Atlantis Ep. 2 on iOS, costume inflation, & sticker book

Hey Poptropicans! There’s been a lot of speculation flying around the PHB recently, from Thor’s hammer and Norse mythology connections to Legendary Swords crystals and even Poptropolis shaking! But there’s also some concrete stuff happening that’s worth mentioning, so let’s take a look.

Mission Atlantis: Episode 2 now on iOS app

Mission Atlantis: Fortress of the Deep (Episode 2) is now available on Poptropica’s iOS app. If you don’t want to navigate the treacherous waters alone, check out our written walkthrough (with pictures) or use a video from our trivia page to get you past the fearsome goblin shark and more!

Price hike on sausage costumes

Both the Hot Dog and Tofu Dog costumes, released to the Poptropica Store in 2010, are currently 150 credits each. (With a few exceptions, costumes are generally 75 credits each.) I’m not sure when or why exactly their price inflated, as they’re not exactly the most glamorous costumes out there. 😛

(Speaking of the Store, the members-only Ringmaster costume which was supposed to be gone after the Early Access period of Monster Carnival Island is still here, several months later. It’s a great costume though, so hopefully it stays!) Well, at least members can get everything in the Store for free.

Sticker book is here

Also, the Poptropica Ultimate Sticker Collection book is now available, with over 1000 re-usable stickers as promised! You can get it for US$11.69 on Amazon or perhaps your local bookstore if they’re awesome enough to stock these.

In other news, don’t forget the PHB’s 6th anniversary party is this Saturday, July 26th, and we hope to see you there! More information can be found in this post. Thanks for popping by! 😀

First Arabian Nights Daily Pops… and a new DS game?

Hey guys, BT here with a few updates from the Poptropica universe.

Somewhere right now in South Carolina, our CYDI winner Sarah must be squealing in delight, because the first two Daily Pops obviously for her winning island, Arabian Nights Island, have surfaced:

Desert and… desert station. This is really an obvious Arabian Nights Daily Pop – which leaves me to wonder if this island’s episodes are gonna criss-cross PoptropiCon’s episodes, just like Survival and Mission Atlantis.

Now anyways, if you’ve looked at the Creator’s Blog recently, you’ll notice that they changed their side format… again. Of course we have our two apps, the books, the shirts, and the video games links all snug next to each othe—

Wait…what is that picture next to the Video Games link? That doesn’t look familiar… It doesn’t look like the original Poptropica Adventures cover…

Yet I can kinda see the Ubisoft logo on the new cover….

It looks to me like there’s gonna be a Poptropica Adventures 2!!

But wait… when I look closer… I see two words… For some strange reason, it reminded me of the Forgotten Islands app… Yet I see pictures of the red ninja, the Aztec warrior, that pirate from Forgotten Islands and…I can’t tell who’s the last one.

What’s going on here?? I have no clue. After all, not an ounce of this is mentioned on the videogame page itself…

BT out with this puzzlement….

Oh, and don’t forget to check out HP’s post about PoptropiCon’s…er… officialness. Yay!

LEGO Poptropica, Survival Island

Van Buren inspiration, more fan LEGO, and the PPN story!

Hi Gs,

What isn’t happening in the world of Poptropica? Prepare to have your mind blown with all the new things happening in the Poptropica universe! 😀

Van Buren inspiration

PHB reader JLBblue2003 recently discovered something about the antagonist of Survival Island — he’s based on yet another character from the classic Robin Williams movie, Jumanji. If you’ve ever seen the film, you may remember an angry hunter that chases the movie’s main characters around with a barrel shot gun and a wicked ‘stache. He bears an uncanny resemblance to Van Buren.

If that wasn’t enough, the hunter from the movie is named Van Pelt! Such resemblance. 😛

More Fan LEGO creations

Blake recently posted about a new LEGO creation made by a fan called TheFastComet, but if you check out the page of the project you’ll find even more from the set. The small rock acts a containment unit for swords! Also, check out that flag. 😛

legoEvile

That’s pretty neat, but if you check out Fast Comet’s other creation, Binary Bard’s Citadel, you can see how awesome LEGO Poptropica could be.

legoPoptropicaBinary

He plans to do more, so keep up to date on his E. Vile creation update page. The next project of his is the red rocket from Legendary Swords. Go support him for more awesome Poptropica creations! And while you’re at it, check out Dr. Hare (not the official one) on LEGO Cuusoo for more awesome ideas. 🙂

And it turns out that the original LEGO Cuusoo project from Poptropica was rejected because another project was chosen instead — a Ghostbusters project. Bah. 😛

The Story of the PPN

Remember the Poptropica Police Network that I posted about a while back? Turns out some evil things have happened to it, and I’ve told the story of how these things happened here. I’d love if you could take the time to read the story, it’s fully illustrated and explains everything. 😀

Sorry about the Poptropicast, guys. I was delayed — but I will get it done sometime this month. 😛

LEGO Poptropica

Passing the legendary brick-built torch

What’s popping, Poptropicans? Blake here, with a little tidbit of news from the Creators’ Blog. The Creators have officially announced that the Poptropica LEGO set has been…

TURNED DOWN FOR WHAT *cue bass drop and people smashing flower pots*

But all jokes aside, the Creators have passed the brick-built torch onto none other than TheFastComet’s Legendary Swords LEGO CUUSOO project, which can be seen below. You can also see more details and descriptions on his official LEGO ideas page.

This set is amazing in my opinion, and at least now we have confirmation that the Creators’ own Dr. Hare LEGO set has been canned, although the PHB did report this finding at least four months ago. Now we have this one to root for! Stay popping, Poptropicans.

1000+ Poptropica stickers in a book: coming soon!

Hey Poptropicans! The Pop Creators have just announced that a new book, the Poptropica Ultimate Sticker Collection, will be coming soon – releasing in the US starting July 21 and currently available for pre-order on Amazon for US$11.69. Here’s a preview of the cover and an inside page:

Though if you’ve been following the PHB, you may remember that HPuterpop discovered the sticker book’s cover back in April – and not only that, he discovered that the graphic was already used somewhere before. (You can read more about it in his post.) Whether it was for the sticker book or not, we don’t know, but half of what’s now the book cover design has been around for quite some time! 😛

TimeTravelStickerBook

Anyway, this ultimate sticker book boasts an impressive offer of over 1,000 re-usable full-color stickers, and as we can see from the preview “24 Carrot” page, some info about each sticker graphic as well. There’s even some new information that doesn’t appear in-game: the mayor’s name is McTeague and the waitress is called Flo. I wonder what else will be new in this book?

Also, check out the latest tweet on Poptropica’s official Twitter: it’s an image from this very site, the Poptropica Help Blog, which means they’ve been visiting us! 😀 And there’s my Poptropican! 🙂 It’s from about five months ago, taken from Blake’s post back in January about Cosmoe from the Funbrain graphic novel Galactic Hot Dogs appearing in a common room.

Cool, eh? Stay popping, Poptropicans. 😉
