The Villain Saga – Episode 3, Part 3

(Table of contents) (See previous)

INT. FLOOR 13, OUTSIDE DR. JUPITERโ€™S LAB

The elevator door opens, and the group enters. This floor is even darker than the rest of the prison, with little to no windows and a sparse amount of dim, yellow lights.

DIRECTOR D.

Cheery.

DR. HARE

Oh wow, itโ€™s almost like this is a prison.

DIRECTOR D. shoots him a glare. DR. JUPITER enters, clasping his hands together in satisfaction as all the prisoners gather in the room.

DR. JUPITER

Well, well, Iโ€™m glad to see you all came in one piece. Because of your notoriety and power, we have decided to place you four into a special program.

BLACK WIDOW

Youโ€™re very good at trying the same old tricks, arenโ€™t you?

DR. JUPITER chuckles, and smiles in a way that feels too casual, considering who heโ€™s surrounded by.

DR. JUPITER

I assure you miss, this will be different.

CRAWFISH

Whyโ€™s she here, anyway? Last time I checked petty thievery wasnโ€™t the top of the worst. A woman like her has no place here.

WIDOW

It was not โ€œpetty thieveryโ€, and me being a woman changesโ€“

MOREAU pushes through the group to BLACK WIDOW.

MOREAU

He does have a point.

(She opens her lace fan, creating a barrier between her and WIDOWโ€™S expressions.)

What makes you so dangerous, truly? How can a simple thief compare to those here? (chuckles) You truly arenโ€™t good at being good or badโ€“

WIDOW snaps. She lashes out, throwing a punch at MOREAU, who narrowly misses it. MOREAU giggles, unfazed.

MOREAU

Ah! You see, she is quite dangerous. Iโ€™d say you should count her as one of them.

WIDOW

You havenโ€™t changed one bit!

The guards lead the four convicts into a side room, which is filled with more people with lab coats, similar to DR. JUPITER. DIRECTOR D. and MOREAU try to follow, but JUPITER stops them.

JUPITER

Iโ€™m afraid you can only come this far.

DIRECTOR D.

What? They said we could come up.

JUPITER
To this floor yes, but weโ€™re going to be doing some tests and studies.

(conโ€™t)

These will all be physical so you wonโ€™t be needed.

JUPITER leaves into the side room, along with the last few scientists, and closes the door. MOREAU and DIRECTOR D. take a moment to process.

MOREAU

Physical? โ€ฆWhy would they need to do health tests?

DIRECTOR D.

Odd.

(he shrugs, chortles)

Anyway, that thing with your cousin was quite harsh, even for you.

CUT TO WIDOW as she sits in the room, trying to create some distance between herself and the other prisoners. She looks both angry and slightly sad.

MOREAU (V.O.)

It was normal growing up.

HARE yelps as a device pinches his arm out of nowhere. A SCIENTIST walks to each of the four, collecting blood samples. She stops at MORDRED when thereโ€™s a hard click upon making contact, and he rolls up his sleeve, revealing metal.

SCIENTIST

Ugh, this is going to make the x-rays really hard for youโ€ฆ

HARE

Why would we need those??

Not giving a response, she grabs MORDREDโ€™S other arm, rolls up the sleeve and sees skin. He doesnโ€™t even seem to notice the little needle punch. Upon approaching WIDOW, she nervously lifts a taser as a warning, then quickly takes the sample. All four vials are placed in a small case, then she leaves.

DR. HARE twists his neck to look through a wall window. Heโ€™s squinting his eyes to see through the dark outside the sterile brightness of the lab, which we could see if he didnโ€™t have goggles.

HARE

What is that?

WIDOW and the other two look. Just after the โ€œpsychologistsโ€ left, a person rolls a giant glass tank on a rolling platfom into the hallway. There are tubes wrapped around and hanging from it, and itโ€™s quite clearly person-sized. It goes into the windowless door and room on the other side of the hallway.

MORDRED

Itโ€ฆit is for usโ€ฆ

(laughs)

Ha! Of course they would copy my own creations! They shall make us all machine fusions!

HARE

Yeah but then why are you here?

MORDRED

They must see themselves as superior. Iโ€™ve yet to challenge them to do such work in a few hours.

HARE

โ€ฆYou did that to yourself in a few hours? Howโ€“

MORDRED

None is remembered, though much was improved over time.

CRAWFISH

This is ridiculous. They canโ€™t do this!

(he turns to WIDOW)

I heard ye can break into things. What about breaking out?

BLACK WIDOW rolls her hands into fists. It has hit all of them that this is more than a prison. The camera pans to the window behind her, where RAVEN is standing, about to go out for exercise.

WIDOW (V.O.)

Trust me. Iโ€™ve tried everything.

FADE OUT.

END OF EPISODE 3.

Bold of you to assume that I’m going to make Moreau a good person just because she’s a main character. Then again this is an all-villain cast!

      1. Not to sound rude(sorry if it does come out that way) but when is the next episode coming out? Not that Iโ€™m trying to rush you or anything, Iโ€™m just curious.
