Virus Hunter member bonuses incoming!

Slanted Fish

You know Virus Hunter is really coming soon when you see the members-only free bonuses start to come into the Store. The first of these is the Virtual Virus Costume, available only during the Early Access period. Because you’ve always wanted to look just like a virus… right?

The costume comes in two parts. When you Costumize the lower half with the body and legs, your own Poptropican’s legs will be replaced by this set of limbs which will have you skittering about like a spider.

[UPDATE 1 – July 9] The Inside-Out Power is here to give you deep insight on the insides (literally) of your Poptropican’s very being (or the very beings of others).

[UPDATE 2 – July 16] The last one is the Sneezing Powder – use it by pressing the space bar and you can give someone a sneezing fit! Aaa… aaahhh-choo!

By the way, remember the PHB’s Ongoing Story Creation? It’s still going (because it’s ongoing), so if you’d like to contribute to or even just read a Poptropica fan-fic created by fellow Poptropicans, you’re welcome to join in!

Play 24 Carrot BETA Carrotene without Membership!

Slanted Fish

Update: The cheat has been fixed.

You heard right! Although now that this is leaked, the Creators may patch this, so try it out while you can! To play 24 Carrot BETA Carrotene Island without membership, just click this link. Credit goes to HPuterpop for the discovery. I’ve recorded a video of the beta, complete with sound:

Only members get to keep the pink jumpsuit, but this still gives non-members a chance to try it out and send some feedback to the Creators! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to play through all of it, as the keyboard wouldn’t show up for me to type on Dr. Hare’s computer, and it lagged and crashed a few times so it took a while to put the video together as well. The cursor made it harder to move as well, so it’s a good thing that’s not going to stay! Also in the video, you’ll notice I went through the smelter room squished – that was, um, amusing.

Anyway, the music was really impressive, and the larger screen was so big my 13-inch laptop screen couldn’t view it all until I actually full-screened! Not having to chase the cat was also a plus. Happy beta testing, everyone!

Black Flags flag, clothing characters, Beta bugs fixed

Slanted Fish

This new Daily Pop sneak peek might be another hint that Poptropolis Games Island is returning! Check out that glorious Black Flags tribe flag. (Of course, not as cool as the Flying Squid tribe!)

Plant your flag – …which is kind of hard to do when there’s no solid ground around.

Also, when you’re buying Poptropica clothing from the Shop, you can now select from some of these popular Poptropica characters (funny how they’re all villains). Sadly, they don’t come with their cool poses (or carrots in Dr. Hare’s case).

If that’s not enough, check out our Friend Finder page for more awesome usernames! You could even get a shirt of a Poptropican Jesus Christ, complete with costume and custom name, by entering the user thejesus1. Just putting that idea out there.

The Creators have been busy making fixes to 24 Carrot BETA Carrotene Island, thanks to all the members who beta-tested and gave feedback. There are more details in their post, and don’t worry, they even said they’d be “implementing the classic movement cursor”! So that probably means no cumbersome common room cursor – sounds like everyone got what they wanted.

Lastly, the PHB has a new slogan on the header! It says “pop inside the PHB – we’re your Poptropica key.” Simple, still includes the obligatory “pop” pun, and tells who we are. Hope you like it.

Crafty Dr. Hare becomes paper craft

Slanted Fish

Are you the type of person who always roots for the villain no matter what? Do you never tire of seeing Dr. Hare’s face? Or do you just love to make things? Well, while we’re still waiting to reach the 10,000 mark on Poptropica’s LEGO CUUSOO project (we’re up to 7,700 now!), you may as well build your very own paper Dr. Hare with this pink-infested template.

Aww, isn’t he cute? (Or creepy, depending on how you look at things.) By the way, you’re probably going to need some scissors and glue for this little DIY project. Look, there’s even a banner on the Poptropica homepage for the crafty villain in paper form!

NEW PHB PAGE ALERT! If you’re in the mood for something else, good news! The PHB now has its own page for any and all Off-Topica (meaning off-topic from Poptropica), which you can find under the Chat tab in the navigation bar above. As long as you follow the guidelines mentioned on the page, you get to talk about anything non-Poptropica! Even ex-Pop players can join in here!

Oh, look at this Daily Pop sneak peek! Did someone say Fishy?

Fishy – Don’t see much joy to these fishies in the deep blue sea.

Fishy

Wha-? Did you just-? I am offended, Daily-Pop-Pencil-Wielding Shark Boy. Offended.

Also, a final word from MT (you may remember him as a former PHB author and the creator of PWH)…

His new show, Happy Endingz – a brand new webseries about three friends London, Raeen and Trev getting into trouble in the streets of LA – is expected to premiere Thursday, July 11th.

And be sure to check out the posts below to catch up on Poptropica’s latest shenanigans!

There’s a video ad on Main Streets for a book by James Patterson called Middle School: How I Survived Bullies, Broccoli, Snake Hill. After watching the video, you’ll get a Middle School: Rafe Rescue Copter for a prize! The helicopter will just fly by on your screen when you activate it, like so:

…maybe not the best way to carry a sick person. At least it didn’t drop him on my head!

Could this new Daily Pop sneak peek be hinting at the return of Poptropolis Games Island? Samwow5 thinks so. It certainly does have that emerge-from-underwater and giant-statue-block feel to it!

Salvage Operation – There are a lot of treasures at the bottom of the sea.

What’s your take? Return of Poptropolis, maybe with some new additions, or just a decapitated head taking a little bubble bath in the sea? I mean, there are a couple spots on there that could use a bit of cleaning…
