It’s Lucky Joker popping in to showcase the art of another Poptropica fan artist in another Pop Fan Artist Spotlight.ย The featured artist this week is ArtisticAsianBunny!

ArtisticAsianBunny (AAB) draws in a simple yet super adorableย style that is quite unique and distinctive to her work. Time and time again, you’ll see the Poptropica villains in most of her pieces. The funny thing is, they don’t appear scary or callous. On the contrary, they look quite huggable.

Lastly, AAB shared with me how she came up with her recognizable art style and also gave me insight on how other artists can find their own. Here it is:

When I first started off getting into this community as an fan artist, the first thing I do is learn how to draw a poptropican. So, I decided to go to the PHB blog and found the “How to draw a Poptropican” page. My first try at drawing them was… decent, at least. At time go on, I looked at art from some admirable people likeย DeeJay-Rosietta,ย happyclonetrooper, and lots more and took some of their recognizable art style features to put into my own.

Experiment with the current art style you have. If you have someone you admire with their art style, take the things you like about it and add it onto yours. It doesn’t have to be just one artist however, you can do this to multiple artists as well!

Your art style is like a jigsaw puzzle, You put small puzzle pieces together to another one until you have the big picture. Of course it will take time to complete it, but once you are finished… it will all be worth it.

As Slanted Fish pointed out earlier this month, the prices are insanely higher than what gold cards and costumes typically used to be. Although with the Daily Spin Wheel, I suppose it shouldn’t be too difficult to acquire the credits you need to buy what you wish.

Lastly, there’s a new advertisement on Home Island on Poptropica Original for DisneyยทPixar’s upcoming movie “Incredibles 2”.

Like almost every ad we’ve seen in the past couple of years, the game here is very similar, however, thereย isย a little twist this time around. Like all of the other ads, you have to run and jump over obstacles in your path with your mouse, but in addition, you also get to blast them by pressing your spacebar.

You have six lives which are represented by the movie’s logo. It’s pretty fast paced so you may have to give it a couple of tries before you win, but once you do, you’ll earn a plethora of prizes (and they’re pretty legit!) which include: an Invisibility Power Suit, andย Laser Eyes, Flaming, and Jack Jack Multiplyย power cards.

Snap a Zomberry selfie on the Worlds app!

Hello, everyone! It’s Lucky Joker here sharing some news from the Creators’ Blog and an update on Poptropica Worlds! Let’s start with the Worlds update.

As you may recall, last month, the Creators posted this two-frame GIF sneak peek:

Well, the new update is exactly as it seemedโ€”it’s a Zombie Machine (branded by the Zomberries of course!).ย The new Zombie Machine can be found on Home Island on the Poptropica Worlds app only.

When you enter the machine, you’ll find yourself in a small room standing next to a purple lever. Once you pull it, you’ll need to grant Poptropica Worlds permission to access your camera. If you’re familiar with Snapchat filters, this is a lot like it.

Here, you can take photos of yourself with a Zomberry head over your face. There are three headย options to choose fromโ€”one with short hair and a death stare, one with a brushed up hairstyle and a mouth opened wide enough to smell berry breath from the other side of the globe, and last but not least,ย one with a fabulous wispy hairdoย and a slightly opened mouth. Here they are pictured below:

In addition, you get a zombie face mask added to your closet once you finish your picture taking. Here I am modeling it for you all:

Don’t I look gorgeous? No? Okay…moving on!

In less exciting news, Virus Hunter Island takes the spotlight in the newest Island Highlight post on the Creators’ Blog. Last week, it was Mocktropica Island โ€” a little ironic, considering the circumstances and the island’s storyline: “The newest Island isn’t finished, the staff is nowhere to be found, and you can’t take two steps without running into a game-breaking bug.”

There’s a new Guess the Island trivia post as well. This week’s screenshot for the Guess the Island trivia shows a Mythology surfer character in a room with dark blue-greenish walls with gray machinery all around.

Poptropica Portfolio: Jonathan Pitcher

Hello, Poptropicansโ€”it’s time to feature another Poptropica Portfolio!

This time around, we’ll be looking into the works of Jonathan Pitcher,ย who’s been working for StoryArc Media as an art director for over eight years.ย The work I’ll be highlighting here is a collection of his artwork for Poptropica from hisย Behance page, which also includes his non-Poptropica work.

Here are a couple of costume designs for the advertisement games on Poptropica which includes the Tigress costume from Kung Fu Panda and a few of the Zootopia characters, which are brilliant in my opinion. (Click on the images to enlarge them.)

Also, here is the elaborate apparatus of Steamworks Islandย which includes the multi-tool (two different versions shown here at the bottom left side), Sully’s key, the robot crab, and more! Check it out:

Lastly, here are someย characters Pitcher has illustrated for Worlds that are recognizable from all of the islands released so far. Also, there’s this cool character low poly for Mya, and a red ugly/cute Dragon Follower from Pop Original. Awesome stuff!

Those of you who’ve played Survival Island: Episode 4 might also appreciate this item now that you know who probably inspired it…
