Home Island, Sneak Peeks

PHB Sneak Peeks: Skydock and Christmas Stock

Hey folks, Cobalt here!

So, remember the sneak peeks we saw of Skydock Island? Some say it is just an extension of the Home Island, some say its just a brand new version of Home Island. Point is, there is a lot of discussion and mystery surrounding it. Hopefully today I can give you a more solid answer, despite me sometimes being liquid. 😀 Anyway, on with the post…

Thanks for these insights go to Entrippy and another anonymous ‘glitcher’ from the PHC!

We’ve seen these sneak peeks before, some on the Daily Pop, and some on the PHB’s original Skydock post. But it doesn’t hurt to look at them again with new perspective! Let’s take a look:

In its full glory, this three-places-in-one is shaped as a pirate ship. It appears to be a small hub for all of the current buildings on Home Island. The weirdest thing about all of these are the Christmas decorations. Are they planning really, really ahead, or has development on this slowed down?

This is definitely Christmas themed, which I find really odd. Hate to be a Popspiracy theorist, but I definitely think they stopped working on this. These pictures are live as of 3/28/16. Though, there is more to it than Christmas stuff, which gives me hope this’ll happen with different seasons, too.

These are just a few of the descriptions up close – you can see the full pictures on the PHB’s original Skydock post. Hopefully you can get the main idea, though. Also, the picture at the top left has an elevator, and it’s a second platform. Pretty nifty stuff! 🙂

We’ve seen snow on Home Island before, but there’s another feature that’s only shown up behind-the-scenes: the ability to throw snowballs! Kind of like Club Penguin. Now that’s cool!

Anyway folks, that about wraps this post up. Hopefully we’ll see this update soon? Reporting off,

your favorite author

Feel free to click on the images to view them in their full glory. 😛

PS: Spencer (aka Cobalt Spinner)’s birthday is this Wednesday, March 30! So, wish him a happy birthday! 😀

Want your own meme face?

Well, it’s simple. Comment on the most recent PMFM post (just choose the one of the list here). Be sure to follow the criteria below:

  • Very crucial: Wear the outfit you want to have in the meme face on Poptropica and keep it on for at least a week.
  • As mentioned, find the most recent PMFM post (it will be at the top of this list)
  • Include your Poptropican username in a comment.
  • Include the meme face you would like on your Poptropican in your comment (a link to an image of the meme is very preferred).
  • Post your comment and wait! (PMFM is operated on a first come-first serve basis, so your meme face will come after all of the ones before are released).
  • Just a note: You do not need to re-comment on newer posts if you haven’t gotten yours yet. Once I reply to your comment mentioning “You being added to the list,” then I have seen your comment and added it to my literal list, so yours will be made after each one before is made.

This completes round nineteen of meme faces. Tune in next Monday for the next Poptropican Meme Face Mondays!

More Monkeys, Bad Bunnies, Boardwalk Boy, & Loot Loaded

Hey guys! Spotted Dragon here with a few quick updates.

First off, Monkey Wrench Island is now available for iOS!

If you get stuck, be sure to check out our Monkey Wrench Island Guide.

Second up, Poptropica tweeted a gif of a character from Wimpy Boardwalk Island!

Obviously he’s from Wimpy Boardwalk, but do you know exactly who the character is? 😉

Third, they’ve also shared some early conceptual work from Shrink Ray Island. Apparently, air vents were going to be populated by evil dust bunnies!

Okay, this may just be me, but that actually looks really fun and cute. 😛

Lastly, after our discussion post about the Daily Pop not being “daily” anymore, one more sneak peek has graced our presence! This character is loaded with loot, and we’re not sure yet what this could be. What do you think?

Backpacker: Time to hit the dusty trail.

That’s all for now! Keep checking back for more updates! 😉

Legendary Swords

Popspiracy: Resident E. Vile 2

Hey folks, Cobalt here! Oh, and happy Easter! 😉

popspiracy.png

So, now that I’m an actual author, I suppose it’s time the series I started on the PHB not too long ago resurfaces. In short, these “Popspiracies” are what we think is cooking up behind the scenes at Poptropica HQ. You know, the things Skinny Moon would love to tell us but can’t? 😛

Here is my little theory.

48821704-a462-4917-9d0c-fdfbf09c9f82

Yes, I cannot let go of Legendary Swords. I never will.

This had me thinking. Why would Poptropica buy (or make themselves, we don’t know!) wall decor for an apparent Legendary Swords robot we never saw in-game? :/

eeeviilll

We definitely didn’t see this fella in the first Legendary Swords. Why would they make this character, its design, and have them as literal wall decor in their headquarters if development on it was abandoned?

Here’s where my final points come in. Let’s look at the first Daily Pop sneak peek we had this month.

screen2bshot2b2016-03-162bat2b5-21-382bpm1

For one, that definitely feels like outer space in the background, considering the apparent portal or wormhole or whatever time universe space jazz that is.

Second, is that not a purple cave? Oh, where else did we see purple caves in space, huh?

screens1

Also, the menacing darkened entity in the background. It has glowing red eyes. Now, E.Vile does not have glowing red eyes. But – the robots do!

While it is obvious enough – we then look at the caption. “I’m only happy when it reigns.” That is a play on words, and from what we know from Reign of Omegon (the title of the third episode of PoptropiCon), this can only mean one thing. Whatever that creature is, it wants control. Probably of Poptropica and the universe, and we all know that was E. Vile’s goal, right before we kinda never saw him again

What do you Poptropicanos think? Do legends ever die? Talk about it! I want to hear what you think ! 😀

Well, I guess that about wraps this conspiracy up. Legendary Swords may still be in development! I’ll pop back in soon. Later folks, and have a great Easter!

My Place in Poptropica

My Place in Poptropica: Fearless Rider

This is the My Place in Poptropica story of Fearless Rider, who first found Poptropica through her sister, and now makes her mark as her own Poptropican. See below for details on sending in your own MPIP!

MPIP-FearlessRider

Hi!!! I’m Marshmallowlilypads, AKA Fearless Rider. (You’ll hear the explanation for the name later!) How are you, PHB readers? Are you ready for My Place In Poptropica? Are you sure? Super sure? Absolutely sure? Positively sure? Totally sure? Okay, I’d better start before you guys leave.

Forbidden Love

My discovery of Poptropica goes way back, second grade to be exact. My one older sister was always the popular one. And… I was the weird one. I always felt like I was in her shadow, always known as “her little sister”. I doubted people even knew my name. My sister was also a trendsetter, and, to be honest, a pretty good one at that. Silly bands, bagged chips, fake nerd glasses – say anything, and my sister could make it a trend. So, when she played Poptropica in the computer lab one day, boom, it spread like wildfire.

My sister would play Poptropica on her computer, and, if she allowed me to, I’d pull a chair up right behind her and watch. Poptropica was awesome back then (and still is!). I’d breathe right over her shoulder, totally mesmerized by the game.

My sister got older, and I’d annoy her more and more, until she eventually banished me from the room when she played. But, when she walked out of the room, I inched myself into the living room and made my first Poptropica account. I forgot the password and username, but I still remember the in-game name: Cuddly Eye. I had to make it up the first chance I got, since my sister was coming back into the room. But, the first time I hopped into that yellow balloon, I fell in love.

It was a forbidden love, if you think about it.

Tab In, Tab Out

Way back then, I had a really bad memory. A terrible memory. I made over 20 accounts because I kept forgetting the usernames and/or passwords. A few months after I made my first account, I took a break. Of course, I forgot my password. So I made a new one. This happened several times, and that’s why I have so many aliases.

I’m not the most talented Poptropica gamer, so I looked up walkthroughs often. And walkthroughs led to… ta da! The PHB! Okay, okay. I’m not going to say that when I started looking at the PHB, I was totally into it and submitted stories and ideas and now I’m a PHB legend! No. That has not happened. At all. When I first started checking out the PHB, I didn’t even look at the comments section.

It was all about the walkthroughs. I would get on an island, look at the tab on my computer that said something like, Ghost Story Island Guide, and do what it said. I don’t know if other people do this, but it’s most efficient for my taste. Yes, it consisted of a lot of tab-switching: tab in, tab out, tab in, tab out. But I ended up finishing ALL of the islands (you know, when all of the islands were open to everyone. I didn’t have a membership back then).

And then, guess what? I forgot my username.

More Recently…

I stopped playing Poptropica for a pretty long time after that. A year, I think. I moved houses, switched schools, and homework got more intense homework… so I didn’t have a lot of time for playing. But soon, I was allowed to do homework in study hall, and Poptropica popped up again (see what I did there?). And when life gives you Poptropica, you find the PHB! Again!

I was older then, and I had my own computer, so I could pretty much go on Poptropica and the PHB all I wanted. I explored more of the PHB, told my friends about it and gave them the link, and played Poptropica more! I finished exactly 30 islands, and I’m still working on Arabian Nights Island.

But when I discovered The POPCORN magazine, it… called to me. Before you call me a freak, I submitted a story to The POPCORN and… it showed up in there! Boom! The Warden’s Daughter by Fearless Rider! I made my signature look, which you can see in the graphic above (my user is Marshmallowlilypads). I posted my first ever PHB comment on White Gamer’s MPIP, and I’m still trying to make my mark on the PHB. Wish me luck!
