Greetings, everyone. Right now I’m posting about something major announced on the PCB. Let’s get right to it shall we?

Remember Poptropica The Official Guide? It is said to be released on October 13th. There’s guides in it, info, even a fold out poster. The guide is coming really soon, but to celebrate the creators have planned something very special 😉

A scavenger hunt will be run on Poptropica based on this book :D. This is a rare activity that I must say I’ve never seen anything like it on Poptropica. Three clues will be revealed each week on the PCB. You must have a copy of this guide with you to take part in the scavenger hunt according to the official webpage http://www.poptropica.com/books/official-guide-poptropica.html. Once you have found the answers to all three clues, you win prizes for that week! According to the website there are three scavenger hunts:

Scavenger Hunt 2: 10/27/11-11/9/11

Scavenger Hunt 3: 11/10/11-11/23/11

The scavenger hunts goes all through September and mostly through October. On the bottom of the webpage there’s a special video from Jeff Kinney titled “Jeff Kinney talks about Poptropica.” In the video the creator of the virtual game. The video is 2 minutes in length and basically explains the virtual world of Poptropica on “how to get started” and how “it’s an interactive and entertaining game.” Be sure to check it out if you have time.

New this week in the Poptropica Store

The birthday party continues with the return of two Members-only items to the Poptropica Store:

From now until the end of September, Poptropica Members can get the Paper Boy and Girl costumes, as well as the Skullduggery Pirate, from the Poptropica Store. Act fast — they’ll be gone when September is. Not a Member yet? Find out how to become a Poptropica Member today!

Luckily, these amazing outfits are back for you lucky Poptropica Members. But only for September– you’ll have to act quick about it! The Skullduggery one is especially fitting because today, September 19th, 2011, is International Talk Like A Pirate Day! ARR!

Now you can look super cool while looking like a human patch of paper and wearing eyepatches– all while finishing Mystery Train Island!

So maybe it’s not an ideal combination. But you’ll still look pretty stylish! 😉 Maybe if you have a weird sense of humor like me

Poptropica Store Surprises! + Heat Maps and Coutdowns!

I had some free time this week, so I thought I would post about the new things that the Creators added in the Poptropica store!  Many things have been added 😀 I’m sure most of you know about the birthday balloon:

Anyone who visits the store can get the Fourth Birthday Balloon for free! Isn’t free awesome? 🙂 Also in celebration of Poptropica’s 4th birthday this September, they added in the last two minigames to hit Poptropica: Shrink Shot (Shrink Ray) and Prepare for Impact (Red Dragon)!

You can add these games to your inventory for free and play whenever you want! 😀 You can get all the previous prizes available! They also included a special treat for all you Members out there (lucky :P): They re-released the Mech Pilot costume (Steamworks) and the Renegade robot for a limited time!

If you missed them before, or if you have just become a member some time ago, you now get another chance to get these Members-only gold cards! 🙂 If you aren’t a member, the Creators are encouraging you to sign up! Well, stay tuned for more Birthday fun coming to Poptropica!

The Creators also have other updates: a video concerning heat map technology and another countdown timer!

The Creators said that this is a feature they were working on for one of the new islands. Could it be for the E.vile Legen-wait-for-it-dary island? Looks like we have to wait to find out! 🙂

They also put in a  countdown timer for Mystery Train, letting you know the exact moment when your train leaves the station (Get it? 😀 )! It releases in less than a week! Excited, members? 😛 So what’s your departure time?

Happy 4th Birthday to Poptropica!

Guess what? It’s getting close to someone’s special day :D. Especially someone who’s been providing us with quality entertainment and exciting adventures for almost…that’s right, 4 whopping years of fun! Guess who it is? That’s right, happy birthday to Poptropica!

What started out as a small online game advertised on the Funbrain website has now become A GLOBAL phenomenon. Poptropica has really, really, really grown in four years. So far there’s been 21 islands, tons of minigames, HUNDREDS of sweet costumes, lots of gold cards, many new and cool features, and MILLIONS of players worldwide.

To celebrate it, the creators announced on the PCB the 4th B-day and what they’ll be releasing to us to celebrate it!

According to the PCB, all September long Poptropicans will have a chance at winning a special costume! By visting multiplayer rooms, anyone will get a chance of finding a special birthday present. The present is the special “4” balloon that marks Poptropica’s 4th birthday. It’s sort of like the “3” balloon last year. Once you find the 4th balloon, you can pop it to get a special present! The present apparently is a limited edition cake suit. It’s featured in the PCB image above.

Another thing the creators are releasing to us is a members only exclusive item. Yep, members now have a limited edition chance to obtain special gold costumes like the Light Ninja. These were limited edition costumes, previously out of the Poptropica Store. Now members have a chance of obtaining these items for another limited time. If you missed out on your first chance, here’s another try. Each week in September, two of these items will be re-released again.

And lastly, everyone gets a special “4” balloon just by claiming it in the Poptropica Store. These balloons are for everyone, so head on over to the store to get your very own commemorative balloon.

So for everyone on this blog, one word: PARTAYYY! Poptropica’s 4th birthday is looming near, and I’m encouraging all players to celebrate it. 😀

I’m sure most of you already finished Astro Knights Island, but for the people who haven’t yet, Poptropica made a step-by-step walkthrough with video guides and all you need to complete one of the most challenging islands ever made on Poptropica! Of course, you can always use our PHB Island Help resources! 😀 Here’s how to get it and how it works (thanks to Striped Grape for the pics) :

Go to Astro Knights Island and walk until you see this stand:

Simply click on the card to get it! The best par: it’s free! *throws confetti into the air* 😀 The card appears in your Astro Knights inventory. Click “USE” and this menu should pop up:

Main Menu: This is the main page that pops up. It shows the most popular help topics that people need help on in Astro Knights.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough: This page shows the steps needed to complete Astro Knights! It tells you how to get items, where and when you get to use them, how to solve the tile puzzle, and how to defeat bosses like the Dragotank and Binary Bard. Each step is accompanied by a video guide with a play, pause, and repeat button so you can watch all the action! 😀

Help Topics by Category: The name should explain it all, shouldn’t it? 😀  The help topics are categorized by Key Items, Quest Objectives, and Boss Battles.
