NPC Popularity Contests, Sneak Peeks

Here fishy, fishy! It’s Medicine Man!

Note: Please do not repeat “new post” when someone else has already said it! The PHB has decided that we will not be giving any credits for posts where more than one person has spoken of it. For both sneak peeks shown below, unfortunately, this has happened, so there will be no “credits” today.

Fishies!
Comic Kid is definitely a talented artist. Check out his nice sketches of some of the fish he met on his adventures:

Blog Post Title: Look at the fishes!
Description: Check out these cool fish I recently saw on my adventures. They were so amazing that I had to sketch them in my sketch book in order to show the world!

Unfortunately, we’re not sure which island this will be from! Any ideas?

Want a wall print, Shifty Scorpion?

Note: For these next few posts, the PHB has decided that we will not be giving “credits” because it upsets too many people. If you would like to continue the “credits” system, though, please show us you can handle it by not commenting about a new PCB post after one person has already mentioned it. We are getting a lot of spam recently, all to do with this crediting thing.

Snapshot Sagas: Shifty Scorpion
Welcome to another wild tale from Vlad the Viking as he tells his adventure with Copy Cat and his new buddy Shifty Scorpion! Enjoy:

I was surrounded. A multitude of black and white striped shirts and pale faces were on every side. It was strange though, for they all looked identical! I don’t know how she did it, but she was able to duplicate herself over and over again.

“COPY CAT!” The shout rang out down the street. She turned, as did all of her other clones. They all seemed to jump in unison, like the waves of the sea as they passed Shark Tooth Island. Almost instantly, a chorus of screeches erupted from the crowd that nearly shattered the lens of my poor camera.

“RATS!” she screamed, as the little beasts scurried around her feet. A man was off in the distance, laughing as he watched his army of rodents torment all of the copies of his victim. Thanks to their little skirmish, I was able to get away without too much trouble.

I walked into the newspaper building that was nearby. I had been there before, so it was nice returning to a familiar place. Here I met Shifty Scorpion. He was shifty indeed! Trying to get a photo of him was terribly difficult, but I had to photograph his interesting costume and share it with all of you!

Vlad also adds, “Keep your eyes open! You could be the next Poptropican featured on Snapshot Sagas!”

Poptropica Life Size Wall PrintsPoptropica Life Size Wall Prints
Yay! Poptropica has released some more merchandise – life size wall prints! These are huge stickers that you can stick onย your bedroom wall. There’s a new widget on the right side of the Poptropica Creators’ Blog titled “Poptropica Life Size Wall Prints” and it shows a picture of a boy posing in front of a wall with a big Ned Noodlehead picture on it! Check out the site where you can buy your own here:

Astro-Knights Island, Sneak Peeks

Binary Bard and the Rocket on Ice

Note: Due to the fact that too many people keep talking about a new post on the Creators’ Blog before we even mention it, the PHB had decided, at least for this post, that we will not be giving “credits”ย since people are just using them the wrong way.

Also: The stories mentioned before these two sneak peeks are works of fiction. They were made up just to entertain you readers, so make sure you don’t go roud telling everyone about crashing rockets!

Custom Rockets
Zing! A decorative rocketย zips through space at breakneck speed. Binary Bard desperately punches in 0’s and 1’s, trying to control his machine as it tosses him left and right. Royal blood detected, the screen flashes suddenly. “We must be getting close!” yells the bard triumphantly, just as the rocket swerves itself violently, crashing right into an icy landscape.

Yep, we’re gonna design our very own rockets on Astro-Knights Island! Isn’t that cool? ๐Ÿ˜›

Ice Fishing
“Oof!” Binary Bardย crawls out slowly, not wanting to hurt himself too badly. The rocket was quite badly damaged. “Man, there’d better be an AstroZone nearby. It looks like the nueroplasmic space calibrator is broken. And besides, I wonder where I am.” He groans, but also scans the scenery around him,ย seeing only ice and water. Not knowing what else to do, he gingerly picks up his feet and slowly steps on the ice.

Then it happened. A fish springs out of the water, and with a big “chomp”, it snaps at Binary B., and was gone. “Wow… what just happened there?!” The bard was so surprised he almost lost his footing, nearly falling into the surrounding waters, but catching himself in time. His bright orange-and-purple clothes were now wet, thanks to the fish who had splashed on him. “That was the strangest fish I’ve ever seen!” Binary Bard exclaimed. “Was it just me, or did it look exactly like my uncle’s old helmet?!”

Yikes! Looks like Astro-Knights Island may have a few dangers in store for us.

Binary Bard
As some of you have noticed, Binary Bard is another Poptropica Creator that made his first appearance on March 10, 2009 on the “Custom Rockets” PCB post. He is the mysterious robot jester shown in some previous sneak peeks, includingavatar imageย the Astro-Knights information page on Poptropica.com, where it shows his full costume,ย complete withย a guitar-like instrument in his hand, possibly to entertain the king and queen: he is a jester, after all! Here’s the etymology of the name “Binary Bard”:

Binary: Mathematics. Of or pertaining to a system of numerical notation to the base 2, in which each place of a number, expressed as 0 or 1, corresponds to a power of 2. The decimal number 58 appears as 111010 in binary notation, since 58 = 1 ร— 25 + 1 ร— 24 + 1 ร— 23 + 0 ร— 22 + 1 ร— 21 + 0 ร— 20.
Bard: (formerly) a person who composed and recited epic or heroic poems, often while playing the harp, lyre, or the like.

There you have it – a basic introduction to the Poptropica Creator’s Blog’s latest worker, Binary Bard. What a name! ๐Ÿ™‚

Smiling in the Light

Comic Kid looked up at the torch. He smiled, in deep admiration for the beautiful island he was on. I’m just like a moth, he thought to himself. It was dark all around him, night had fallen. He gave theย glowing light a last glance and turned, heading back home through the silent, shadowyย forest to post yet another lovely sneak peek for the Creators’ Blog he was working at.

Soon after posting, Comic Kid went off to explore again so he would have content to put in his next sneak peek. He’ll be back soon! Meanwhile, a very alert lizard had been watching, and immediately informed everyone about this gorgeous landscape – and that was none other than the great Grey Lizard! Blog picture below:

Blog Post Title: Like a Moth
Description: Have I ever mentioned that I’m drawn to light like a moth? This island had some cool torches that I couldn’t help but admire for awhile.

Hmm. Did he say torches? I hope the rest of them are just as interesting as this one is! And isn’t Comic Kid standing on a rock there? Maybeย we will get to do that someday too. Many say that this is a Reality TV Island sneak peek. I’m not sure, but I sure hope it is! ๐Ÿ˜€

Find out how to get the Golden Touch in this post:
https://poptropica.wordpress.com/2009/03/03/pirates-have-landed/

Both the Creators’ Blog and the Poptropica Help Blog have received a few updates. Let’s start with the Creators’ ones:

The one and only
After a Poptropica Creator finishes their post, it usually ends with, for example, “Posted by Shark Boy at 2:36 PM”. This has now changed to (using the same example): “The one and only Shark Boy at 2:36 PM”. Cool! ๐Ÿ™‚

Love it, Like it, Not interested
You can now vote about your reaction of each and every Poptropica Creators’ Blog post! Under where it says, “The one and only…” (details above), there’s a line where it says, “Reactions:”. Next to it are 3 options, each with a box beside it: Love it, Like it, Not interested. Click on the box beside it to vote that option! Currently, you can vote for as many as you want (you can even vote all 3). If you want to take back your vote, simply click on the box again! There is also a number in parentheses beside each option, which shows how many people had voted for that option. ๐Ÿ˜›

Zazzle Widget
On the side of the Creators’ Blog is their new Zazzle widget! This currently displays some of the T-shirts they are selling, and at the top, written in white with a blue background, are the words, “Poptropica T-shirts and More!” There is also a bright star next to it, and there’s one for the “Blog Archives” section too. It looks a lot nicer that way! ๐Ÿ˜€

Now for the PHB’s updates!
