Keep Calm & Ad Lib

More big news has emerged regarding the new Poptropica books that Muddy Axe recently uncovered! For previous posts about the books, click here or here.

The Poptropica Mad Libs book now has a cover! You can also see it on Amazon.

Pencil Warrior‘s cover image is now on Amazon, which features the same villain from this PCB sneak peek last month, only instead of Skullduggery, the cover has a medallion saying “Time Twisted” (Time Tangled’s name before it was released).

The upcoming book Pencil Warrior appears to be a coloring book, but this 2007 article from FableVision seems to describe what we know of the plot as well. Strange that it’s only brought up now.

The new FableVision island merges Poptropica’s exploratory game play with a storyline that promotes creative expression. Under Reynolds’ creative direction, the game’s story features a virtual artist colony where a disgruntled inventor is removing all color and creativity from the island and kids come to the rescue to reverse the colorless chaos.

These books are set to release in November, so look forward to that! 🙂

Poptropica Adventures on the Nintendo DS!

A couple months ago, the PHB posted about Poptropica for the Nintendo DS (see this post). And now, the Creators’ Blog finally lists the “Poptropica Adventures” DS game under Merchandise, which can be found on Amazon for $29.99 (USD)! 😀
Thanks goes to reader matthewergc, who notified us that more information regarding the upcoming game has been released. The game’s release date is November 6, 2012, which is in another two months! Ubisoft, the DS game’s publisher, also lists the following information and pictures:

Poptropica, the most popular virtual world for kids is coming to the Nintendo DS! In Poptropica Adventures, the Poptropica museum is in ruins and needs your help! Explore three amazing Islands and find missing artifacts to help restore the museum to its former glory. Meet interesting characters, collect artifacts, solve puzzles, and play mini-games in the ultimate on-the-go Poptropica experience! Looking to stand out in a crowd? Customize the look of your avatar with new clothes, hats, hair styles, and more to show off your unique Poptropica style!

Key Features

  • Explore an Amazing World – Run and jump through unique Islands based on dynamic themes. As you explore, find items that unlock new areas and open new gameplay challenges.
  • Create a Character All Your Own – Customize the look of your avatar with new clothes, hats, hair styles and more! Progress in the game and you can replicate the clothes of characters you meet or find new clothing and items to create your own unique style.
  • Build a Collection Like No Other – Find gadgets and items as you progress in the game and complete your quests. Use these items to open new areas and display them in your Poptropica Museum.
  • Mini-Game Challenges – Complete the quests and unlock a host of mini-games that provide more challenges and variety.

Note that they mention 3 islands, and those seem to be (according to the screenshots) Mythology, Astro-Knights, and a possible new adventure Spy Island (Poptropicaddict points out the top 3 characters on the game cover). Sounds exciting! Will you be getting this game? 🙂

Bonus Items, Lunar Colony Island, Super Villain Island

Marvelling at the Blue Marble, zigging like Zaggy Moondust, and chillin’ like a villain

Because matchy titles are so fun to say. 😀

If you’ve played the new Lunar Colony Island, you may have seen this view of planet Earth Poptropica from the moon. Turns out, the Creators had planned for it to look like a real photograph called “Earthrise,” from the Apollo 8 mission. Pretty cool! For more space pics from the Creators (“Blue Marble” and “Pale Blue Dot”) click here.

Lunar Colony will be available to everyone starting on Thursday, September 6th. Be warned, though: there’s only one week left to get the limited edition “Zaggy Moondust” costume from the Poptropica Store! Become a member to get exclusive LC Island items, including Moon Rock and Alien Archaeology powers, for free.

The tour page for Super Villain Island was released, which you can read about in Brave Tomato’s post here. The discussion page for SV Island is also up on the PHB here, so check that out as well!

EDIT: Some PHB readers have noticed that Super Villain will be Poptropica’s 30th island, just in time for Poptropica’s 5th birthday! Awesomesauce. 😀

In other news, don’t forget to enter our PHB 7 million hits contest for a chance to win a rare costume prize! You can read about and enter it here. Have a great week! 🙂

Astro-Knights Island, Bonus Items, Counterfeit Island, Membership, Mythology Island, Skullduggery Island, Super Villain Island

The Faces of Evil in the Hearts of Darkness… Perfect…

Really. Really. Perfect. -_-

The official description for Super Villain Island has been released, and here’s what it says:

Deep inside a top-secret prison, four of Poptropica’s most infamous villains float in suspended animation. Your mission: to infiltrate their minds and extract the sources of their evil. Can you withstand a journey to the heart of darkness, or will their twisted dreams trap you forever?

Yikies. Sounds really, really dark… and as if you think the 4 twisted minds aren’t enough, if you’re a member, you have ONE MORE to worry about. Doesn’t exactly say who, either.

The world may be safe, but another villain stirs in his slumber. Do you dare to enter the dream machine once more, and visit a nightmarish version of one of the most popular Poptropica Islands?

I originally had a feeling the nightmare-ish island will be Shark Tooth (see Daily Pop: Breaking News), but Serious Shadow has reverted the picture for the bonus quest to normal and look at this:

That looks like Mythology Island’s Mount Olympus! *thinks* Now that I think about it, Mythology Island IS a very popular island…

And here are the members only items:

So let me get something straight…

We… are going… via dream machine… into the villains’ minds?!? And I have two questions:

  1. How did Dr. Hare get out of space?
  2. How did the Binary Bard get back to Poptropica without the orb?

I’m kinda confused, but all I know it’s about delving into the twisted minds of the four (five for members) villains and getting rid of their source of their insanity/evil. Like I said earlier, it sounds dark… but we can do it!!

BT out!
