Daily Pop Peeks: camels and canines and bears, oh my!

Hey Poptropicans! The month of April brought along some noteworthy sneak peeks over on the Daily Pop, some of which we’ll take a look at here. For the complete collection of pictures and captions, check out our sneak peek archive page, updated monthly!

First up, we’ve been seeing a few more peeks for the upcoming Mystery of the Map Island. (For even more, check out some of last month’s peeks, and of course the archive itself as well.)

Meanwhile, development for Arabian Nights: Ep. 3 is still in motion, and a look at the official Tour page now reveals the title (“Careful What You Wish For”) and description for the final episode:

The genie is out of the bottle, and now everyone wants a chance to make their wishes come true. But whether you’re a greedy merchant, a lovelorn palace guard, or a Sultan with a long-buried secret, heed this advice: be careful what you wish for!

Hmm… and what’s up with that overly-friendly camel?

Over the Top: Things are looking up.
Camel Kiss: We’ve got this problem licked.
Take a Look: But you don’t have to take my word for it.
Dust to Dust: This gemstone is a smash hit.

Skeleton Key: Fantastic spikes through balloon is a classic.

And finally, here are some other miscellaneous sneak peeks from the past month. Could all these animals be linked to something? We do know the K9 dogs were just some test ideas the Creators sketched out (more on that in SD’s post below), and perhaps the description of the home picture is alluding to the previously-confirmed Timmy Failure Island.

Bear Minimum: Hibernation came early this year.
Animal Kingdom: Come to me, jungle friends.
Bank on It: You’ll vault ahead if you make your deposits here.
K9 Cop: This place has gone to the dogs.
Look Out Below: Wait for the drop…

Daily Pop Peeks: Prepare for MotM Island!

It looks like we’re having a Mystery of the Map Island soon! The Daily Pop sneak peeks from the past month or so have clearly been referencing scenes from the MotM graphic novel. Check it out. 😀

One Warm Line: Toward the beaux fort, see?
Embers: This fire burns, always.
High on the Hog: Eat, drink, and be merry.
GPS: You’ll never get lost, unless you already are.
Wildlife: Get in touch with your wild side.
Drydock: This one’s gone to ground.
Pen Pals: Rage, rage against the cage.
Whitewater: We’re looking at a raft of problems now.
Leftovers: Plenty more where that came from.
Atlas Shrugged: Now we’ve really gone off the map.
Mast Head: Don’t cross the streams.
Uncharted: This settlement is off the map.
Grotto Preminger: We’ll be direct: this common room is a star.
Fishbone: One of the greatest bands of all time.
Game of Thrones: Iron would be preferable to old splintered wood.
Basket Case: What a deflating voyage.
Run Aground: Whatever floats your boat.
Ascend: You will have seen the mountaintop.

Yup, the graphic novel will be coming to life on Poptropica. The sneak peeks are the same as the novel — the deflated hot air balloon (which they rode on), the map, the broken viking ship, and even Oliver, Mya and Jorge inside the cage! Another thing to point out, looks like the common room in this island is called “Viking’s Grotto”. For what I can tell, it looks like we’re going to save the gang from the Vikings and stop Octavian from his diabolical plans.

If you’re still not convinced, try typing mysteryofthemapisland.com – and it will direct to Poptropica! According to a Whois search, the domain has been owned by Poptropica since February 25, 2015.

Graphic novel island, MotM p. 10-13, & TinkerBell NeverBeast ad

What’s popping, Poptropicans? This week’s Daily Pops seem to be strongly hinting at an island (or ad, or adventure of some sort) based on the Poptropica graphic novel (Mystery of the Map) – the origin story we’ve been looking forward to. Check them out:

Basket Case: What a deflating voyage.
Collapse: Jared Diamond might have something to say about this.
Downfall: Don’t go chasing these things.

There’s the crashed hot air balloon, along with other natural scenes that seem to fit in with what we’ve seen so far. Perhaps the three-deckered cave is a multiplayer common room?

Plus, the Vikings and dodo bird sneak peek from last week most likely fits in with this “island” as well: in the most recent Mystery of the Map (MotM) page, the bird makes its first appearance.

Lastly, there’s an ad (girls only!) for Disney’s TinkerBell and the Legend of the NeverBeast (I found it on Poptropolis Games). Inside, you can collect a free NeverBeast Follower, feed the NeverBeast by clicking the catapult, customize from the dummies (although other than fairy wings, their costumes don’t seem to be loading), read a synopsis, watch a trailer, and meet other players (it’s a common room).

Looks like an interesting story so far! 😀

Over on the Daily Pop, many of the sneak peeks this month have been for the upcoming final episode of Arabian Nights – but in the mix is this character sheet for a bunch of Vikings (and what appears to be a dodo bird). Could this be for something entirely new? As Tiny Socks points out, this looks like it could be for an adventure (island? ad?) based on the graphic novel, since we’ve previously seen these characters in Mystery of the Map sneak peeks like this one or this one.

Penguin Power & Arabian Nights Ep. 3 peeks

Hey Poptropicans! If you head on over to Main Streets right now, there’s a new ad for the new Dreamworks movie Penguins of Madagascar (I found it on Mythology Island). Click on it to receive the Penguin Power! (thanks to ~Anime_Cookie~ for the ad alert!)

Pressing the space bar will make your character equip a handheld bag of Cheezy Dibbles (delicious) and a big penguin will pop up on the screen for a moment. You’ll retain the snack bag after the effect.

Next in news, here’s a recap of the Daily Pops for this week, as well as some from the upcoming week that have already been uploaded to Poptropica’s servers. Most seem to be for Episode 3 of Arabian Nights, and the “Dig Deep” one with the miners might be for the hinted-at underground cave island.
