Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Island

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory island confirmed!

‘Ello fellows, ready for some jolly good Poptropica news?

Just in time for September 13’s Roald Dahl Day, the Creators announced that they are working on an island based on everyone’s favorite childhood tale, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – as predicted by our good mate Brave Tomato in previous posts here and there. Now that’s sure to have you gobsmacked.

In case you’re too daft to know, Roald Dahl was the chap who wrote classic stories such as James and the Giant PeachMatildaThe BFG, and of course, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Absolutely nuts! 😀

(And yes, Roald Dahl was British. Ace.)

The Big F-I-V-E!

Guess what I ended up finding in the Counterfeit Island common room completely unaware?

It looks like Poptropica’s 5th birthday celebration is on! Wow… five years already? Pretty cool! 🙂

The prize you get from finding the 5th birthday blue balloon is this costume: a little similar to last year’s cake, except a little more extreme with fireworks and all that.

If you want to celebrate this occasion more subtly (or if you’re having a hard time finding the balloon), then there’s a color-changing 5th birthday balloon available for FREE in the Poptropica Store!

Wowzers, 29 islands between then and now. 29. Soon, it’ll be 30,  but as of right now, 29 islands between 5 years is pretty cool.

Happy Birthday, Poptropica! 😀

BT out!

Lunar Colony Island, Super Villain Island

Mysterious as the dark side of the moon

Hey guys! As you probably know by now, Lunar Colony Island has been released for everyone. If you need help, check out the PHB’s written walkthrough, video playlist, map, discussion page, or chatroom.

The Poptropica Tour pages for all islands have been redecorated for the upcoming Super Villain Island, with dark edges and the main villains (Bard, Crawfish, Widow, and Hare) circled with blue lightning.

While you’re there, you may as well visit the tour page for Super Villain and pick up the island extras: the desktop wallpaper and printable poster. Looks like Super Villain’s going to be super epic! 😀

Merchandise

Keep Calm & Ad Lib

More big news has emerged regarding the new Poptropica books that Muddy Axe recently uncovered! For previous posts about the books, click here or here.

The Poptropica Mad Libs book now has a cover! You can also see it on Amazon.

Pencil Warrior‘s cover image is now on Amazon, which features the same villain from this PCB sneak peek last month, only instead of Skullduggery, the cover has a medallion saying “Time Twisted” (Time Tangled’s name before it was released).

The upcoming book Pencil Warrior appears to be a coloring book, but this 2007 article from FableVision seems to describe what we know of the plot as well. Strange that it’s only brought up now.

The new FableVision island merges Poptropica’s exploratory game play with a storyline that promotes creative expression. Under Reynolds’ creative direction, the game’s story features a virtual artist colony where a disgruntled inventor is removing all color and creativity from the island and kids come to the rescue to reverse the colorless chaos.

These books are set to release in November, so look forward to that! 🙂

Poptropica Adventures on the Nintendo DS!

A couple months ago, the PHB posted about Poptropica for the Nintendo DS (see this post). And now, the Creators’ Blog finally lists the “Poptropica Adventures” DS game under Merchandise, which can be found on Amazon for $29.99 (USD)! 😀
