Wimpy Wonderland Island

Walking in a Wimpy Wonderland

It’s as clear as black-and-white (literally!): Wimpy Wonderland is the next Poptropica island!

Here’s the island description from the official info page:

The kids in town are enjoying a snow day – all except for Greg Heffley, whose little brother Manny has gone missing! It’s up to you to find Manny, but before you do, you’ll have to contend with surly teenagers, crabby senior citizens, and those rotten Whirley Street kids. Join Greg, Rowley, Rodrick, and the rest of the Wimpy Kid characters for a snow-capped adventure you’ll never forget!

We also have our own WW island page here and it is also listed on our Island Help. Note that there are more Wimpy sneak peeks from the Daily Pop if you’re interested – the black-and-white ones.

Right now you can log in to Poptropica for a sneak preview of the upcoming adventure and talk to some of the characters, including Greg Heffley and weirdo Fregley (“Wanna see my secret freckle?” xD). You can also chase Greg’s little brother Manny up a tree, but if you try to enter any buildings, it will tell you to come back in mid-March. That’s right, Poptropica members get to play this island this month!

For those who didn’t know: Jeff Kinney is the creator of Poptropica, and also the author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book/movie series, which this island is based on. So this is pretty cool, since everyone loves DOAWK, right? 😀 (shame on you if you don’t. :c)

Wild West Island

Slap that Jack

Captain Crawfish 28-Because EL5 was too lazy to think of a nomming adventure, I will fall into his mouth chopped in half. *does so*

EL5-NOMONOMOMOMOMOMONOMONOMNOMON. Now for this awesome yet previously declared update. We’ve got some news about our slapjack tricks. Posted on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog was some advice for one of the games on Wild West Island – Slap Jack!

One of the games on Wild West Island is a version of the card game Slap Jack. It follows the standard rules: you and your opponents take turns dealing one card into the center pile. When somebody puts down a Jack, the first player to slap the pile wins the cards. You win when all of your opponents have run out of cards. Sounds pretty simple, right? Well, it is, except for one thing: the fake-out.

When you’re dealing a Jack from your pile, you can bluff. Slide the card only partway to the center of the table, then pull it back, and there’s a chance one of your opponents might slap the pile anyway. If they do, you get a card from their draw pile. But be careful! Your opponents will try to fake you out, too. The same rule applies: if you slap the pile before the Jack is placed, you’ll lose a card to the player who tricked you.

Good luck out there. As with everything you’ll do on Wild West Island, the stakes are high.

THE CREATORS HAVE SPELT IT OUT FOR US IN BIG BOLD LETTERS!!!!

*Writing in diary*

Big, bold CAPITAL letters too. Don’t ask me why, but for some reason, Vlad The viking has revealed something startling…. His Uncle Fred is a giraffe!

Wait, WHAT?

*Scratches over that*

Something utterly surprising, though some of the PHB members figured it out a while ago. That… the truth is… that.. our fears are confirmed…

Random bystander: Will you just get on with it?!

Hey stop reading my diary!

Group of Random Bystanders: GET ON WITH IT!

No! I don’t want people reading my diary, espicially if it means you know what happened last tuesday when I thought that crayon was a cheesestick…

Random Bystander #17: We don’t know about that, but you’re kind of showing this entry up on the PHB…

Oh, O….K…… [to self] How am I doing that?

Huge group of Random Bystanders! Just get on with it!

OK! OK!

Well you’ll never believe this, but there are people outside who are somehow reading my diary, and they sound pretty mad too. So I better get to the good stuff.

Well

We’ll have the official announcement later in the week. There’s definitely something… familiar… about that silhouette.
