The Egg Pops…!!

🙂 Poptropica Help Blog now has 800,000+ hits! Thanks to everyone for visiting! 🙂
(Disclaimer: The following story is a work of fiction.)

Boooom.

As more and more dark clouds filled the sky, the sky kept rumbling with loud booms, and Detective Tongue became more and more panicked. She was on a mission to capture a huge, mechanical Firebird that had escaped from its home in the mechanical jungle. Thanks to the bad weather now and the fog earlier that morning, she was now lost in what appeared to be a metal junkyard. Dozens of red-and-blue metal eggs wrapped around some barbed wire could be found all around her. She stuck out her tongue as she usually does when she gets excited, and started jumping on top of the eggs. “Happy Easter…!!!!” she yelled.

But during one of those leaps, she landed on the egg too hard, and the metallic shell popped open. Out came…

Blog Post Title: Easter Adventure
Description: Hunting for Easter eggs is a dangerous activity on this planet!
Image URL: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_AkTCxo8C1Ys/SeNqu8vrADI/AAAAAAAAAFw/Iu4DlQxIJtk/s1600-h/eggs.png

…the very Firebird she was looking for! Its perfectly round, hard head was attached to a spring in the egg. To her horror, when she peered inside the egg she found the bird’s body flattened underneath! Mission accomplished, but what should I do with the bo-, her thought was interrupted. The bird was glaring at the detective fiercely, pecking her hard with its sharp beak. “OW!” yelped Tongue, and fell to the ground in pain.

Astro-Knights Island Tip: Don’t be so quick to judge your success! 😉

Unfortunately for the PHB, we have been getting a lot of spam comments recently. Please make sure you review the rules on the About page, as well as read this short notice:

Special Note: It is not a race to be the first to tell everyone about a new post on the Creators’ Blog. We’ve had many comments saying the same thing (”New post on Creators’ Blog!!!!”) and it is very annoying. If someone has already mentioned it, don’t bother to say it again – it’s not necessary. If people continue to spam and repeat the same thing over an over again, it will show us that you cannot handle this and we will stop giving out credits. Please comment appropriately. Thanks!

In Other News: Grumpy Wolf would like to say that there is a new Pokemon advertisement in between places. In addition to this, Ruthrose88 also added that there were PBS Kids ads on the sides of the gamescreen.

A Light in the Darkness

Thanks, O Peg, for the “new shirt” update.

It’s a light in the darkness for Poptropica’s April weekly T-shirt, ComicKidImage:

As promised, Poptropica will be releasing a new T-shirt at their online Zazzle store every week’s Friday during the month of April 2009. In this one we see Poptropica’s logo in gold, and Comic Kid’s shadow standing into the brilliance of a bright light, yet he is also on the black background of a shirt. The words below his shadow says, “Comic Kid” in gold. The font being used happens to be Anime Ace 2.0 BB, which like the Poptropica speech bubble font (Creative Block BB), is a Blambot font. You can download Anime Ace for free here: http://blambot.com/font_animeace.shtml.

Unicorns Save the Day

🙂 Poptropica Help Blog has reached the 750,000+ hits milestone – that’s 3/4 of a million! 🙂
Thanks to Popfan for creating such a unique name for the unicorn in this sneak peek: Sparkles!

Not long after a meteor crashed through the prison of Super Power Island, another disaster struck in Poptropica. The skies darkened into a grayish color. Onlookers were very much afraid and immediately ran home as soon as they heard the warnings from Hazmat Hermit. “Aaaahh! The sky is falling!” somebody screamed into Hazmat H’s ear. Uh oh, thought the hermit. It’s time for… Super Sparkles Unicorn, come to save the day! In a flash, Hazmat Hermit had climbed onto his unicorn, Sparkles, and the two were now soaring high in the air. “I brought my green laser gun, Sparkles, just in case,” HH reassured the unicorn. Suddenly, they both saw it. A menacing red bird, who happened to look a bit stiff, was chasing them at top speed! “YIKES!” yelled Hermit. “Watch… out… ” He squeezed in his last two words, just as the bird came crashing through them.

Can unicorns rescue us in times of trouble? Maybe they can… on Astro-Knights Island!

Blog Post Title: It’s a bird… It’s a plane… It’s…!
Description: Strange things have appeared in the air above Poptropica. This picture was taken a moment before the mysterious rider vanished into the clouds. A large explosion followed soon after. I advise caution as we continue to monitor the situation.

The bird might be one from this earlier sneak peek – the Firebird! (Called “Rising from the Ashes…” in case you’re interested.) In that sneak peek, it looks like there are many little birds, which act as missiles, under the gigantic wings of the huge firebird. This new sneak peek seems to show one of them!

Or should I say, wear us!

Thanks to Cheerful Claw for the update: yesterday’s T-shirt design poll is over and the winning shirts are now available for purchase at Poptropica’s online store. That’s right, not just one shirt, but two!

Here’s Shark Boy’s explanation.

We have a winner! Since both the 1st and 2nd place designs were close we decided to make T-shirts out of both. So check out our store to get your own Secret Agent shirt. Thanks to all who voted!

Bring it on…
