Home Island, Member Gifts, Membership

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Warmest greetings, Poptropicans. It’s Lucky Joker here with the second wave of members gifts as part of Poptropica’s 12 Days of Member Gifts event.

The three most recent items members have received are a Snow Car, a Santa Beard, and a Unicorn Horn (which looks similar to a couple of unicorn horns we’ve gotten in the past, but still cool nonetheless).

By the way, if you purchase a membership anytime within the month, you’ll get all 12 of the exclusive items. How wonderful!

Also, I’m here to show you the new Home Island makeover! It’s not as decorated as I would’ve hoped for December, but it’s still pretty nice. I quite like the snowfall and the grab-a-snowball igloo station.

But yeah, other than that, it’s not much… just wintery piles of snow, the occasional baby penguin, and even a few remaining fall leaves.

That’s it for now it folks! What do you think of the new Home Island and the member gifts we’ve gotten so far?

Thank you all for reading and I’ll talk to you guys in the next one. Pop on!

Home Island, Store

It’s whimsical wizardry on Home Island and in the Pop Store! ✨

Salutations, Poptropicans! It’s Lucky Joker here and today I bring some exciting new updates!

First, Home Island has received its routine seasonal makeover — continuing with the night theme of October, but a bit more toned down this time.

There’s a darker, almost gloomier ambience with the overcast sky, however, with the bright, colorful leaves and wizarding tidbits all around to contrast, everything just balances out evenly. I really like it — especially the free wands booth (and yes, he will give you a free wand)!

The store has received an update for this month too! A few new costumes that fall in with the whole wizard theme have been added along with a multitude of returning classics. Here is the current stock below:

Costumes

New costumes: Student Wizard, Apprentice Wizard, Dark Wizard (members only), Wicked Wizard

Followers/Powers/Pranks

New tricks: Magic Cloud Rider, Levitation Spell, Spark Shower

Welp, that’s it for now. What do you think of the wizarding world of Home Island and store items?

Thank you all for reading, have a magical day, and I’ll talk to you guys in the next one. Pop on!

Haunted Home Island with spooky store goodies

Oh hallo…weenever expected spooky season to be upon us so soon!

Coming just at the close of September and only a couple weeks after its previous fall makeover, Home Island has been redecorated once again, this time with Halloween charm. Check it out:

A deep blue-green night sky envelops the island, which is glowing green from its windows, plus covered in jack-o-lanterns, floating candles, and other fun decor. Even the duckie got dolled up as Dr. Hare! You can also smash pumpkins and catch a slimy candy apple from the local witch, all in good fun.

As you might’ve seen, the store has also joined in on the Halloween party! This update includes four new costumes, one follower, and a prank.

Hop on over to get your very own:

  • Ghastly Pumpkin Follower
  • Dance-a-corn Costume (tap space bar to dance)
  • Fairytale Costume (tap space bar to read)
  • Headlessman Costume (tap space bar to twirl)
  • Inflatable Rex Costume
  • Witch’s Brew (pranktap space bar to throw the potion, which turns the nearest character’s head into a fish, rat, or frog)

Joy of joys, each one of these items is available to all players—no membership required!

With Halloween approaching, that means it’s almost time for an annual PHB tradition: the Halloween Costume Contest! We’ll have more details for you in October, but with Poptropica already on the festivities, it’s not too early to start thinking about your Halloween outfit… 🎃🦕✨

Enjoy the goodies, Poptropicans!

Moved by Pride: drawing easel coming to Home Island

Hey Poptropicans! Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

Poptropica is promoting the LGBTQ spirit with their latest Instagram post, featuring a Pride-themed fan art piece made with Poptropica’s drawing easel.

In fact, they were so impressed by the fan drawing of the happy Poptropican at a rainbow parade that they’re promising to move the easel to Home Island for easier access. Comments on their post indicate that they’re considering adding a save button to the easel as well.

Right now, the drawing easel can only be accessed on Counterfeit Island, in front of the Moldy Baguette Inn on Main Street. But based on Poptropica’s post, it seems that’s about to change!

The artist, who’s also known as CraftyPoptropican elsewhere in the Poptropica fandom, has created other great pieces of fan art as well. We featured his work with a Pop Fan Artist Spotlight last year on the PHB, and you can also find more of his stuff on DeviantArt and Instagram.

In fact, here’s another piece from Crafty on Instagram, also made with the drawing easel! This one’s a parody of the 18th-century rococo painting The Swing, featuring Poptropica villain Binary Bard.

In addition to all of this, our theme for Community Creations this month here on the PHB is “Pride”! Hopefully this inspires you to create something—and maybe you could give it a try on Poptropica’s drawing easel! Ours isn’t just about sexual orientation, though. You’re welcome to share anything you’re proud of… more details here.

That’s all for this post! Share your thoughts in the comments, and as always, stay popping, Poptropicans. May your pride shine in the right places. 🌈

App, Photo Booth

Poptropica Original syncs across devices, usurping Pop Worlds

It looks like the Creators have been hard at work on something, at least, because they’ve just announced a major app update: You can now log into your Poptropica.com account on the Poptropica Original app!

To update (or download, if you don’t have it yet) your Poptropica app on your mobile device, simply head over to the App Store (for Apple) or Play Store (for Android) and install the latest update. Then, you’ll be able to access pets, new shop items, and your Island save data!

Actually, it’s now much the same as the online version of Poptropica, but with this major difference: there are less islands on the app than on the computer. But hopefully, over time, more will be added…

Another difference on the app is that we don’t have clubhouses yet (or friends, for that matter). But again, maybe those things will come with time. There is a coming soon sign on the clubhouse door, so we’ll see.

It’s still a pretty impressive update from the Poptropica dev team, but it raises a question: with Poptropica Original now able to sync across devices, what will happen to Poptropica Worlds, which was the first Poptropica app to do just that? (And, in fact, was created in order to keep up with the latest tech…)

Play across multi-devices!

With the recent change to the home page last month, Poptropica Worlds was quietly removed from view, although you can still find a link to play it if you search the internet. Having gone a year without being updated, perhaps it’s safe to say there are no plans to continue with Worlds?

In other news, Poptropica’s Milk It campaign is still going strong! It turns out the Photo Booth was updated as well, with one new background and four new props related to the act of drinking milk.

Anyway, that’s what’s popping in Poptropica! Will you be playing on the Poptropica app more? What islands should they bring to the app? What do you think should happen to Pop Worlds? Let us know what you think of these updates in the comments below.
