Hey guys, BT here. Now, I’m just shocked at this video. Shocked in a happy way. VERY SHOCKED.

Wow, I did NOT see that coming. Whew. Full sound and music in Poptropica after 5 and a half years… and with a full screen at that!

This is just stunning. So far, 24 Carrot Island’s redux seems epic (I’m loving the music and the effects of the crows and the crowbar and everything.)

I think this was the reason why we haven’t heard much of Virus Hunter Island in a while. I’m super pumped about this. This is a really big piece of news here, peeps.

The addition of music and more sound effects in Poptropica sounds great to me as well! It’s definitely been a long time coming. Anyway, here’s a bit more ear-related news for you: when Dr. Hare’s Lair reaches 7,500 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO, we’ll be getting this Dr. Hare Ears Power!

Now we’ll definitely be well-equipped for when this big sound update comes out! Notice the new menu icon in the video as well! Plus, as Silver Wolf pointed out in the comments, the trusty blue/green arrow has been replaced with the common room cursor! The general consensus in the comments for that is… that’s a bad move. That cursor’s pretty annoying, and jumping around with it just isn’t the same.

Well, I’m looking forward to hearing more about what’s up in Poptropica. (Pun intended, of course!)

Back Lot Island action begins for members!

“Action!” That’s the cue for all members to log into Poptropica and play the all-new movie adventure, Back Lot Island! No lights and cameras for the login screen – just pure, stampeding action.

But, non-members, don’t worry. Your time to shine will come. April 25 at 2pm EST, to be exact.

Anyway, our Back Lot Island Guide is up, so if you need help, there you have it! Hopefully the walkthrough (which has pictures) will be of value to you. And to celebrate the new island, we’ve got a Back Lot header up as well. Woot!

In other news, the PHB’s Poptropica Web Directory recently got a revamp. That’s the place where people can post ads for their Poptropica sites, so give them a visit! It’s listed under our Cool Stuff page, which is also home to the recent revamp of our Costumes page if you haven’t gotten a chance to see that yet. Double woot!

And that new author is me. Yes, me, Angry Wing.

Now for a little about myself.

I’m really excited to be a part of this awesome Poptropica blog. I’m twelve years old and I’ve been playing the game since Shark Tooth Island was released. Right now I’m running a blog of my own: Just Cuz It’s Friday. I post every Friday and my friends post throughout the week. You can find it at justcuzitsfriday.com.

Outside of the computer, I enjoy drawing, reading, hanging out with my friends. I play football, basketball, and I do track. And of course, I love blogging. I am a follower of God, a Christian. Happy Easter, by the way! My music interests include TobyMac and OneRepublic.

Balloons just out of reach & a revamped Costumes page!

Remember when Dr. Hare promised everyone a Bunny Balloon for when Poptropica’s “Dr. Hare’s Lair” LEGO CUUSOO project reached 5,000 supporters? Well, he isn’t just offering the super-enticing Dr. Hare Deluxe Balloon…

We’re also going to get an Insignia Deluxe Balloon! These would make Balloon Boy jealous!

But hold your horses… these balloons aren’t available just yet. (Audience: “Awwww….”) Currently, the LEGO project is only at 3,900+ supporters, so keep encouraging people to vouch for it! 5,000 is not only the halfway mark for the needed 10,000 – it also means two free balloons.

When asked what Dr. Hare himself had to say, he looked the camera in the eye and said with a sincere face, “Don’t do it for me, or for the thousands of other Poptropicans who would love a couple of free balloons. Do it for yourself. You deserve something nice.”

You do deserve something nice! These balloons may not be available yet, but check out the PHB’s newly-revamped Costumes page (still listed under Cool Stuff), now with over 70 costumes (with pictures), plus commentary on how to get most of them, and even a tips section. We’ve got lots of outfit advice from fellow Poptropica fashion enthusiasts, so come and take a look!

Album Photos

As you play through one of Poptropica’s many island adventures, the game will snap a photo of your character at certain checkpoints and you can go back and view your photos via the Photo Album on your Poptropica Friends profile. You can also browse through your friends’ photo collections and customize from what your (or your friend’s) character is wearing with the shirt button at the top.

Most islands have 4 photos, though Early Poptropica and Super Power have 5, and Skullduggery has just 3. Only members are able to view all the photos they’ve collected, but non-members, hold on for the good news! Now on each of the PHB’s island info/trivia pages, you can take a look at every photo, witty captions included.

The Poptropica Creators’ Blog recently posted that there are currently 133 photos to amass, showing off the photo album of PHB reader Elphangor (Lone Heart), who has done just that. (That was also the post that tried to cover up the naming of Back Lot Island, but fortunately, the PHB post below will catch you up on that big scoop!)

Congrats and thanks to Elphangor (username omitted) for his achievement, which has made it possible for the PHB to take pictures of all these pictures, now available on this blog for your perusal.
