The Top 5 Best Common Rooms

(¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.-> Hi Gs, <-.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯)

These days, Poptropica common rooms don’t get as much attention as they used to — but we’ve been missing out on a lot recently. The recent common rooms are awesome! Here are my top 5 best common rooms to date! 😀

5. Bananabee’s — Night Watch Island

This is a resturaunt spin off of Applebees, a popular classy restaurant. Poptropica once had a kids meal pamphlet that came with the meal featured at Applebees. I still have mine. ^-^

This common room has multiple tables and chairs, each with a dish of food sitting on it. It’s perfect for chatting, and on the top floor is a game room. It’s all very ritzy (as Applebee’s is), and has a nice feel to it. The attention to detail is very nicely done.

4. You Know the Drill Eatery — Super Villain Island

This common room has many key features that make it unique. The specials are sea cucumbers and burritos, there is a poster advertising the island’s villain, Dr Jupiter (also known as Zeus), and the name is just awesome! It has an oil rig theme, and a skyline view from the second floor. Some parts of it are new and modern, while others are not — it’s a great mixture, and creates a great environment!

3. The Hair Club — Spy Island

This common room’s outer building is shaped like a giant hair spray bottle and giant comb on the side. You can spray the giant hair spray bottle by jumping on the cap! 😛

Inside, it’s themed like a 1930s barber shop, with a jukebox, stage, and milk shakes sitting on nearly every table. It also has lights on the top floor. This is a timeless (though based on a time period) classic common room — it’s worth visiting! 😀

2. Celebrity Wax Museum — Backlot Island

This common room is just amazing. It features four wax celebrities; Elvis, Groucho Marx, Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn. Each of the celebrities are drawn, and Groucho Marx’s eyes follow your cursor, and he winks! I love this room for it’s artwork and creativity.

1. Party Time Tower — Time Tangled Island

This common room, when you’re talking about parties, has it all! It has balloons, a bubble machine, a huge birthday cake, more balloons, and a big clock — which doesn’t really go with the theme, but then again, it’s in Time Tangled Island.

This was released with Time Tangled Island as the third common room. It’s one of the biggest when you look at the outside of the building. It all has a special place in our hearts, and it’s the best place to be when Poptropica’s birthday comes around. 😉

Which common rooms are your favorite? Tell me in the comments! 😀 You can also vote in the poll below to see which common room from the the top 5 is everyone’s favorite. 🙂

And don’t forget — you might just see me in one of these common rooms, as I troll them! 😛

Get the all-new Poptropica iPad app for free!

Not long after the Creators announced that Poptropica would be coming to iPad, guess what? Poptropica came to iPad! The app is now available on the iTunes Store, and to top off the good news, it’s FREE! So what are you waiting for? (To get your hands on an iPad? Yeah, me too. 😛 )

That fancy promo animation was created by Tyson Burnham, who, as it turns out, works as a motion graphic designer for Poptropica! He has animated for Poptropica in the past, creating island trailers and other cool stuff, and you can check out a recent highlight reel of his work in another YouTube video. 🙂

As for the iPad app, it’s got 24 Carrot and Time Tangled so far, with more islands on the way – and yes, it’s just like the online version we know and love. It features the same art, the new soundtracks, up to 3 customizable characters, and more – details are on the app’s official info page. But as you may have noticed in the trailer video (around the 0:26 mark) or in the App Store’s screenshots, the iPad version comes with a new “Tutorial Island” (or “welcome scene”):

Yes, that’s the “Tutorial Island” HPuterpop uncovered in his sneak peek in the latest issue of our PHB magazine, which was just published last week! This little quest covers the basics of the app’s gameplay, and you’ll collect Medallion Shards along the way, right until you’ve got your whole Tutorial Island Medallion all pieced together.

And if you’ve been paying attention to some semi-recent PHB posts, this probably dispels the rumors of a Sky Island or Asgard Island, seeing as the very “island/castle in the sky” imagery we’ve been seeing in the Daily Pop has been implemented here. Thanks for crushing our dreams, Creators. (Just kidding, we still love you guys. But not everyone has an iPad.)

Anyway, iPad owners, how’s the game been for you? Do share your thoughts in the comments so we can hear about how awesome it is! 😀 Or, tell us what other devices you’d want to play Poptropica on.

To introduce the new ad, that’s what I’m here to do…

…and it really makes me happy, to introduce to you…

THE MUPPETS MOST WANTED AD! YAYYYYYY! *flails*

What’s popping, Poptropicans? Blake here, and today’s post is on the new Muppets Most Wanted video ad! All you have to do is watch the movie trailer, and you’ll get the Kermit Spirit Hoodie:

Also, it says to come back next week for the Constantine Criminal Power! This power looks like it steals the hair of other Poptropicans, so it looks like either a) it’s useful for uncostumizable hair, or b) we get to be Director D. Oh wait. I’m still flailing. *stops flailing* Sorry, avid Muppets fan here.

UPDATE: The Constantine Criminal Power is now available on the ad – just watch the video to get it! Though all it does is give you a mole and a briefcase…

I myself attended an advance screening of Muppets Most Wanted. I would give you pics, but I’m under pure contract not to reveal anything. Blake out! *poof*

Today’s your lucky day! Poptropica’s coming to iPad!

Poptropica has just announced that they will soon be releasing their new iPad app, where you will get to play the actual online version of Poptropica (with music) on iOS!

b5718-blimp

That’s pretty big. In addition to their coalition of apps on mobile devices (Tips and Tricks, Forgotten Islands), they finally add an app where you can play the actual game! That’s soo cool! 😀 Also, it’s nice to see that some of the SUIs (Time Tangled and 24 Carrot) will be pre-loaded. And according to the Creators, “Soon after, you’ll be able to download the bigger and better editions of more classic Islands — not to mention all-new Islands like Survival!”

What do you guys think of this development? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!

Hopefully thinking this proves I’m still alive,

~Shaggy 😀
