Pop Fan Artist Spotlights

Pop Fan Artist Spotlight: AllysArt

How’s it going, Poptropicans? It’s Lucky Joker here back with anotherย Pop Fan Artist Spotlightโ€”it’s been a little while since the last one. Today, I’ll be showcasing the work of AllysArt!

Ally’s art style is comparable to that of Poptropica’s, but still special in her very own way. Almost all of her pieces are bright, colorful, and happy. Check out this gallery of her work below (click to enlarge the images):

If you want to see more of Ally’s art, check out her media gallery on her Twitter, @SimplyArtByAllyโ€”she posts on a pretty regular basis.

I hope you liked this look into a Poptropica fanโ€™s artwork! Got any Poptropica fan art of your own? Share it on our DeviantArt group gallery atย We-Love-Poptropica.ย Also, donโ€™t forget to check out the other artists Iโ€™ve featured here,ย and to participate in this month’s Community Creations! Thank you all for reading and I’ll talk to you soon…pop on!

Frosted Smallfoot, LEGO mammoth (three ads)

Hey Poptropicans! Brace yourselves for a chill, because right now Poptropica is hosting three pretty frosty ads! (Unless you’re also counting that ever-obtrusive ad for Poptropica on Poptropica, which really needs to just go. Anyway…)

You can find all of these ads with their own icons on the map. (There are also a couple other ads we covered earlier: Next Gen and Froot Loops.) Let’s take a look!

Smallfoot is an animated movie in theaters September 28, and for the ad, you can win a Snow Ball handheld item (with space bar to throw) by first watching the video, then playing a game. To beat the game, simply move your cursor to help Smallfoot avoid crashing into anything as he makes a long descent!

Frosted Flakes is a cereal by Kellogg’s, and its ad takes you to an area where, once inside, you’ll be wearing a bike helmet (not a separate item, though). The gist of the game is to click-and-hold to jump over various obstacles strewn along a suburban street as you cycle through as Tony the Tiger.

At the end, you’ll be awarded a Tony Follower and Cereal Toss (power and handheld). If the cereal box hits a Poptropican when thrown, it’ll bounce off of them.

LEGO City is a line of LEGO products that includes a helicopter mammoth missionโ€”the focus of this ad, earlier rumored to be made into its own island. To play the game, head inside the building and hop into the chopper. The rules are simple: avoid the obstacles, but pick up the green batteries for an energy boost.

Once you reach the legendary mammoth, you’ll win two prizes: an Explorer Suit (which can send down snow with the press of the space bar) and Helicopter Follower.

These aren’t the only games around on Poptropica! As mentioned in the post below, Dr. Hare’s Secret Lab is also back for a limited time, from now until Monday, September 17. You can find it on the map, or access it through its item card if you grabbed it before it left the store several months ago with the store update. There’s a new Rabbot costume to be hadโ€”though it’s not an item card, just something you can Costumize. ๐Ÿค–

24 Carrot Island, Sneak Peeks

Beware up there, maybe a hare…

UPDATE:ย The special event (the mini-quest as described below) can now be accessed via the map. On Instagram, the Creators announced that the event runs only until Monday, September 17. Win that new limited edition robot suit while you can!

Hey Poptropicans! Carrot all to see what’s new? ๐Ÿฅ•

The Poptropica Creators posted a sneak peek on the official blog that’s meant to be for a “special event launching this Thursday.” This might look familiar to some of you…

sneekpeek

In case the crate of carrots in the pic and the 38 carrot emojis on the Creators’ Blog weren’t enough of a hint, this smells a lot like it’s got something to do with 24 Carrot Island villain Dr. Hare. Specifically, this is almost an exact scene from the entrance of the old mini-quest Dr. Hare’s Secret Lab (but the signpost is new).

Since the store is now getting refreshed with new stock every month, the card for Dr. Hare’s Secret Lab hasn’t been there for some time. However, if you’ve got the card in your inventory, you can still play itโ€”in fact, this update is live, but the only changes are aesthetic: the addition of a new sign, music, and a recolored robot costume reward.

For those who don’t have access because you may not own the card, wait until Thursday for the official release of this “special event.”

Dr. Hare’s Secret Lab came out in 2010 and has been available in the store until about four months ago. Guess it’s nice to see it return, at least. ๐Ÿฅ•

Contests

Halloween arrives early for Creators’ costume design contest ๐ŸŽƒ

Hey Poptropicans! Trick or treat?

The Poptropica Creators have been releasing updates in full swing this week, and there’s one more just announced: a Halloween costume design contest! (They did recently promise more contests.) Check out the details on this Instagram post:

It’s pretty early for Halloween (the holiday falls on October 31)โ€”and yet, the contest closes Friday, September 21 (in two weeks). The winning design will be made into a costume free for everyone in October.

The Creators wrote in a comment that you can enter this contest “any way you like. You can draw new costumes or mix and match from whatโ€™s already in Poptropica!”

To enter, simply post your design(s) on Instagram with the tag #PoptropicaHalloween. They’ll probably take entries from other social media tooโ€”just be sure to post where they can see it (such as tagging @Poptropica on Twitter).ย You can also enter multiple times.

Happy creating! ๐ŸŽƒย Be sure to also check out our other posts from this past week belowโ€”there’s been lots going on! Keep on popping on.

Realms

Realms returnsโ€”at long last!

Hey Poptropicans! Remember Realms, that magical sandbox universe where you could create any landscape of your imagination with a range of tools, textures, and things?

And remember how it just stopped working over a year ago, and has been down ever since?ย Well, good news: as promised,ย it’s finally back, by popular demand!

You can access it via a fancy new portal on Home Island, above the movie theater. So head on over there, say hello to those furry creatures running rampant, and get creating!
