Hello, everyone!
It’s Lucky Joker here today with news from the Creators’ Blog, and, to be quite honest, it’s more of the same from last week’s disappointments.
About the most interesting thing to occur is the new header at the top, but the design itself isn’t new—it’s a crop of the main screen from Poptropica Worlds.
As far as post content, in the past week, there have been two Island Highlights (for GHD Island & Timmy Failure Island, both of which are old news) and another Outfit of the Week post.
The Island Highlights are about as bland as before, and as for the Outfit of the Week, this time the writer didn’t even bother to list the steps of how to put the costume together. Well, at least it’s not littered with inaccuracies this time.
As far as this Grim Reaper outfit goes, it’s not very original. You can literally get the costume in its entirety from the Haunted House mini-quest. At least mentioning some sort of description would’ve made the post just that much better in terms of quality.
Not only does this “Outfit of the Weak” (as we’ve dubbed it) not include a description, there’s also no signature, so we’re left to wonder who even wrote this post—and the several bad ones before it.
However, there’s a glimmer of hope: the unnamed Creators have also this week issued a post titled “We Want to Hear From You!”, where they ask what we would like to see on the blog and in the game itself. Granted, they asked this already about a month ago on social media, to little effect on their part, but we’ll see where this goes.
Our answers to this question should be pretty clear if the Creators have been at all paying attention to their fans, including here on the PHB.
To start with what we’d like to see in the game, we’ve listed many ideas in our Pop Petition series, plus Poptropicans in the comments of these posts have agreed and added their own ideas as well. Take a cue, Creators.
As for the Creators’ Blog, it’s not rocket science: we want to see more relevant, quality posts and communication with fans. Right now, it’s a far cry from what it used to be with former Creators like Skinny Moon (social media manager) and Captain Crawfish (writer). With months of waiting between island releases, we as fans want to see something that will keep us interested—simply throwing out old news isn’t going to do the trick. Accurate descriptions for each Outfit of the Week would be a good start, but sneak peeks every once in a while wouldn’t hurt either. 😉

Poptropica didn’t fire Skinny Moon; she decided to leave on her own. Different story for the three developers, though.
Did they, or are they trying to get another social media manager?
Not sure. They do have someone making (uninteresting) posts on social media, but they’re not as interactive with the fans as it used to be.
This is just sad. I used to always check the pop blog every morning but I stopped after the blog didn’t make a new post for like 3 MONTHS! I love(ed) this game but I don’t like the direction that it’s taking. I still haven’t gotten around to playing Greek seas odyssey (especially since I didn’t even know it was out). After all of this, No wonder poptropica isn’t as popular as it has once been. I wish at least one of the former members would give us an idea of what is going behind the scenes.
Same! And when are they going to release an island of Poptropica Original? Pop Original is better than Worlds. (even though you get the closet and the checklist and everything)
Well, that will kind of destroy the purpose of Pop Worlds. Pop Worlds is SUPPOSE to be better than Pop Original, but it had a rough start. Although, it doesn’t appear that the so-called devs are putting any effort into doing that. If the devs at Poptropica were into it (and if Jeff Kenny were as focused on it) as they were back in 2010/12, Pop Worlds would have been the ultimate sequal to the original.
Besides, Adobe Flash is ending in the next two years. There wouldn’t be much of a point.
Yeah, there won’t be another island on Poptropica Original because Flash (which it’s built on) will not be supported in a couple years. More on that here.
That Out-unfit of the Week is hilariously crappy.
I pretty much agree with the entirety of this post. Heavily dislike how the creators are treating their own game now.
DO WHAT YOU WERE DOING FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS POPTROPICA!!!! yOU’RE THE “CREATORS” OF THE GAME ANYWAY. I CANT BELIEVE POPTROPICA!!!! SO LAZY!!!!
BTW sorry if I sounded extreme. It’s just that I’ve been playing poptropica for years now, and I really miss doing the islands, their challenges, their stories, sigh. If poptropica doesn’t do something good in the next month, Im done.

Well, you gotta consider that Adobe Flash is ending soon. I do admit Pop Worlds is really mediocore, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t fixable.
Then again, if nothing or no one saves it, it’ll probably never get fixed. 😕

SMT why cant we just talk about what they want us to talk about! us thinking of new islands. I have a idea (reply is you agree or want to improve it) Ok it will be like a really olden day like map where you have togo around sending out flyers for the invention you just made. All of a sudden thomas eddison (sorry if i didnt spell his name right) comes and steals your invention so you have to go and get it back. You go to a really big lair with a kite for it’s symbol. So you enter and all of the presidents gather around thomas. You jump into a barrel and look through a crack only to see that the presidents steal their inventions. So everything the townsfolk think is theirs isn’t really theirs. (More detail later) (More story later)

Ok I want to say 2 things in this comment. 1 Wow honestly back in around 2017 when the community was really dying I thought Poptropica could not get anymore worse then it already was. Fast forward to 2018 and my gosh Poptropica is at its new record of the worse state ever.Losing many Poptropica creators being the main reason. Now I have desided that after I finish the current video on my Youtube channel that I am working on right now. My next video after is going to be named “The State Of Poptropica”. The video is going to be a long,detailed and sad video explaining how Poptropica is at a downfall right now…. I never thought I was ever going to want to make such a video but Poptropica’s state is really pushing me to say it.
Also another thing I want to say is that I think that most of the Potpropicans in the Poptropica community has forgotten that you can comment on the Poptropica Creators blog. When I check the Poptropica Creators blog I almost all the times see no comments on any of there newer posts. Since I see that you Poptropicans are saying that the Poptropica Creators have not been learning/ active with there fans on social media but one way how we can surely content them now is by commenting on there blog posts. Hopefully they will listen.
I too have noticed the scarcity of comments on the Creators’ Blog. I left a link to this very post under their ‘We Want to Hear From You’ post, but unfortunately, it was never approved by whoever is responsible for doing so. That probably explains why there aren’t any comments. It’s not that they’re not there—they’re just not visible to all of us viewers. With the dwindling effort from the creators we’ve been seeing lately, I wouldn’t be surprised if this has happened to others as well.
Ohhh so what you are trying to say is that the Creators who are left maybe do not really like the comment box. Oh ok.
The PHB should buy Poptropica and return it to its former glory
