April Fashion Brings Woodworks Clashin’ ๐Ÿชตโš”๏ธ

Hello, everyone! Time to check out the latest Pop updates. But first, a word from our sponsor: ME! Don’t worry, Slanted Fish gave me permission.

This week, I have been hosting a “Favorite Poptropica Character Tournament” on Twitter! In spite of the public outcry regarding certain matchups, it has been fun watching the votes and tears pour in. Round 2 is currently underway, and you reading the PHB can participate! You can vote for your favorites via Twitter, or this Google Forms poll! ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ๐Ÿ†

Now we return to our regularly scheduled blogging. Adventure Outfitters welcomed a new display just in time for April. Out with the green stuff, and in with the stylin’ fits. Paired with the chic fashion are a few random goodies like a smiling cloud, a reversible octopus plush, a jetpack, and a rideable bug.

As pointed out by Dizzy Feather on the Poptropica Help Chat, this month’s selection of items is near identical to last April’s display. While recycling monthly displays isn’t new for Poptropica, it gets old for players itching to collect new gear. It’s almost like they’re saving the new stuff for members, “wooden” you think?

Speaking of which, April’s member gifts have flown into paying players’ inventories. Members can now don the Woodworks Outfit, Woodworks Sword, and Woodworks Wings. While the wings won’t carry you through the wind, they can pop in and out for a cool visual effect.

“Wood” you like a membership? Enter our monthly free membership giveaway for a chance to win one! ๐ŸŽ

Finally, here are some fan art features from Pop’s recent Instagram stories. As per usual, we have art of fan-favorite characters along with oodles of OCs! Click the artists’ names for the full posts.

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Spring forward to Mission Atlantis ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒŠ

Hello, everyone! It’s time to spring into action and cover the latest Pop news. Let’s dive in!

The aquatic adventure, Mission Atlantis Island, received two updates on Haxe this week. Members can now dive into Episode 2: Fortress of the Deep, and non-members can finally play Episode 1: Into the Deep, which had been locked behind a paywall for over a year! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿคฟ

If you can’t wait to explore all of Atlantis, you can play the rest of Mission Atlantis (and plenty of other islands) on Steam or with AS3 Flashpoint. And for a helping hand, don’t miss our Mission Atlantis Island Guide!

As you might have noticed, in the above photo, my island progress bars are empty! Some players have experienced this glitch as well. Don’t worry; your years of progress haven’t been deleted. Revisiting an island sets its progress bar back to normal, but it empties again the next time you log in. Let’s hope this glitch gets fixed soon. ๐Ÿคž

Before you dive into the depths of Mission Atlantis, stop and smell the flowers on Home Island. The cold winter snow has melted away, and spring has sprung with a colorful array of plant life. Why not celebrate with a seasonal look from Adventure Outfitters? ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘—

But wait, there’s more from outside of the game! Here are some recent fan art features from Pop’s Instagram stories. The Creators love all of the fan art they get, even if they forget about some of the things that they made over the years. ๐Ÿ˜… Click the artists’ names for the full posts!

Spring blooms with costumes ๐Ÿ€

Hey Poptropicans โ€” new lines, same story. Pop in for store switch-ups, fan art features, and the questionable meme of the week!

Over at Adventure Outfitters, both pets and players get to enjoy a new rotation of costumes, in addition to the “green stuff” on the shop floor.

Though the Pop Creators might not be doing much lately (where are you, Baron?) , the fan community is keeping the flame going with lots of creative work recently featured on Pop’s Instagram stories. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Be sure to click the artists’ names to check out their full posts, including a short story about a Pelican Rock prisoner!

Also on IG, Poptropica welcomed in the spring season with a meme featuring Home Island icon, Amelia. And that’s the tea this week… โ˜•๏ธ

Villainous Fashion: Dr. Hare in Designer ๐Ÿ•ถ๐Ÿฅ•

Poptropica’s been in quite the dry spell these past few months, but every so often, the Pop Creators still throw us a few crumbs of entertainment.

A new meme on Twitter showcases how to mimic Dr. Hare’s style IRL with a collection of refined items, from a hot pink Valentino jumpsuit to… Walmart bunny ears. ๐Ÿฐ Thanks, Poptropica Fashion Week!

Leave it to Poptropica to dress Dr. Hare in designer…

It’s been a while, but this week Pop finally popped back into the Instagram game with a host of story highlights. Enjoy!

And no, unfortunately so far this little spike in activity hasn’t translated to the game or the official blog, which hasn’t offered any updates in a hot month. Yes, we’re here in the middle of March, still waiting to hear about January’s costume contest winner and the Baron’s disappearance, with the airship last seen in December. All the fancy styles on social media can’t make us forget the missing substance of the game…

Return of the Pop Quizzes and Candy Crazed

Hey Poptropicans, pop in for quizzical and historical craziness! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿญ

This past week, players have noticed an interesting feature popping up upon login: daily questions! It’s reminiscent of the former Pop Quizzes feature from the Flash days, though without cute accompanying illustrations nor a place to show off your answers on your profile.

The “daily questions” don’t seem to show up for everyone or all the time. So far, unlike previous Pop Quizzes, they’ve been preoccupied with pop culture, asking about preferences on social media platforms (TikTok or Instagram?) and TV shows (Wednesday or Stranger Things?). Curiously, these topics beckon towards a demographic of ages 13+, older than Poptropica’s purported audience of pre-teens. ๐Ÿค”

Despite leaning towards older players with the new pop quizzes, however, it seems the gameplay is still gearing towards much younger kids! The Candy Crazed Mini Quest from 2021 has returned to offer credits for replays of the gumdrop-grabbing game. Find it on the map or via Master Huggles on Home Island, and check out our guide here! ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ

Speaking of Home Island, though, there’s still no sign of the Baron’s airship this month. Curiouser and curiouser…

It hasn’t escaped our notice that the Pop Creators have been quieter than usual this month. Only days away from the end of February, we’re finally seeing the month’s first post on the Creators’ Blog โ€” and it’s a guest post, on the heels of a previous one by the same writer.

This time, guest blogger Invisible Ring takes a look back at the original cast of Creators that would post on the official blog. Though there were aliases aplenty, her Field Trip Files focus on a few, analyzing their roles with links to old posts: Vlad the Viking as Photographer, Comic Kid as Cartoonist and Investigator, Binary Bard as Spy… and she’d be remiss not to make a mention of herself โ€” Possible Infiltrator indeed! ๐Ÿ‘€

If you enjoyed this peek into a more personable past, you might also like our Poptropica Creators Database, where we matched up some of the former Pop team’s real identities with their alter egos.

Veteran players everywhere reminisce about the work ethic, experience, and punctuality of this team, talking about the old days of how these ancient masters would run the island world like a well-oiled machine.

Invisible Ring (guest post here)

How ironic to have this shared by the current team, hmm? ๐Ÿ˜œ Yet Ring concludes with hope: “Sensational moments were possible for them, and theyโ€™re possible for us, too.” Let’s hope so!
