Great Pumpkin Island, Sneak Peeks

Good grief, Pumpkin Island!

Today on the Creators’ Blog, Captain Crawfish revealed the Great Pumpkin Island map – or some of it, anyway. We still don’t know much about the island, but there are seven areas – a lot less than most other islands, but still pretty cool! Here’s the image below. What places do you think we’ll get to visit?

Good things do come in small packages, after all.

And at the end of his PCB post, Crawfish hints that there are plenty of mini-games and adventures on GP Island that don’t appear on the map, so it’s more than it looks! The PHB has also updated its Island Help page to include resourceful links about Great Pumpkin Island, so be sure to check those out! 🙂

Lucy: no match for Pair of Kings

Over on Great Pumpkin Island, one of the girls from the Peanuts gang – Lucy van Pelt – has decided to come join the scene… but she’s standing away from the others, complaining to anyone who will listen about how her brother Linus is ruining her reputation.

Meanwhile, if you talk to the boys, Charlie admits that he kind of admires Linus for standing up for what he believes in – the Great Pumpkin – while Linus himself is feeling more and more certain that this coming Halloween, the Great Pumpkin will be choosing this very pumpkin patch. 😛

In other news, older players currently have access to a new advertisement game themed on Pair of Kings, a Disney XD show. The objective is to make it through a cave maze and eventually reach the two kidnapped kings, who are stuck inside a cage.

Upon rescuing them, you will be awarded a Pair of Kings Outfit and Volcano Totem (which rains down volcanic rocks when used!). If you need help, check out Loud Shark’s video walkthrough below:

The PHB doesn’t just rock…

it boulders. 🙂

The party don’t stop, oh

That’s right – DON’T STOP PARTYING! O:

Proud to be awesome. That's Poptropica.

Why? WHY? You must know why! The nice guys at Poptropica have decided that they aren’t going to leave any player out of the b-day celebrations. If you’re having absolutely no luck at all in finding that sneaky rare 3-balloon, it’s okay.

You can still get something (ooh! a present? for me? *squeal*) – orange balloons with a blue “3” on them are being given away for FREE at the Poptropica Store! It’s free, fun, and keeps you happy! 😀

So come on and

LET’S KEEP THIS PARTY GOING!

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to sing a song to your favorite computer game!

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear Poptropica
Happy birthday to you

…and many more (:

It could’ve been so different… :O

Update: For reasons unknown, the post mentioned below has been removed from the Creators’ Blog! Kind of weird… and nobody knows why! (Thanks for noticing, Explorer Bronze.)

Do you know what Poptropica may have looked like in its early stages of development? The Poptropica team sure had some different styles of designing back then! Check it out:

Poptropica’s embarrassing baby photos

Do your parents ever like to embarrass you by showing your baby pictures to your friends? Mine sure did, until I got even. Oh, did I get even…

Um, anyway, it turns out that Poptropica has some embarrassing baby photos of its own. You already know that when you start a new game, you can customize your Poptropican any way you’d like. It looks a little something like this.

Way back when we started planning Poptropica, we knew we wanted to let you customize your character. But, er, this is how we initially sketched it out.

Yikes! Of course, it was never meant to look this way for real. We just wanted to demonstrate how changing your character would work. Still… yeesh. I can’t believe we used to look like that. How embarrassing!

Silent pumpkins, chatty Charlie

TODAY, you can meet the famous Charlie Brown on Poptropica! Just head over to the unfinished Great Pumpkin Island on the Map – he and Linus will be waiting for you! (Well, actually, Linus is waiting for the Great Pumpkin to visit for Halloween.)

If a pumpkin grows in an empty patch…

…does it make a sound?

Well, I’m not sure if any growing pumpkin makes a sound. But I do know that it’d be a shame to leave the Great Pumpkin Island pumpkin patch empty this week. Those pumpkins are starting to grow, all right. And now, if you visit you can talk to another PEANUTS character!

That’s right, good ol’ Charlie Brown is in the pumpkin patch with Linus, and he’s got plenty to say. Head over to Poptropica and take a look!

SHARK BOY

According to Charlie, they’re waiting for the Great Pumpkin to choose the pumpkin patch they are on – which is already starting to fill up with pumpkins! Although you may not believe in the Great Pumpkin’s existence, Charlie will tell you that the only thing more unlikely than the Great Pumpkin visiting… is convincing Linus that it doesn’t exist. What do you think? Will the Great Pumpkin make an appearance?
