Want your own meme face?

Well, it’s simple. Comment on the most recent PMFM post (just choose the one of the list here). Be sure to follow the criteria below:

  • Very crucial: Wear the outfit you want to have in the meme face on Poptropica and keep it on for at least a week.
  • As mentioned, find the most recent PMFM post (it will be at the top of this list)
  • Include your Poptropican username in a comment.
  • Include the meme face you would like on your Poptropican in your comment (a link to an image of the meme is very preferred).
  • Post your comment and wait! (PMFM is operated on a first come-first serve basis, so your meme face will come after all of the ones before are released).
  • Just a note: You do not need to re-comment on newer posts if you haven’t gotten yours yet. Once I reply to your comment mentioning “You being added to the list,” then I have seen your comment and added it to my literal list, so yours will be made after each one before is made.

This completes round fifteen of meme faces. Tune in next Monday for the next Poptropican Meme Face Mondays!

Announcing the 2nd Poptropica graphic novel!

This post has been updated with new information.

Hey guys, Brave Tomato here with a bit of interesting news – graphic novel fans, hear me out!

So I decided to go on Barnes and Noble to pre-order the Mystery of the Map graphic novel (which is available March 1st). You know, standard “Add to Cart” and all that stuff. However, I decided to go ahead and look up “Poptropica” in the search bar of Barnes and Noble. As I scrolled down, I was met with a very interesting sight…

The release date, cover, and title of the next Poptropica graphic novel!

The Lost Expedition

The Lost Expedition.

Mya, Oliver, and Jorge are back, and have now arrived in a more arctic setting, as contrasted to their previous viking adventure. It’s written by Mitch Krpata (aka Hades), and Kory Merritt is back for illustration, of course.  According to the Barnes and Noble page, the release date is not until August 16, 2016. Plus, you can pre-order it now, along with the first book.

Unfortunately, other than these facts, there is no other information on this book.

Update: Plot twist! I actually just discovered a description for the plot of this book on the Amazon page for it! Here’s what the description reads:

In book two, The Lost Expedition, Oliver, Mya, and Jorge continue their search for home, with a few hilarious stops along the way. As the friends set sail for new sights, they find the evil Octavian is still hot on their trail, and he’s determined to get his hands on their magical map. To make matters worse, a mysterious organization is keen on expelling the three friends from Poptropica. As the pals travel, they find that each island is filled with its own unique brand of peril, and the mystery surrounding the map and Poptropica itself begins to unfold. Will our trio be able to once again outfox Octavian and discover the identity of this secret society?

A secret society. Expulsion from Poptropica. Peril. Mysteries unfolding. Identities. And a few obvious answers. Part of me wonders… this Society… would it be one that Octavian was once part of but then went rogue? And could Embed (the “Viking” Octavian tied up, and told the trio that they should be wary about Octavian) be a part of that society? Well, there’s only one way of officially finding out: play the waiting game.

BT out!

Introducing… PHC 2.0!

What’s chatting, chatropicans? This post is brought to you by a handful of us from the PHC!

Recently we posted about possibly moving our PHB hangout, the Poptropica Help Chat (PHC), to a different chat host: Discord. Though we’ve been using Xat for years, we found the much newer Discord to offer more to the chat experience overall. However, we left it up to you guys to vote – and over the past week, there emerged a clear winner… and by POP-ular demand… we’re moving to Discord!

phc2

In addition to a much cleaner look, the new PHC has tons of cool features, such as being able to private message anyone (even offline) and it’s not as laggy as the Xat chat system. It’s also a great place to share artwork, theories, and to get to know fellow Poptropicans in the community.

When you first arrive, you’ll land on #tutorial, which will explain the rules and other basics that are good to know (channel guides, rules, how to use emojis, and more!). You can go back to the tutorial guide anytime, but you can also check out the many other different channels we have to talk about whatever interests you!

The new PHC’s different channels, such as #main and #art, helps everyone stay on topic, find other people with the same interests, and have multiple, yet organized conversations at the same time. There’s even a #lulz channel where you can spam and post memes to your heart’s content, as long as it maintains our guidelines of course! And unlike Xat, even newcomers can post links, pictures, and gifs, with more ease than ever before.

But what about Xat, you may ask? Well, it’s still there, but we’re now directing people over to Discord instead. The official PHC is now on Discord, meaning we’ll host parties on Discord now and the PHB will no longer link to Xat. That being said, you can still go on Xat if you so desire, but Xat will no longer be moderated. We’ve updated the Xat page with information about the new PHC (on Discord), for new users who may stumble upon it or users who haven’t been on in a while.

Everyone’s been having so much fun here on Discord – and you can too! While you don’t need a Discord account to go on, it’s a good idea to make an account so you can change your profile picture and more. Plus, you can even download the Discord app on various desktop or mobile devices to take the fun with you! Pop in today, Poptropicans!

We hope you enjoy PHC 2.0, and we’ll look forward to seeing you there in the future! 😀

My Place in Poptropica

My Place in Poptropica: Grumpy Wolf

This is the My Place in Poptropica story of Grumpy Wolf, a longtime Poptropican with an affinity for glitching. See the bottom of this post for details on sending in your own MPIP!

MyPlaceInPoptropica-GrumpyWolf

Who am I? Well, let’s take it back to when I was a young boy…

Fall of 2008 | Discovery

Back when I was much younger, there were many kids in my after-school program who had a great liking for the game Poptropica. I had an interest in technology and computers even then, and I decided I’d like to give the game a go. Every time I played the game, I would make a new character.

The first few times I played, I just went in to common rooms, walking around, maybe chatting a bit and playing a few games. However, I eventually decided maybe it was time to step it up a notch and try an island. The first island I ever played was 24 Carrot. I never made it very far into the island, but I still enjoyed it a bunch. Eventually, I branched out to new islands, but again, never really progressed far.

2009 | The PHB

Well, eventually, after I was tired of doing nothing productive with Poptropica, I searched up a tutorial on how to beat 24 Carrot. Guess what site I landed on? Yep, ’twas ye old PHB. Funny thing is, I’ve always preferred reading island tutorials over watching them. I know, call me crazy. But after I had beaten 24 Carrot, I was ecstatic, because it had been unfinished for such a long time, and now I had completed it.

I didn’t comment on the blog at the time, but I enjoyed reading up on the island tutorials that were available on the website, even without a WordPress account. For a while, I got bored of Poptropica, so I strayed from it for about a year.

2011 | Membership & My 1st Account

Well, one day, minding my own business, Dr. Memory knocked on the door of my head and sparked the idea center of my brain into remembering Poptropica again. I hadn’t played it in a while, as stated before, so I thought I’d give it a go once more. This time, however, since I was older, I understood the concept of writing down a username and password. So I created my first Poptropica account and decided to get membership for it.

Although this was not my current Grumpy Wolf account, it was the account that I got membership for and that I liked for a long time. Considering there were many new islands released, I headed back over to the PHB, (surprised at the major changes to the site) and looked up more island tutorials. I played for a long while. Sadly, yet again, I left Poptropica one more time.

2013 | The Return & Poptropica Glitches

At this time, I was on vacation for the summer, and Dr. Memory, again, sparked that same old idea again. Since I had brought a laptop with me, I hopped on Poptropica again. But this time, I discovered Keith Sammut’s Weebly site and became completely fascinated with the concept of Poptropica glitches. I remember emailing him in the beginning asking for ASG usernames.

Keith asked me to join him on this chat website called Xat (which is also home of the PHC), which is why I am still on there talking to a few different friends even now in 2016. Anyway, Keith let me in on one or two ASG usernames to start me off, and so began my trail of trading to obtain other glitches and grow my closet to an interesting, fun assortment of brightly colored costumes that were not intended for people to have.

The following year (2014) continued on that path. The only things that happened were me continually expanding my glitched closet and making new friends. I also found out about a bunch of other games that I like to play today.

2015 | The Friend CEG and “The Method”

First, to clarify, CEG means Customize Everything Glitch. Second, to clarify, I will not be talking about how to perform these actions in-game as they are very private secrets. 😛

In mid-2015, I learned from my old friend Keith Sammut (who’s stuck with me for 3 years and counting) about how to do a glitch called the FCEG, or “Friend Customize Everything Glitch.” The glitch allowed you to customize anything off of anyone, as long as they are in your friends list. Alas, the glitch is patched now.

Towards the end of 2015, I was recruited as one of a few people to help out with the PHB’s Avatar Studio Gift while it was in progress. The PHB had been given a secret method by a retired player called Dr. Snowball that allowed one to get any clothing item in the game, and could even given custom names, which is what was used to start the Name Genie. Using this method, I along with a few others worked to make more ASGs available to everyone.

2016 | And Beyond?

Since I discovered the secret method only weeks before the start of 2016, and since this year is very young, there isn’t really much to talk about. However, what lies beyond is a great mystery. I can’t wait to see what the PHB has in store for the future, and also what Poptropica has for us in the coming years.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this very much (I put a lot of effort in this! 😛 ), and I encourage you to post Your Place in Poptropica too!

Peace,

Wolf

Hope you enjoyed this “My Place in Poptropica” story! Feel free to send in your own (please include a minimum of 550 words, type with good spelling and grammar, divide it into labeled sections, and include your username). Look out for more community MPIPs in the future!
