Hellos & Goodbyes

A Farewell Story of Me.

Wow, been a long time since I’ve posted on here..

Hey guys, hope you still remember me, as GA or as Hicoga.

Yeah, I’m leaving the blog, which probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering that I’ve been dormant on here for the past year.

Now don’t think this means I’m leaving, leaving. You can find me all the time on the PHB chat. ( xat.com/thephc ) I’m really not going anywhere I just think that it isn’t very fair for me to hog up one of the spots on here when I don’t even really care about poptropica anymore.

Although if Juyo wanted to make this the Poptropica/Minecraft Help Blog I’d be all for it. 😉

Now I don’t want this to be just like any old farewell post. I’m going to let you all join me while I reminisce about my time here at the PHB.

“Crowd Groans”

So sit down, grab some popcorn, and enjoy.

It all started at school in 5th grade when my friend Mark told me about this new game he’d found on the internet. So I thought I’d try it out and logged on to “Poptropica.com”. I made a character named Golden Axe and played around for a bit in this new virtual world. Poptropica had just opened up about 1 year prior.

I beat all the islands and soon became bored with the game after about a week. I started searching for hidden things around the islands and on the internet. Of course, I eventually found the Poptropica Help Blog. At the time I had no clue I would one day be part of the site.

My favorite author at the time was Codien and he held this contest in one of his posts to get a beard added to your poptropican. I entered the contest and actually ended up being selected as one of the winners. He said the beard would be added to your character about a week afterward and so I waited. A week went by, no beard. Two weeks, Three weeks, and then I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I eMailed Hijuyo about my conflict and she was very helpful and got me my coveted beard. After that, we kept eMailing back and forth and soon became friends.

Well, the rest is history.

Thank you to everyone on here and I hope this blog stays successful for years and years to come.

And by the way, going back to what I said earlier, I am starting up a Minecraft blog called “The Daily Block” Check it out by clicking the picture below.

Why be a “Creator” when you could be a “Celebrity”?

Told you I’d be back.

Crowd (whispers): Wow, that’s a surprise.

Hey! I heard that!

Anyway, Legendary Swords is out in two days! I probably won’t have enough time to play it all of the way through but from the title and uber spectacular logo, it looks to be one of the best islands I’ve seen in a while.

Also, there’s a new creators blog post talking about the new “Celebrity Clips” you guys have been noticing lately. Here’s what good ol’ Captain C. had to say.

Celebrity Clips

Have you visited the Daily Pop lately? If not, you’re missing out on the latest and greatest Celebrity Clips!

We’ve asked our friends, including some of the best authors and illustrators around, to contribute original stories, essays, and artwork, which you’ll only see on Poptropica. And there’s a new one every week!

To see Celebrity Clips and all the other great stuff in the Daily Pop, visit Poptropica and click on the Daily Pop icon in the upper right hand part of your screen.

Plus, as if there wasn’t allready enough awesomeness, 2 new Grim and Jake videos also release this week! Here’s a PHB exclusive sneak peak of what you’ might be seeing.
And yes, that’s a homemade creeper mask.

Hey guys, yep, it’s me.

Hey there PHB brethernen!

Now you’ve probably noticed that I’ve been horribly inactive on this site lately. This doesn’t mean I don’t love poptropica or you guys any less. Well, not that I love you guys… some of you are dudes.

*awkward silence*

Anyway… my absence has been due to two main reasons. One, high school. Going into high school really changed my life because I need to make sure I get good grades to ensure myself a good future. I’ve been spending more time studying and less time on the computer because I know it will pay off later.

That doesn’t mean however, that I haven’t had any free time at all. But most of that time has been spent on projects with my friends. None of them really like poptropica at all. On thing thats thrown a lot of my time out the window is Grim and Jake. Yah, you remember that thing me and my friend announced a while back that was hoplessly delayed again, and again, and again? Well it hasn’t been forgotten but it has undergone some major changes. Instead of being a webseries, it will now be a collection of comedic short films ranging anywhere from exploding computers to manic world olympics.

If you want to check it out you can always find us at youtube.com/grimandjake . I’ve told him that I want more time for poptropica stuff but he insists we get this done first, so we made a deal. If we get 30 subscribers or more by next Friday, I promise you fingers double crossed stamp my heart or whatever you crazy kids do to swear these days that I will do whatever in my power to post some poptropica stuff. Atleast once a week.

Well, I guess that’s all I really needed to say, just wanted make you sure you knew I was “still alive”.

Poptropican Video Intro

Hey guys! Do I have something cool to show you!

Me and my friend GoPackz worked together to make an awesome video for authors to use as intros to their Poptropica Help Blog videos. Anyway, here’s the intro we made in Cinema4D

It’s not super fancy or anything, but it’s cool.  If you’re an author you’re probably wondering, “How can I add this to the beginning of my videos?”

Well, all you have to do is download the WMV file from the website given here.

If you download and use the intro but you’re not a PHB author please give us credit and provide a link to our website.

Also, check out GoPackz youtube channel at youtube.com/gopackz He does great animation like this one and also features other artwork he’s done.

Plus check out my channel at youtube.com/thegoombaproductions 🙂
