Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultimate iPad Expert here to bring you some BIG news about the Poptropica Wiki! If you’ve never heard of the wiki, here’s a little definition. The Poptropica Wiki is basically an online encyclopedia for anything Poptropica related that is editable by any user. The wiki, of which I am the head of, partnered with the PHB earlier this year, which is why I am here! 😀

Alright, now that you know a little about the Poptropica Wiki, here’s the news. Some of you may know about our mission to Officialize Poptropica Wiki or basically have the Creators endorse the wiki and help us out being sure that pages are all correct. You may also know that Poptropica Wiki is hosted on the site Wikia (similar to how the PHB is hosted on WordPress). Well, a few admins over on the wiki have talked about moving our site from Wikia to Gamepedia. There’s multiple reasons for this move, but the main reason is one involving the officialization of the wiki.

Gamepedia (like Wikia) hosts multiple wikis (online encyclopedias for a topic that are editable by anyone), but on Gamepedia the majority of the wikis hosted are made official wikis by the creators of the games these wikis are made about. This would mean we have a good chance of being officialized. In fact, a community manager at Gamepedia (in our accepted request to be moved to Gamepedia) mentioned that they’d be willing to help us in our quest for officialization!

Rawfish just announced that a new program is going to be available for the next few weeks: you can get your Poptropica character on a Poptropica island Main Street! The more island medallions, the more of a chance you get – so collect as many island completions as you can! There will be six avatars added to six different islands. Whether these will be old islands or new is unspecified.

Have you ever wanted your Poptropican to be featured on a Poptropica Island? Now’s your chance: introducing the Poptropica Hall of Fame!

We’re giving players the opportunity to have their avatar appear on Main Street on one of six Poptropica Islands. Simply play through any Island and earn that Island’s Medallion, and you’ll be entered to have your avatar chosen.

It’ll still count if you’ve completed the Island before, and there’s no limit to how many times you can replay. So the more Islands you complete, the more chances you have to be a star!

Each week, we’ll pick players at random from those who have earned Medallions. Those players will have their Poptropicans placed in one of six different quests. We’ll announce which players, and which Islands, after the first drawing.

This looks really exciting, and I’m looking forward to seeing who the first avatar will be!

Also, I see what he did with the “hot dog costume” comment – trying to draw attention away from his tasty crawfishyness. You’re not fooling anyone!

Hey Poptropicans! SR here.

There are some new scoop on Poptropica lately and without further ado, here we go! First of all, Jeff Heim, the composer of the Poptropica music we hear today, released a brand new demo reel not so long ago. It contains some new tracks and you can listen to it down below!

I have an extra challenge! Can you tell me where the tracks are being played? Try to guess as many as you can! It’s so amazing! Great job, Jeff Heim!

Moving along, Galactic Hot Dogs Island is finally added to the Poptropica along with new GHD items on the Store! I’ll try to add the photos soon but in the meantime, here’s the app logo!

Last but not the least, Twitter news! Here’s a couple of what we got this week:

Poptropica announced via Twitter that Timmy Failure Island is the next scheduled island after MotM Island. Also, there is no underground island on the schedule.

Around October this year, Poptropica is trying to let our own players from the computer version come to the mobile! They also stated that there will be more such as costumes and islands.

Last but never the least, Poptropica comics are also featured on Tumblr. How amazing!

We got an idea a while back, here in Poptropica Help offices – if we could get the Poptropica Wiki an official title (the Official Poptropica Wiki, think the Official Terraria Wiki), it would boost the visitor count, and therefore we would have more helpers and better content. Things like character names and graphic assets would be easily attainable.

And, let’s be honest: I can’t write a wiki by myself. Out of the hundreds of characters, items, and scenes, we’re going to need help. While we have a pretty large community, it’s going to take a whole lot more in order for this to happen.

So, basically, we asked Poptropica on Twitter if this could be a possibility – we also sent a proposal letter that basically stated the benefits. They’ve responded, but still no definitive answer.

Now, we’re asking you, the PHN community, to help us out. Tweet at @Poptropica the #OfficializePoptropicaWiki hashtag! Let’s convince the official game that we are worth an official title! 😀

We’re also thinking about merging with Gamepedia, and if you want to voice your opinion about that, you can check out the forum post. 🙂
