Pop Fan Artist Spotlights

Pop Fan Artist Spotlight: DeeJay-Rosietta

Hello, everyone!

It’s Lucky Joker here with a Pop Fan Artist Spotlight, and today, I’m thrilled to showcase the art of none other than the amazingly talented DeeJay-Rosietta! DeeJay draws in a celestial Poptropica-esque style that is truly otherworldly. Most of her art consists of original Pop characters and gifts, but also non-Poptropica related stuff too.

Check out this collection of her sensational artwork below:

See what I’m talking about?

If you’re wanting to see more, check out her DeviantArt gallerythere’s a lot more art like the fantastic pieces you just saw! Also, she is open to doing commissions is anyone if curious.

To wrap up this spotlight, DeeJay has left a message for her loyal and new supporters alike:

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. It means a lot when I see all the positive comments about how most of you guys enjoy viewing my artwork. I really appreciate it! I’ll try to draw more gifts and such for my friends and supporters so uh… stay tuned?

I hope you found this look into a Poptropica fan’s artwork enjoyable! Perhaps you’re even encouraged to make Poptropica fan art yourself. Snap a Zomberry selfie on the Worlds app!

Hello, everyone! It’s Lucky Joker here sharing some news from the Creators’ Blog and an update on Poptropica Worlds! Let’s start with the Worlds update.

As you may recall, last month, the Creators posted this two-frame GIF sneak peek:

zomberry

Well, the new update is exactly as it seemedit’s a Zombie Machine (branded by the Zomberries of course!). The new Zombie Machine can be found on Home Island on the Poptropica Worlds app only.

When you enter the machine, you’ll find yourself in a small room standing next to a purple lever. Once you pull it, you’ll need to grant Poptropica Worlds permission to access your camera. If you’re familiar with Snapchat filters, this is a lot like it.

Here, you can take photos of yourself with a Zomberry head over your face. There are three head options to choose from—one with short hair and a death stare, one with a brushed up hairstyle and a mouth opened wide enough to smell berry breath from the other side of the globe, and last but not least, one with a fabulous wispy hairdo and a slightly opened mouth. Here they are pictured below:

In addition, you get a zombie face mask added to your closet once you finish your picture taking. Here I am modeling it for you all:

Don’t I look gorgeous? No? Okay…moving on!

In less exciting news, Virus Hunter Island takes the spotlight in the newest Island Highlight post on the Creators’ Blog. Last week, it was Mocktropica Island — a little ironic, considering the circumstances and the island’s storyline: “The newest Island isn’t finished, the staff is nowhere to be found, and you can’t take two steps without running into a game-breaking bug.”

There’s a new Guess the Island trivia post as well. This week’s screenshot for the Guess the Island trivia shows a Mythology surfer character in a room with dark blue-greenish walls with gray machinery all around.

Guess the Island 2

Look familiar? I’ve already made my guess in the comments section under the Creators’ Blog post (and I 100% know I’m correct, hehe), but what do you think it is? Leave your guesses in the comments!

hehehe
hehehe…too easy Creators!

That’s all for now! What do you think of the new Zombie Machine on Worlds? If I’m going to be honest, it isn’t everything I was hoping for, but it is something of interest. Let’s just hope a new island will come out soon.

Thanks for reading as always, and talk to you in the next one.

Poptropica Portfolio

Poptropica Portfolio: Jonathan Pitcher

Hello, Poptropicans—it’s time to feature another Poptropica Portfolio!

This time around, we’ll be looking into the works of Jonathan Pitcher, who’s been working for StoryArc Media as an art director for over eight years. The work I’ll be highlighting here is a collection of his artwork for Poptropica from his Behance page, which also includes his non-Poptropica work.

Here are a couple of costume designs for the advertisement games on Poptropica which includes the Tigress costume from Kung Fu Panda and a few of the Zootopia characters, which are brilliant in my opinion. (Click on the images to enlarge them.)

Also, here is the elaborate apparatus of Steamworks Island which includes the multi-tool (two different versions shown here at the bottom left side), Sully’s key, the robot crab, and more! Check it out:

Steamworks

Lastly, here are some characters Pitcher has illustrated for Worlds that are recognizable from all of the islands released so far. Also, there’s this cool character low poly for Mya, and a red ugly/cute Dragon Follower from Pop Original. Awesome stuff!

Those of you who’ve played Survival Island: Episode 4 might also appreciate this item now that you know who probably inspired it…

I hope you enjoyed this insight into a Poptropica artist’s portfolio! If you did, you may also like the other popping portfolios we’ve featured here, so check those out too.

Thanks for reading! Talk you in the next one.

Pop Fan Artist Spotlights

Pop Fan Artist Spotlight: MissEligon

Hello, everyone!

It’s Lucky Joker here, showcasing the wonderful works of MissEligon in another Pop Fan Artist Spotlight. MissEligon has won two art-related Poppies Awards with her “Danganronpa the Island” fan fiction (winner of the Poppies’ Best Fan Fiction in 2017) and her traditional visual piece, “Explore, Collect, Complete” (winner of the Poppies’ Best Fan Art in 2016). She’s gotta be a great artist, right? You bet!

Check out this collection of some of her work below (click to enlarge images):

Incredible, wouldn’t you agree?

Eligon credits her significant other, Criaha (another fantastic artist in the community!), for helping her with the anatomy in her drawings.

Here are a couple of tips for improvement with anatomy, as well as not letting people ruin your fun, from MissEligon herself:

If you ever want to create a character who has pink hair, is dating a canon character, is a child of a canon character, or other characteristics that makes people call them “Mary-sues” [i.e. generic], ignore those people—you’re only having fun with your ships or headcanons.

Also, if you want to improve your art, try searching up some anatomy tutorials and take inspirations from the many sources you love. The entire point is to keep on having fun and not let people ruin your fun.

Interested in seeing more of her art? Check out her DeviantArt gallery, and prepare to be amazed! She has lots of canon art, but also a ton of her fan villains which are ridiculously cool.

In previous Pop Fan Artist Spotlights, I’ve featured the awesome art of BlazingAngel123, treesareredinautumn, and ANNE14TCO—be sure to check theirs out, too.

I hope you enjoyed this look into a Poptropica fan’s artwork! Perhaps you’re even encouraged to make Poptropica fan art yourself.  If you’ve created some of your own, we’d love for you to share it on our DeviantArt group gallery, We-Love-Poptropica.

An app-reciable odyssey and outfit of the week

Hello, everyone!

It’s Lucky Joker here popping in to announce, first of all, that Greek Sea Odyssey is now available on the Poptropica Worlds app!

What took the Creators so long? Well, whatever the reason may be, it’s better late than never, right? 😉 At least they finally mentioned the island on their blog.

If you need any help, check out our Greek Sea Odyssey Island Guide here on the PHB, complete with pics, trivia, and more!

Also, a new Outfit of the Week has been posted, and this week, dark/gothic filmmaker Tim Burton takes the center stage.

The outfit comes from Silver Fox of the Poptropica Fashion Wiki. It’s good to see the Creators are giving the deserved credit to the costume’s designer.

TimBurton_Wide

Along with the outfit itself, there’s also a little trivia at the bottom of the post that reads:

Who is the musician and composer who has composed music for all of Tim Burton’s films except for three?

I honestly have no clue. Do you know?

Anyway, that’s all for now folks! Thanks for reading, and talk to you in the next one.
