Why? WHY? You must know why! The nice guys at Poptropica have decided that they aren’t going to leave any player out of the b-day celebrations. If you’re having absolutely no luck at all in finding that sneaky rare 3-balloon, it’s okay.
You can still get something (ooh! a present? for me? *squeal*) – orange balloons with a blue “3” on them are being given away for FREE at the Poptropica Store! It’s free, fun, and keeps you happy! 😀
Update:For reasons unknown, the post mentioned below has been removed from the Creators’ Blog! Kind of weird… and nobody knows why! (Thanks for noticing, Explorer Bronze.)
Do you know what Poptropica may have looked like in its early stages of development? The Poptropica team sure had some different styles of designing back then! Check it out:
Do your parents ever like to embarrass you by showing your baby pictures to your friends? Mine sure did, until I got even. Oh, did I get even…
Um, anyway, it turns out that Poptropica has some embarrassing baby photos of its own. You already know that when you start a new game, you can customize your Poptropican any way you’d like. It looks a little something like this.
Way back when we started planning Poptropica, we knew we wanted to let you customize your character. But, er, this is how we initially sketched it out.
Yikes! Of course, it was never meant to look this way for real. We just wanted to demonstrate how changing your character would work. Still… yeesh. I can’t believe we used to look like that. How embarrassing!
Well since I have only minutes till I have dinner… there is another fruit loops ad in Poptropica. These creators are nuttiest of the nutty. Nutty crunchies-they’ll make you nutty! I kid, I kid. So here’s the basic plot: This Aztec king doesn’t share his loops. Loops? So then you have to beat him at these challenges. Then he’ll “share.”
These creators are borrowing of street smart gags....
But either than that… craze and crave those crazy squares! Doh! Not that…
(I was availible for this day, so I posted. No need to save Friday’s post for me. Thx.)
As you probably have figured out, it’s Poptropica’s birthday this month! The Creators’ post yesterday about their surprise has been revealed!
(Poptropica was founded in September 2007. The exact date was not announced, but since these birthday balloons were released on Sept 15, it may have been officially released on this day – or it could be just that it’s the middle of the month. ~Hijuyo)
Some of our agents may have already figured it out — it’s Poptropica’s third birthday this month!
To celebrate, we’re giving all Poptropica fans a chance to win a special, rare outfit. All you have to do is visit any common room between now and September 30, and look for the special blue balloon with a “3” on it.
Pop the balloon, and you win!
If you don’t see the birthday balloon this time, you can keep trying. Our 3rd birthday page has all the details.
And now, it’s time to party!
On Poptropica’s 3rd birthday page is the following:
“We’re celebrating poptropica’s 3rd birthday, and we want to our loyal fans by giving YOU a present! This message has been approved by Balloon Boy for all audiences.”
Awesome! If anyone has been lucky enough to see the balloon and get the costume, be sure to tell us! Congrats to all the people who managed to get the costume! 😀
Update: Congrats to former PHB author Codien on getting the birthday gear! Here’s the picture below – thanks for sharing! 🙂
"Oh what a magical three years! Happy Birthday Poptropica. With Love, Codien. *I’m wearing my favourite birthday suit."
Three blind mice, three musketeers, three stooges — the number 3 has an almost mystical power. That’s why we’ve got a surprise in store for Poptropica fans that we think will triple your Poptropica pleasure.
But what’s so special about the number 3 and Poptropica? We’ll give you one day, not three, to figure it out. Come back tomorrow for the announcement!

I believe there is three explanations.
1. Notice the balloon. is balloons going to be changed?
2. Schoolhouse rock island! 😐 Weird, I know. But trust me. Go to youtube and type in “Schoolhouse rock:Three is a magic number” You’ll be ok.
3. Let’s face it: Math island.
JK, who knows? I wonder what those three creators are up to? Three ideas in the island shelf is enough, right? Three out of three people could see that.
