ParaNorman and the paranormal

There is a new advertisement game building for ParaNorman, an upcoming 3D stop-motion adventure film about a boy who can speak with the dead and takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from an old curse.

(Thanks to SnowBall for the picture!)

The ad can be found on Main Street of islands such as Wimpy Boardwalk. Click here for a video walkthrough from Loud Shark.

Fuzzy-B provided the following description of what you need to do and a snapshot of the prizes below:

When you walk in talk to Norman. He says that he has a problem, that the dead are rising from their graves! He then says to talk to his friend Neil. After you talk to Neil you start the game. You have to click to dig holes to “return zombies to the ground” so they don’t reach the archive building.

There is a maze of graves that zombies walk through, but the catch is that you can’t dig a hole in the same spot twice, so the zombies make a safe path to walk on (also zombies see holes coming and don’t go that way, so dig the holes as close as you can to the zombies). Once all of the zombies are reburied you win the prizes, Special Zombie Power and Bub Follower. Here is a photo.

Zombies, wanted dead or alive… or just undead.

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks, Sneak Peeks

Here we go again…

vil·lain [viluhn] (noun) 1. a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel. 2. a character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot.

Ah, those Poptropican villains. We love ’em. We hate ’em. We love to hate ’em. We hate to love ’em. On the Creator’s Blog, a teaser had been posted featuring a very familiar bunny.

Uh oh. This can’t be good…

Ah, Dr. Hare, Dr. Hare… you just wouldn’t give up, would you? First, you attempted to kidnap kids to use them to construct the Rabbot, then conquer the world. And players stopped you. Then you made a secret lab to try and do the same thing all over again, this time with grown-up grunts, although we never saw your face. And wait for it… players stopped you. Now, you’re somehow involved with another evil scheme… but what is going on this time? Only time will tell.

Also, I’m also concerned about this Daily Pop as well. I won’t say why for sure, ’cause it sounds far-fetched, but it concerns me.

(Fishy: As PHB reader Aang points out, it looks similar to the museum on Counterfeit Island, and could the Black Widow be back for some vandalism, even on a painting like Water Lilies? The Scream didn’t stop her! Also, Shaggy Tornado‘s theory with Dr. Hare is that he may return in Lunar Colony after being left for dead in space. What do you think? :P)

So I don’t think there’s much more to say. It has been confirmed that Dr. Hare is returning (again). But what else is being hidden?

BT out!

url update

Well, I managed to renew blog.poptropicahelp.net after all, so guess we’re still sticking with that URL for the PHB. Don’t forget you can still use poptropica.wordpress.com anytime to access this blog. 🙂

poptropica friends

Since Poptropica doesn’t have any new updates yet, let’s talk about Poptropica Friends!

Find Friends Now: Did you know that clicking “Find Friends Now” from the Add a Friend feature (the + sign) leads you to an Enchanted Forest Multiverse-type room, that isn’t actually a Multiverse? (There’s no room code.) There, you’ll find some other Poptropicans who have also clicked that button, and you might be able to make some new friends that way.

Random old man Poptropican gif (thanks Loud Shark!)

PHB Friend Finder: However, there’s a better way to find friends, and that’s with the PHB Friend Finder, of course! You can find it listed on the Cool Stuff page. We list interesting accounts you might want to add, and in the comments, you can find other PHB readers and share your username too!

Costume Closet: Also, recently, Poptropicans have been able to customize clothing from their friends’ costume closets, even certain handheld items their friends had in there! Note that you’ll need to be a member to save outfits to your public costume closet which can be accessed from your Friends profile.

Poptropica Help Network: Other great places to find Poptropica friends are the PHC (Poptropica Help Chat), the official PHB chatroom, and Breezy, the official PHB forum.

Also, we’ve reached 6.9 million hits! Thanks for visiting the PHB! 😀

PHB Pop-over Special: Lex Luthor & Superman

(Hope you’re having a great day! Enjoy this guest post by Lazy Runner. -Fishy)

Hey Poptropica fans!

I’m Lazy Runner or MetusNui. I just found out how to dress like the Man of Steel and Lex Luthor on Poptropica. I emailed the PHB and if you’re reading this, they liked what I wrote. So here it is.

Lex Luthor

  • Get the suit from the secretary on Spy Island.
  • Then, get the bald head from Ex-Director D in the cage.
  • For a Kryptonite Gun, pick up the green gun from Laser Tag on Wimpy Boardwalk.
  • If for some reason, you cannot do this, or you can’t be bothered, friend LexLuth and costumise his outfit.

Superman

  • Get the blue pants and the red cape from the second blue costume from Capes and Masks on Super Power Island.
  • The Superman Shirt is more complicated. Either create a new character, or friend ManO’Steel.
  • For the hairpiece, costumes the retired hero on Super Power Island.
  • If for some reason, you cannot do this, or you can’t be bothered, friend ManO’Steel and costumise his outfit.

Thanks for reading!

Staying In The Zone

To be in the Zone of Poptropica, you need to be in touch with all your friends. So remember to add people and stalk check their profiles every day for updates, such as the very interesting fact of whether of not they can do a handstand. Just a heads up, in case you didn’t know, Shark Boy can do a handstand.

Remember, if you want to add the Creators or any other interesting friends, check out the PHB’s Friend Finder. Not only can you find important friends, but you can also see the comments and discover other friends you might want to add. If you want people to add you, then leave a comment saying a little about your Poptropican and your username!

So what do you think about having friends in Poptropica? Was it a good idea or a fail from the Creators? Comment with your opinion!
