Things Poptropica Should Bring Back

PDbringback

Hey guys! Slippery here.

I have a new discussion! Let’s start?

Poptropica has brought a lot of new features and upgrades over the years but as time goes by, some of them are left forgotten and abandoned. Thatโ€™s the topic I want to talk about: things that Poptropica should bring back.

treasurehunt

Treasureย Hunts

Back in 2008, in honor of the release of Spy Island and Nabooti Island, Poptropica hid bonus items around Poptropica and if youโ€™re lucky to find these items, youโ€™ll receive free stuff! I just hope that they would bring these hunts back in the game.

Countdowns

Back in the old days, Poptropica did countdowns before island releases. The most recent countdown was made in September 2014 (for Poptropica Land). I really appreciate countdowns because I will know the time when Poptropica will update. They deserve to be brought back, too.

Pre-Island Quests/Previews

One thing I really enjoyed in playing Poptropica back then was the pre-island quests. Back in 2010, Poptropica started these previews with the Nessie mini-game for Cryptids Island and was continued until the Nano-Combat Training for Virus Hunter Island. For me, the best pre-island preview was the Spook Central and Money Ladder. There are some of these that are still found in game: Shrink Shot and Prepare for Impact. These deserve to be brought back because itโ€™s fun and gives away rare and great prizes to all.

Blast from the Past, Books, New Islands

Verdana Island?

Hi Gs,

futureI’m sure that title threw you off guard, but get this: remember Future Island from way back when? The mysterious book on Amazon by Caroline Laidlaw that had no cover or description? You’ve probably already guessed it – it’s released now. That doesn’t solve the mystery, however.

“Poptropica Future Island Adventure” is a part of the Poptropica English series of content, which isn’t surprising. Pearson seems to be trying to milk what little time they have left with Poptropica. Caroline, as discussed previously, has written other books for Penguin Kids, which seems to have been changed to Pearson Kids.

The book is short, only having 40 pages, so probably won’t have anything really deep when it comes to story. ๐Ÿ˜›ย I haven’t gotten a chance to read it, but from the description, it seems really interesting:

It is one thousand years in the future on the island of Verdana. For Leo, Carla, Tim and Ola, life is sad and boring. There are no trees or animals. The streets are dirty and polluted, and the children are chased by horrible robots! But Ola’s grandfather, Popp, remembers life in the past, before Verdana lost its wildlife. “Something terrible happened one day, a long time ago…” Join Popp and the brave young friends on their exciting adventure to clean up the island and stop the robots.

Verdana Island, huh? Like the font? ๐Ÿ˜›ย Sounds like a Lorax story, but here’s what I’m interested about: Popp tells the kids that “Something terrible happened one day, a long time ago…”. Whaat? Does this relate in any way to the timeline of Poptropica?

WAIT. STOP THE ROBOTS?! DID E. VILE FINALLY COME TO PLANET POPTROPICA WITH HIS ROBOT ARMY?ย IS LEGENDARY SWORDS COMING BACK?

We’ll just have to see. I’m planning on buying the book soon, and I’ll update you guys when I get it.

TAFN.

Poptropica Journal – 8/30/10 – Jeff Kinney

Hi Gs – this post was actually aย letterย written way back in 2010 to the founder of Poptropica, Jeff Kinney. I actually did send it to him, and it’s pretty funny how some of the Island ideas that I had actually were brought to lifeย later, intentional or not. Read theย previousย Poptropica Journal here.

poptropicaJournal

Dear Jeff Kinney,

I am your biggest fan, bigger than Gram (founder of Poptropica Productions) who makes Poptropica movies! I love your books to! I am going to read your new book, The Ugly Truth. I am even making islands of my own, Survive Island and Phantom Carnival Island! I wasnโ€™t going to let Monster Carnival Island go to waste! I was REALLY looking forward Monster Carnival Island, but one day Time Tangled came out and I didn’t even notice that it was gone. A year later I read about it on a blog, and how it disappeared off of the blimp. I had just read a book about a bizarre carnival that just appeared over night, and it turned out to be a movie! I thought about and I finally got the results: Phantom Carnival Island! Everything is more than it should be, like in the merry-go-round, the horses turn into dragons!

I am already writing the scriptย for my Survive Island! I will send the scrap book for it soon! I write articles about your islands to! I wrote three articles about Steamworks Island! I have found that creating an island can get a little boring, but then something new comes out of your head, and itโ€™s all fresh again!

I used to be writing a diary/journal for publishing, but I realized that it put to much stress on my life, so I quit. See what I did there? I visited your website, and wimped myself. I also listened to Joshes hit song, and believe me; I see what Gregory meant when he said โ€œsometimes I donโ€™t know about that kidโ€ (talking about Rowley)! I really hope that we could meet someday, but for now, Iโ€™m stuck in 3rd grade with a bunch of morons! Just kidding (I really home school). Bye!

Sincerely,
Andrew L. Wiles, eight years old

P.S. I also draw to, and like to make posters.

Poptropica Journal – 8/3/11 (9 year old Puterpop!)

Hi Gs – this post is actually a journal entry from way back in 2011. Mystery Train was just announced and I had just started a Poptropica journal. Do note that this is old news, just from the perspective of a 9 year old. I thought it was cute, and I hope you enjoy. :3

Hello.

As you can see on the cover, my name is Andrew. I’m a Poptropica fan. #1 Poptropica fan. Poptropica FANATIC! Now, onto Poptropica. Its a virtual world that, hello teachers, is educational. You make a character, then jump on your blimp, a hot air balloon, and travel to an island in need of help. You save it with logic and FOCUS!!!

poptropicaJournal

Now, updates. Mystery Train island is the new Island coming soon. It’s about, you guessed it, a train robbery.

A new before-island mini game “sneak peak” is coming soon too, for Mystery Train. It takes place in an old fashioned restaurant. I’m guessing you have to cater to customers as fast as you can!

Another thing: E! Also known as Evil inc. Sharkboy posted a video on the Creator’s blog: Coming soon to Poptropica – E – September 2011??? I found out it’s based on a comic with superheroes, with mutant robots and stuff.

GHD guides, P-Con Ep. 3 postponed & more Realms

Hey everyone! Have you checked out Galactic Hot Dogs Island yet? The Creators just released their official video walkthrough! But if you prefer aย written guide, we’ve got oneย with pictures right hereย that will help you on your quest. ๐Ÿ™‚ You can see the video walkthrough below:

PoptropiCon Ep. 3 postponed

You may or may not haveย noticed, but the Creators didn’t release PoptropiCon Ep. 3: Reign of Omegon yesterday (Feb. 5) despite what they said earlier inย this tweet:

pconep3

So, I decided to contact them, and they said that the island will probably come out next month because they are swamped over at Poptropica headquarters.

I hopeย they can get the finalย episode out soon! I want to defeat Omegon!

More remarkable Poptropica Realms creations

Lately, theย Creators have been posting a lot of creations made on Poptropica Realms by Poptropicans all over the globe. Check out this or this post for some recent batches. Plus, here areย two more remarkably amazing Realms they recently tweeted:

Wow – my favorite is the pirate ship! Anyway, that’s all for now! Tell me in the comments what you think about PoptropiCon Ep. 3 being postponed, and your thoughts on the Realms creations. ๐Ÿ™‚
