24 Carrot Island, Poptropica Worlds

Remastered Islands are the Best of Both Worlds

Hey Poptropicans, it’s Slanted Fish!

Many months ago, before Poptropica Worlds was announced, we theorized that the classic 24 Carrot Island would be remade with some tweaks, such as a new barn space and funny-looking rats.

Well, a sneak peek leak has surfaced showing off a Worlds-ified 24 Carrot Island on the map, courtesy of a video from Family Education (with thanks to Young Hippo and Yujo_Jacy_the_Jumpy_Coyote for the tip):

In the video, we also see this somewhat different view of the Home Island on Worlds:

Here we see a number of changes from the usual: the Daily Spin wheel is yellow and blue, a stand-in character is wearing a Viking warrior costume, there’s an ad for Goldfish FUN, the blimp doesn’t have the engine (which is how it looks on Original Pop), and the house is more cottage-style. What could all this mean?

On a somewhat related note, the official Poptropica FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page was recently updated to answer many questions about the new Poptropica Worlds. Below, we’ll highlight some of the more interesting insights from the new FAQ.

faq

You can check out the new questions by clicking here – and thanks goes to idk for pointing it out! Important insights include:

  • Poptropica Worlds will have a mix of remastered old islands as well as brand new ones. They won’t come all at once, but more stuff is on its way – and it seems quite likely that 24 Carrot will be one of the first remastered islands!
  • House expansions are coming (hence the locked doors in your player house), but they will be for members only.
  • Coins (in Poptropica Worlds) are separate from credits (in Original Poptropica).
  • Due to different art styles, you cannot import your clothes, items, and look from Worlds to Original Poptropica, or vice versa. What you can keep, however, is your name, gender, and membership status.
  • Poptropica Worlds should work seamlessly on any device – whether on your computer, phone, or tablet!

Isn’t that right, Balloon Boy? How’s the signal up there?

And if you’ve been experiencing some bugs when playing Poptropica Worlds, hang on – they’re working on some updates to fix some issues very soon.

In fact, Poptropica offers the following advice if you’re stuck with a glitch:

  1. Try refreshing your browser.
  2. Try logging out of Poptropica Worlds and closing the browser window you have it open in – or by force-closing the app if you are on a mobile device.
  3. Go into your internet history options and clear your Cookies and Cache.
  4. Regarding not being able to grab the Egg on Crisis Caverns: you have to stand in a very specific place to grab it. (But they’re working on a fix for that!)

If you continue to have problems, you should contact Poptropica’s customer support at poptropica.com/help. Your feedback helps them identify and solve problems!

Don’t stop popping, Poptropicans!

24 Carrot Island, Books

The End of Dye-me

Hey guys, my name is Brave Tomato, and I have some interesting stuff to share with you all today! Be warned: Spoilers for an upcoming book ahead.

The fourth Poptropica graphic novel, The End of Time, now has a cover and synopsis, as seen on its Amazon page! Check out this whirlwind of a cover:

end of time

And behold the synopsis (there does seem to be a spoiler-y tidbit for the end of the third graphic novel, however, so tread carefully):

Following the epic penultimate conclusion of The Secret Society, Oliver, Mya, and Jorge find themselves at an impasse: The Protectors’ headquarters lie in ruins; the nefarious Octavian is nowhere to be found; and they have no idea how their tampering with the timeline of Poptropica might affect history. As our heroes band together to save the mysterious, uncharted island world and find a way home, they are reminded of crucial events from their pasts—including how they were transported to Poptropica in the first place. The trio suddenly finds itself in the heart of Poptropica, where the Protectors discover the nexus of all time and are offered the opportunity to see what their lives would be like if they could change just one thing from their pasts. But will they choose to go down these alternate paths? Filled with heart and humor, this is the breathtaking finale Poptropica fans have been waiting for.

There’s a lot to take away from this synopsis. Yes, it does seem that the fourth graphic novel, as mentioned in Mitch Krpata’s interview from way back when, will be the finale of the Poptropica graphic novel series. (At least for the foreseeable future.)

Secondly… well, it seems like there’s going to be some intriguing stuff in the finale: changing fates, a ruined society, impasses… seems like everything’s all coming to a head here, ye who are fans of the graphic novel series! Don’t forget, the fourth (and final) book will come out September 12!

As for Book 3, that’s coming up sooner: it will be out in bookstores and will start shipping (if you pre-ordered) on April 11, a little under a month away.

Book 3 spoilers ahead: The Amazon listing for Book 3, The Secret Society, now contains a couple of spreads from inside the book: pages 50-51 and 74-75 respectively (oddly enough right smack in the middle of the story). You can check them out below if you’re interested, or shield your eyes away if you don’t want to see it just yet!

Anyway, what’s your first impression on The End of Time? How are you feeling about The Secret Society? If you’re a fan of the graphic novel series, are you excited? Share your thoughts in the comments!

In other (less exciting) news, a new how-to video was recently posted on the Poptropica Creators’ YouTube channel, demonstrating how to change your Poptropican’s hair color on 24 Carrot Island. Although you may already know how to do so, here’s the video in case you either don’t know or just want to see it!

Nice Bruno Mars reference to start off the video, by the way. 😉 🥕 It was pretty inevitable.

BT out!

24 Carrot Island, Guest Posts, Popspiracy Theories

Popspiracy: Munch on the New 24 Carrot!

(Hey Poptropicans! This Popspiracy theory about a remade 24 Carrot Island is a guest post by Shaky Skunk, who regularly blogs on her site, Poptropica Skunk Blog. Check it out, and enjoy! – 🐠)

popspiracy

Wait – hold the phone… 24 Carrot Island is going to be remade for New Poptropica?! I’ve got compelling evidence to think so. Who knows, maybe other islands could also get remade! 😀

Our first piece of evidence is this sneak peek that was released on the Daily Pop a while back:

Hay There: This one is a real barnstormer.
Hay There: This one is a real barnstormer.

Take a look at the setting of this image. The skies are brown and it’s located inside a barn, just like the one on 24 Carrot Islandthe barn we can’t enter in the current version. The text on the barrel and crate have incomplete lettering on them – enough to speculate that it reads “Funny Bunny”, which is the name of the farm according to the sign there. Additionally, the man in the picture is wearing a hat with two pink rabbit ears.

Just the day before, there was another sneak peek – that of a homeless man. There is a bit of a similarity between the new design and this character from the current 24 Carrot – could the new guy be a remake of him?

24carrothomeless

Plus, remember those rat sneak peeks on the Daily Pop we all complained about? And how there’s a rat inside the factory on 24 Carrot? The newer rat might just be that critter.

Our final piece of evidence is a minor detail I found at the top of the monster worm picture from the recent New Poptropica sneak peek. Oddly enough, they’ve removed the pic from the official Creators’ Blog post, but you can still see it below. Among the file names up top, there are four that sound like they could belong on a new 24 Carrot Island – “Char_Rig_Cook.ai”, “Char_Rig_Cook_whiteskin.ai”, “Char_Rig_CrazyComet.ai”, and “body_parts_CC.ai”.

If you don’t remember Crazy Comet, he’s one of the four children that got kidnapped by Dr. Hare to become one of the drones working in the factory. As for the Cook character(s), they may be workers in the Carrot King Diner.

24carrotmissingkids

What do you think? Could the worm be related to 24 Carrot Island, and steal/protect the carrots? Who knows… I’m just sad that the first island wasn’t something like Early Poptropica, but you never know.

St. Patrick’s Day gifts – Leprechaun Follower and Costume!

Hi Gs,

Today is St. Patrick’s Day and Poptropica is recognizing this with a couple of free items – the Leprechaun Costume from the Store is free for today, and a new Leprechaun Follower which can only be obtained if you visit Mythology Island. Odd placement!

On the follower, it says to go the 24 Carrot Island diner, mix yellow and blue, and drink it to get green hair. It also has a button that allows you to travel to the diner.

For the costume, if you press space bar while wearing it, you’ll do a comical little Irish jig! Here’s a gif of Skinny Moon doing the dance.

It’s also notable that the post on the Creators’ Blog about these items is the first post by “Skinny Moon” (Jessica from social media). I’m excited to see future posts from her! 🙂

Update: In other news, Poptropica Realms is back! Bugs have been fixed, so the experience should be smoother. Check out our Realms Guide and get building!

24 Carrot Island

Why 24 Carrot Island?

24carrotwhy

Hi Gs,

I was thinking the other day – what made 24 Carrot Island so special that it became the first SUI? While 24 Carrot BETA Carrotene was cool, it seemed a bit odd that instead of the very first island, the Creators chose such an oddball island as the first to grace with music and a larger screen. Early Poptropica Island was the first island, and it would seem appropriate to start with the first and work your way through updating islands. So why didn’t they do just that? I have a theory; A GAME THEO–
