive is a great place to peruse every single Daily Pop image and witty caption from over the years. 🙂

And finally, here’s the latest selection of featured Realms tweeted by Poptropica: a colosseum and house design by “ST”! They’re also interested in seeing (and sharing) fan videos of Realms like these.

Stay popping, Poptropicans. ^^

Mystery of the Map (p. 5-7), Jorge’s name, & more!

Salutations, Poptropicans! Omegon here- *takes off Omegon mask* Ugh, why did I resort to buying this thing off the convention floor? This thing smells like bad cheese. And I should know, I attend the World Cheese Festival every year, I’ve tasted 37 kinds.

Anyway, what’s popping, Poptropicans? Blake here, bringing you pages 5 through 7 of Mystery of the Map! Click to enlarge the pictures.

Interesting! Now, I’m assuming that our four heroes are entering the world of Poptropica? Looks like this is the origin story I requested from Poptropica!

By the way, for those wondering, the Creators pronounce Jorge’s name “hor-hey”, not “George” – but “you can pronounce it any way you wish”. 🙂

Stay tuned for more pages as they’re released!

In other news, the Poptropica mobile app recently reached 2 million downloads! Congrats! 😀

Also, Poptropica composer Jeff Heim recently posted the “Crystal Realm” soundtrack on his Soundcloud. Plus, keep an eye out for more of his music, because he says he’ll “be posting more from Realms over the next few weeks”!

Nice. Peaceful. Tranquil.

Lastly, there’s a new banner for Membership on the Poptropica homepage:

For more info on what it means to be a Poptropica Member, as well as some help on deciding whether it’s worth it, we’ve got a Poptropica Membership Tour right here on the PHB. 😉

Stay popping, Poptropicans.
