Timmy Failure Island

The search for the pants begins! (Timmy Failure for members!)

The PHB’s Total-ly-not-a-Failure Timmy Failure Island Guide is now up!

Hey guys, BT here to let you all know that Timmy Failure Island is now open for members for Early Access! As for you non-members out there, don’t worry, there’s a demo available – plus, the island releases to the public on October 6th (strangely, a Tuesday) according to Poptropica’s Twitter!

The written walkthrough with pictures is now available, written by yours truly, but if you prefer a video walkthrough from everyone’s favorite pirate snack, Captain Crawfish, here it is!

This island was a lot of fun for me. There was one moment that pretty much… stole the show for me; it made the whole island. I give props – I didn’t know much about Timmy Failure, and I was able to learn a bit from this island about who the characters were before I met them. This is my favorite sponsored island with the drawing style of the original source.

Well, in the meantime, here’s my ranking:

Yay me! XD

Okay you guys, have fun with Timmy Failure! And to those having trouble, don’t worry! We have a written walkthrough right here on the Poptropica Help Blog!

BT out!

Early Poptropica Island

A Happy 8-bit Birthday, Poptropica!

Hey guys!

I’m doing a very special post for everyone today! Well, the most wonderful time of the year is here, and no, it’s not Christmas – it’s Poptropica’s 8th Birthday!

8bitbirthday

This year’s celebration is quite different from our traditional one. Remember the pixel Prized Porker we saw last week? As you can guess, it does have something to do with this year’s celebrations! You may have seen this critter hopping across the login screen, for starters.

For the first time ever, Poptropica is going to add a World Champions live map for a classic Poptropica island: Early Poptropica! Not only that, members and non-members can compete against the crown of being a top finisher for the first ever Poptropica island. And if it’s your first time finishing EP, you’ll get 200 credits instead of the typical 150! Isn’t that the best thing ever?

The race is on starting 1pm EST on Tuesday, Sept 15th! If you need a walkthrough, check out our Early Poptropica Island Guide (or our trivia page for a Quick Guide!).

The yearly balloon hunt is now on as well! This year’s prize is different from past years. Once you pop the 8th birthday balloon in common rooms, you will receive the 8-bit Birthday Pixel Pig Power! (What a long name!) Happy hunting!

Who’s excited? Don’t forget to tweet #HBDPoptropica today and get ready for a PHC party soon! 🙂

Plus, you can grab your free 8th Birthday Balloon in the Store now! Also, you may have noticed that the first NPC on Early Poptropica now holds one of these balloons and says something about the celebrations when you click on him.

UPDATE: WOAH GUYS. WOAH. I (Slippery Raptor) just got first place on the Early Poptropica World Champions Map. Best birthday ever? Other PHB authors and friends ranked pretty impressively as well: HPuterpop (Messy Sinker) was #11, UiPE (Yellow Sword) was #6, and his twin brother Giant Hawk finished at #7! Congratulations to all the finishers!

Check your rank on the World Champions Map and share yours in the comments!

App, Bonus Items, Timmy Failure Island

Some achieve greatness – and some have scarves thrust upon them

Hey Poptropicans!

The last prize of the Timmy Failure Island giveaway has been released, and it’s a code! You can enter the promo code LOSTPANTS to receive 75 credits – which you can then use to buy a new item from the Store! The Creators have added two new items you can buy — the billowing Timmy Failure Scarf (for everyone) and the Greatness Flag (members only*).

*Non-members can still get the Greatness Flag for free by scrolling to the end of the Store’s gold card items even though it’s intended for members only. Hurry before this gets patched!

Starting next Thursday, the 17th, members will get to play Timmy Failure Island. Be excited! 😀 Plus, check out our BTS Overview & Theory post for Timmy Failure for a behind-the-scenes look at what to expect, only on the PHB. 😉

Over on the Poptropica mobile app, you can now pick up a free color-changing 8th Birthday Balloon! (Thanks to FairyTale for the tip.) It will be released soon for the online version too, but not until at least September 15th according to a tweet from Poptropica. (Unless you have the Balloons item from the Store – then it’s part of the package! Thanks to Shaggy Tornado for that tip.)

(UPDATE) To pump up the excitement for 8th birthday celebrations, Poptropica also shared this gif of a jumping pixel pig on their blog (you may recognize this creature, but without the party hat and “8” marking, from Early Poptropica Island)!

On a fun note, Poptropica made a little something for fans of the band 5 Seconds of Summer (well, just Luke Hemmings) over on Twitter… the things they do for the fans! 😉

Wiki

Don’t H8 M8, R8 8/8 for Poptropica’s 8th birthd8

Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultim8 iPad Expert here with some news on Poptropica’s 8th birthday! The Creators took to their blog to explain a little about what’s happening for this year’s celebration. For those who don’t know, Poptropica’s birthday is in September – the whole month counts, because no one seems to know the specific date. 😛

Anyway, it seems we’ll be getting more giveaways, which could mean some really epic prizes. They also mentioned games, which I’m not sure about really. Does this mean some sort of birthday mini-game or something? Who knows? Looks like the fun starts next week on September 15th:

I’m excited to see what Poptropica does for this year’s birthday suit, if there’s to be one, and so are fellow PHB authors Slip and HP. Check out this fan idea from Slip, plus HP’s remade version:

So that’s all for the 8th birthday so far, but I wanted to give a little update from the Poptropica (Help) Wiki. If you’ve visited there recently, you may have noticed our new logo:

NewPoptropicaWikiLogoGamepedia

That’s not all – we’ve also been working on a spiffy redesign for the entire website! Just a reminder that we recently relocated from Wikia to host the wiki on Gamepedia – head over there to check out the new layout and help with editing pages!

PoptropicaWikiWebsiteDesign

The design is still under development, but figured I’d show it off to you guys since I think it’s pretty awesome. Big thanks to anddrewwiles (aka HPuterpop) and Ylimegirl for helping to make the new design a reality.

So, are you excited about Poptropica’s 8th birthday? What do you think of the new Poptropica Wiki design? Comment below.
