Daily Pop, Sneak Peeks

Do we get moar Coke?

Pop means soda, so we might get soda if this feature will be released in the near future… (JK but still XD)

What is Daily Pop?

I’m not sure, but it’s coming soon!

Oooh! What do you guys think Daily Pop will be? A quest every day? You get something free? Who knows? Let’s hope it’ll be exciting! Comment on what you think this will be!

Update: According to this web article that Neat Tornado shared with us, Poptropica Creator Jess Brallier has big plans for Poptropica:

Poptropica will launch eight books with Penguin in 2012, Mr Brallier says. Poptropica is launching personalised pages, enticing players with daily quizzes and comic strips, and pitching the site as a new platform for comic syndicators, which he says are “petrified” by newspapers’ decline.

That statement has since been removed from the web, but we think that’s what the Daily Pop is going to be about! …AND Poptropica will be writing books and publishing them, for realz! :O But there’s more…

Mr Kinney, who writes scripts for Poptropica with Mr Brallier’s son Max, is working on a Wimpy Kid island, and Mr Brallier says half of the islands on Poptropica may be branded in the next year.

โ€œI want to create the next Disney,โ€ says Jess Brallier. It is an outlandish statement, but in one area, the ebullient Boston-based author has beaten the Burbank entertainment empire.

Poptropica, the โ€œvirtual worldโ€ Mr Brallier launched in 2007, has passed Club Penguin, a Disney site, to become the largest US childrenโ€™s destination online, according to Quantcast.

Pretty intense! Wimpy Kid Island? The next Disney? o.O What do you think the future of Poptropica holds??

Young Bug models for the Poptropica Store

There are new outfits at the Poptropica Store, and it’s full of awesome gear! Here are just four of them, as posted by Hazmat Hermit on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog:

Blog Post Title: Do you want fries with that?
Description: Personally I’d never leave the safety of my Hazmat suit, but if you feel like a change in your wardrobe, look in the Poptropica Store for these new outfits.

Check out the Poptropica Store by clicking on the star symbol on the top-right corner of the gamescreen! You may also want to buy more credits in order to gain access to even more cool stuff.

What’s New Now:

  • Large Fry Outfit (See the leftmost figure in the above picture)
  • Soda Pop Outfit
  • Big Burger Outfit
  • Ice Cream Outfit
  • Pirate Captain Outfit (There is a boy’s version (blue; middle-right figure in the above picture) and a girl’s version (red; rightmost figure in the above picture))

And remember, if you want something from the Poptropica Store that is not available for your gender, just use the randomizing cheat (Ctrl + Shift + R) until it changes your gender! (Warning: This will also change your entire appearance.) You can then buy the costume you want and change back to your original gender.

Update! Soon after the release of all these tasty costumes mentioned above, even more outfits – and another item for their “Cool Stuff” section – has been added to the Store!

Vlad the Viking makes his first trip to the kingdom of Arturus… a.k.a. Astro-Knights Island. It’s not always safe there, as he was able to find out today. Read on for his tale:

A visit to Arturus was a chance of a lifetime, and I had been waiting MONTHS for this! It was going to be grand, taking a trip to the famed castle, and visiting the small museum dedicated to Mordred, the infamous scientist!

When I had finally taken my first steps into Arturus, a great rumble filled the air and the ground shook. It soon became apparent that a great battle had begun at the castle, and all I had was my trusty camera! I am no coward (well, not a coward all of the time), but I couldn’t fight these flying ships without a sturdy axe, and I just had my hair re-braided, and… well… I just couldn’t jump into the fray.

A laser blast exploded near my feet, and I was thrown back through the doorway of the nearby Crop Circle Inn. This was just getting to be too much! My freshly braided hair was still intact, but my favorite boots were practically ruined from the searing heat of the barrage!

With the sounds of battle still ringing outside, I decided to hunker down in safety with the other Poptropican’s that apparently had the same idea as myself. One Poptropican in particular caught my attention. His name is Young Bug, and he was a Ninja! I definitely didn’t feel cowardly knowing that even a Ninja equipped with nunchaku wasn’t too fond of entering battle against flying machines with laser guns!

Congratulations Young Bug, you have just been featured in Snapshot Sagas!

Be safe while rescuing Arturus from danger, and watch for me as you travel throughout Poptropica!

Fellow customers, if you are thinking of purchasing the ninja costume from the Poptropica Store, Young Bug definitely did a good job modelling it for us. Want the same clothes Mr. Bug is wearing? It’s only 75 credits! ๐Ÿ˜›

In other news: If you log in to Poptropica, you’ll notice a new ad on both sides of the screen. It’s advertising an original movie from Disney Channel called “Princess Protection Program” and it has the names “Selena Gomez” and “Demi Lovato” on the top. Under that isย their description, which saysย “Royalty meets reality.” On the other side it says “Premieres Friday, June 26 8p/7c” with a sign that says “Click here”. If you click on that, it brings you to this webpage:

Poptropica Credits, Stats, Store, Stuff and More!

A big WOW!!!

Poptropica Creator Shark Boy has just revealed a major update that will be coming soon. We don’t know a whole lot about it, but here’s what Shark Boy said on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog:

ย We’ve been working on a bunch of โ€œsuper-specialโ€ outfits, new abilities, and some other awesome stuff that we will be offering for Poptropica credits. You can earn FREE credits for each island you beat, or you can purchase more credits. Poptropica credits can be used to get some cool stuff from our store. Stay tuned, coming soon!

Looks cool. From SB’s post, we gather this info:

Stats
There will be a new interface called “Stats”. This will have/show:

  • Your character’s Poptropica name (such as Invisible Foot in the picture)
  • Aย picture of your character’s current look
  • Your battle ranking from playing multiplayer games in chat rooms
  • The number of “Poptropica Credits” you have, and a button to be able to purchase more of these credits.
  • An option to change your account’s password
  • Which island medallions you have
  • Your recent Poptropica activities – whether it’s just logging in or winning/losing a multiplayer game
  • A box telling you what’s happening around Poptropica: the example talks about Astro-Knights coming up!
  • Poptropica Store: you’ll get to spend your credits on cool rock star outfits and more!

Store
There’s also going to be a “Store” tab. So far, this is what we know:

  • Poptropica will be having a store for buying in-game items and powers. The “super-special” costumes they are working on can be bought here, as well as some new abilities (possibly Comic Kid’s new emotes from the many previous sneak peeks?) and other awesome stuff!
  • To shop at the store, you need “Poptropica Credits”, which are going to be Poptropica’s “money”, or their type of currency.
  • Some free credits can be gained from completing island quests.
  • You can purchase more credits, most likely with real-world money, such as American dollars.

Stuff
Lastly, there will be an interface titled “Stuff”. We don’t really know what this is, but maybe it’s a new type of inventory. Maybe all your equipment from Time Tangled, 24 Carrot or whatever island will be moved to this tab. (Just a guess.)

So now we know what the “super-special” outfits were for. At least we get credits for finishing an island too, so even if you aren’t allowed to buy stuff off the Internet, you’ll still get a chance to spend a few. Magic Monster suggests that maybe winning multiplayer games might also get you credits, because they mention winning and losing Soupwords and Balloons in the “Recent Activity” section. However, that could mean we could get credits just for logging in – which is a bit unlikely, but we don’t know for sure. What do you think?

Also, as Incredible Fish noted, you will soon be able to change your Poptropican’s password! So when this update comes, please don’t give away accounts on the Poptropica Talk page (or anywhere else on this site) to the public, or it may become out-of-date very quickly because there are people out there who like to mess up accounts. Other people won’t be able to use most of our Poptropica Talk accounts soon, so enjoy them while you can!

Snapshot Sagas
Vlad encounters a “visitor of mysterious origin” in this next episode of Snapshot Sagas! Check it out:

I had such a relaxing week! I was sipping some coconut milk at the Coconut Cafe and taking in some sun on the tropical Shark Tooth Island beach. My relaxing time didn’t last long however, because I ran into something out of this world on my latest trip to the Coconut Cafe! It was a Poptropican named Striped Hero, but I couldn’t be sure if he was really from Poptropica because I had never seen anything like him before! He was just as friendly as any other Poptropican that I have met, and I was able to take a photo with him, but his origins are still a great mystery to me!

Congratulations Striped Hero! You have been the latest visitor of mysterious origin featured on Snapshot Sagas!

Keep looking for me anytime you visit an island! You could be the next Poptropican (or mysterious visitor) featured on Snapshot Sagas!

Congratulations from the PHB, Striped Hero! And as Cheerful Claw said, we definitely won’t have to worry about them delaying Astro-Knights any longer because they’re acknowledging the fact that the cyborg-face is out. Take a look at The Mechanical Fever news post to learn more about this metallic mask!

Main Street’s Main Buildings

VladtheViking has posted a new YouTube video entitled “Astro Knights Stroll.” It’s our very first Astro-Knights video, and even though it only lasts 9 seconds and just shows Main Street, it’s awesome. Check it out:

Here’s a quick recap of the video:

Time | Occurance

  • 0:01 | Aย boy with short orange hair wearing a brown cap with a yellow feather, a yellow cape, brown clothes with a sword strapped to the belt walks past the Planetarium and sees the left part of the Crop Circle Inn. In between the 2 buildings is another lady, who has short dark brown hair and is wearing a blue squarish hat with blue clothes. They both look medieval-themed.
  • 0:02 | We get a good view of the front, lower part of the Crop Circle Inn. The label on the left is torn and tattered, the flowerbed on the ground has been trampled on, and the round window on the right is cracked. But other than that, the tan-and-brown housing center looks very pretty, especially with the purple door, clean windows, and tidy flowers on the windowsills.
  • 0:03 | Theย boy wearing brown continues on his peaceful stroll, and meets a nice lady standing outside of the inn.
  • 0:04 | We see that this lady has dark skin, a big round yellow striped hat, a dark yellow top and a light yellow robe-like bottom. Definitely medieval-themed!
  • 0:05 to 0:09 | The yellow-clad lady says to the boy, “Does anyone know if the king and queen are safe?”

How close is it till Astro Knights Island comes out? We don’t know but it must be soon because of this amazingly exciting video. Just makes you want to play it now right?

Tell us what you thought about the video and what ideas do you have on what you think will happen there?

There’s also another Snapshot Saga! Today Vlad features Speedy Club, a pink superhero with an amazing gift of speed! The Viking shares his experience with us on his blog:

Wanting to keep up to date on the happenings around Super Power Island, I took a quick trip to The Daily Paper. Inside, I met a very speedy Poptropican with a fitting name. Speedy Club and I had a quick chat over the latest news, and she spared a moment for me to take a picture before speeding off to continue her adventures in Poptropica!

Congratulations Speedy Club, you have just been featured in Snapshot Sagas!

Watch for me as you travel through the wonderful world of Poptropica, you may be featured in the next installment of Snapshot Sagas!

A big congratulations to Speedy Club from all at the PHB! Let’s hope we all get to visit Vlad the Viking sometime and get the chance to be in his pictures!

How can you have a Clear Sky and an Incredible Thunder in one day? Let’s find out!

Well, I can see in the background that the is the AK rocket, so that might improve the fact that your AK rocket is a prime methode of transportation in AK Island. I’m not saying that’s the only way of travel, but it sounds pretty cool!

Later guys!
