A look behind the scenes.

The creators have released a few pictures of the ‘behind the scenes’ work behind the release of Wimpy Boardwalk. Such as this one, where Jeff Kinney, Poptropica creator and Diary of a Wimpy Kid author, gives some advice to some of the Poptropica designers.

From this picture, we can tell two things. (Well, I can anyway. You may be able to find more.)

  1. It takes a LOT of designers to make a Wimpy Kid island.
  2. The designers are able to decorate their station with toys, posters, and other cool stuff!

So when you play a new island, just spare a thought for the people who have worked hard to make Poptropica the best it can be! 😀

There is probably a great deal of relief and satisfaction (and maybe a little partying) when a new island is released. Look at these lovely, big smiles!

As the title suggests, this appears to be a drawing of a Poptropica church interior, but since its upload on Dec 31, 2011, nothing of this sort has appeared on Poptropica… yet.

However, one of the comments she made on another Poptropica drawing (submitted Jan 11, 2011) offers some insight: “This is the art test – a drawing I made up to see if I could draw in Poptropica style – I submitted about a year and a half ago to Poptropica so they’d consider hiring me – and they did!”

Nor has this one ever appeared, but perhaps it wasn’t meant to (see above quote). Looks to be in the style of Red Dragon Island though. 🙂

What’s your Thunder Volt high score? Members can play this retro shooter video game as the bonus quest at the end of Wimpy Boardwalk Island. It looks like even Friendly Bug wasn’t able to beat Greg’s high score of 10 million… and that makes him/her an idiot, according to this high scores list!

Otherwise, the panda’ll destroy stuff. Or at least that’s what I know from Egyptian commercials. As a girl on the east coast of the US, don’t judge me for not knowing anything about pandas besides what I see in the media.

Is there ever a bad time for pandas?

A little over a year ago, we released an Island in cooperation with our friends at Magic Tree House. It’s called Red Dragon Island, and if you haven’t played it, you’re missing out on a thrilling adventure through old Japan with Jack and Annie, the heroes of the Magic Tree House series.(Oh, and you also get to master a bunch of awesome ninja skills like climbing up walls and using a grappling hook.)

Whether you’ve been through Red Dragon Island before or not, now’s a great time to head back. Not just because it’s a great adventure, but because the Magic Tree House store has been updated with the latest, greatest books from the series. Head on over to Poptropica and visit Red Dragon Island to get the scoop on A Perfect Time for Pandas, and its accompanying Fact Tracker, Pandas and Other Endangered Species.

And then find the ninja master and get to work!

If your answer is One Direction, you’re right!  In this PHB special, I’ll explain how you can dress like them on Poptropica using only 75 credits per band member (none if you’re a member). From left to right;

  • Niall: Hair from Reality TV Island Main Street, clothing from Leprechaun costume (Poptropica Store)
  • Zayn: Hair from standard customizing when signing up (make it black at the 24 Carrot Diner), clothing from Rock Singer costume – jacket, shirt with red tie, pants, microphone (Poptropica Store)
  • Louis: Hair from Cryptids Island Main Street, shirt from Mime on Counterfeit Island, mic from Rock Singer costume
