Pop-over: Lackadaisy โ™ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿป

๐ŸŽต Time’s a-wastin’, friend, can’t spare a minute
(Chasin’ after that liquid gold)
Take a big inhale o’ those St. Lou’ spirits
(We’d rather get it than ever get old)
๐ŸŽต

Why hello everyone! Welcome to another Pop-over: a Poptropica crossover with another universe. This time, we’re going back to the Roaring Twenties (and no itโ€™s not Gatsby)!

The story of Lackadaisy takes place in the glorious town of St Louis, Missouri and is set during the 1920s. It tells the adventures of Rocky, Calvin โ€œFrecklesโ€, and Ivy Pepper as they try and help Mitzi May (Miss M) keep the Lackadaisy Speakeasy in business. Lackadaisy started as a webcomic and has a TV show currently in production.

Now letโ€™s meet the characters โ€” and their Poptropica counterparts! (You can dress like them using the Avatar Studio Glitch, aka ASG.)

Rocky is the main protagonist of Lackadaisy. He is the leader of the team to help Miss M keep the Lackadaisy Speakeasy in business. You can find Rocky playing his violin in the band for the speakeasy, creating free verse poems, and being chaotic, which usually annoys Ivy. Here is a fun clip of Rocky. You can use the ASG account: RockyASG to turn into this fun, mischievous feline on Poptropica.

Calvin โ€œFrecklesโ€ McMurray is Rockyโ€™s cousin. Even though Rocky can get a bit chaotic at times, Freckles is the complete opposite. Freckles is often shy and innocent but he can switch to chaotic really fast to protect the ones he cares about. You can use the ASG account FrecklesASG to turn into him.

Ivy Pepper is perky, confident, hotheaded, temperamental, romantic, only when Freckles is around, and often saucy to those who get the better of her. (credit: Lackadaisy Wiki) You can use the ASG account: IvyPepperASG to turn into her.

Mordecai Heller is the main antagonist of Lackadaisy. He is more reserved and doesnโ€™t like it when people mess up with his plans or acts in an informal manner. Heโ€™s also a triggerman for the Marigold gang after leaving the Lackadaisy speakeasy. You can use the ASG account: MordecaiASG to dress like him.

Mitzi May, formally known as Miss M in the show, is the current owner of the Lackadaisy Speakeasy. She is often in a depressed mood, since her husband, Atlas May, the founder of the Lackadaisy speakeasy, passed away. She cares for the people around her and isnโ€™t afraid to take in new recruits. There are rumors spreading around St. Louis that Miss M might have taken part in Atlasโ€™s death, but itโ€™s just a theory. You can use the ASG account: MitziMayASG to dress like her.

Finally, we have Viktor. Viktor is the bartender of the Lackadaisy Speakeasy. Besides his knowledge of liquor, he cares for the Lackadaisy Speakeasy as he wants to continue with what Atlas started. He did have a bad run-in Mordecai in the past, so we will see what lies in store for this ferocious feline. You can use the ASG account: ViktorASG to dress as him.

Thatโ€™s a wrap on the Lackadaisy Pop-over! While some indie cartoons have become hits, this new show is still trying to get their spotlight. So I encourage everyone to watch the pilot and tell me your thoughts! (Note: Since it takes place during the Prohibition era, the show does contain alcohol and gun violence.) It’s also got its own theme song now you can enjoy!

Inspired by these whimsical looks? Join in on the costume-making fun with our PHB 15th Halloween Costume Contest now until October 26! ๐ŸŽƒ

Well thatโ€™s enough of me rambling. Iโ€™ll see you all soon! ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸงŠ

PHB Pop-over Special: Saved by the Bell ๐Ÿ””

The main cast from left to right: Zack, Kelly, Jessie, Slater, Screech, Lisa

Howdy doodly Poptropicanos, and welcome to an all-new Pop-over special. It’s been some time since we’ve done one of these, so for those who need a refresherโ€”a Pop-over special is where we merge the world of Poptropica with another intellectual property. Basically, the name “Pop-over” is derived from the combination of “Poptropica” and “crossover.” Now, let’s get into it!

This pop-over centers on the iconic NBC sitcom, Saved by the Bell, which ran from 1989 to 1993. The show garnered immense popularity which led to the creation of two TV movies, two spin-off series, and a revival series in 2020. On top of all that, it was recognized in the past as one of the “20 Best Shows of All Time.” (Check out their banger of a theme song.)

Anyway, I crafted the outfits shown in the top graphic by assembling different garments and hairstyles from our wonderful Avatar Studio Gift (ASG) page. I then converted these finalized designs into my own ASGs, allowing you to replicate the looks with greater ease.

To access these designs, simply open the ASG Machine and input the username of the character you wish to clone, followed by your account username and password. (Please note that your login information will not be retained; it is solely utilized for the ASG process.) The usernames for the characters are provided below:

  • To look like the mischievous & impulsive Zack Morris, type the username ZackMorrisASG.
  • If you’re feeling like a loveable goofball, ScreechPowersASG‘s look might match your energy.
  • KellyKapowskiASG will transform your appearance to resemble that of the preppy, kind-hearted popular girl.
  • Stay too cool for school like Slater with ACSlaterASG‘s workout-ready apparel
  • Look no further than JessieSpanoASG if you’re aiming for a charming and modest look.
  • If you’re intrigued by the extravagant style of Bayside’s ultimate gossip queen, Lisa, then you should definitely try LisaTurtleASG.

Saved by the Bell revolves around a group of six teenagers as they journey through their high school years at the fictional Bayside High School, located in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California. While the show does delve into serious topics such as environmental issues and women’s rights from time to time, the primary emphasis remains on comedic and light-hearted content.

Hope you enjoyed this crossover of Saved by the Bell ร— Poptropica! Have you ever seen the show before? I must admit I’m a fan. I’ve watched every episode and both movies at least twice. While Saved by the Bell aired long before my time, it brings to mind several Disney Channel shows I enjoyed during my childhood, which, while somewhat campy, still possessed a certain depth and emotional resonance. I really feel like the show set the tone for kids & teen programming that was yet to come. What are your thoughts on Saved by the Bell?

Thanks for tuning in! I appreciate your guys’ time and look forward to chatting with you all again soon. Pop on! (P.S. Check out our Poptropica Look Book for more outfit inspo.)

Poptropica Characters as Pokรฉmon Trainers โ€” Part 2 ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ‘ป

Happy Pokรฉmon Day, everyone! Let’s celebrate by showing more Poptropica characters as Pokรฉmon trainers.

If you want to know what Dr. Hare, Amelia, and DJ Saturday Nite would be like in this little AU, check out our first post in this series. Let’s hope for no more shutdown scares. ๐Ÿคž

Ned Noodlehead wants to save the day!

Ned Noodlehead seems like your typical Super Nerd trainer, but he’s super in more ways than one. Ned owns a comic book shop where people read tales of great heroes like Gligarman and Accelguard. When trouble arises, he dons his super suit and fights crime with his super powerful team of Pokรฉmon! ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒญ

  • Palafin– Palafin is the quintessential superhero Pokรฉmon. This unassuming dolphin can transform into its powerful Hero Form in battle. Fun fact: it evolves at level 38, which is a nod to Superman’s debut comic from 1938!
  • Gliscor– The Pokรฉmon anime has an episode titled The Superhero Secret, which features Gliscor’s pre-evolution, Gligar, as a superhero’s sidekick. This line of caped crusaders is known for helping heroes, and its flight skills come in handy when catching flying fiends like Betty Jetty.
  • Magmortar– This Pokรฉmon may not be the prettiest, but it certainly is a powerful special attacker. Members of the Magmortar line are used by fellow Super Nerd trainers, and they could act as a nod to Pop’s in-universe comic book, Lava Boys.
  • Electrode– Here’s another Pokรฉmon frequently used by Super Nerd trainers, but this one specializes in super speed. Speeding Spike is shocked to finally meet his match!
  • Machamp-Being a super strong fighting type Pokรฉmon, Machamp is a great addition to any superhero team. Its strength and prowess are unmatched, giving Crusher a run for his money. It also helps trainers in day-to-day life, so Ned’s Machamp moves heavy stuff around the comic shop.
  • Dachsbun– This adorable doggo may not be a hot dog, but it is a wiener dog. Dachsbun loves greeting customers and napping behind the front desk. Don’t underestimate it; its fighting skills are nothing to scoff at.

Gentleman Harold Mews wants to discover Pokรฉmon!

Harold Mews is a reclusive billionaire who specializes in Pokรฉmon cryptozoology. Throughout the years, he traveled to many regions in search of legendary and mythical Pokรฉmon, and now he wants to inspire others to do the same. While his status is high, he is down to earth and cares for the Pokรฉmon he finds. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿš

  • Lapras– This Pokรฉmon is inspired by one of the most famous cryptids in the world, the Loch Ness Monster. Since Nessie is prominent in Cryptids Island, it makes sense for Mews to have Lapras on his team.
  • Abomasnow– While there is no Bigfoot Pokรฉmon as of now, Abomasnow is a close fit since it’s based on the Abominable Snowman aka the Yeti. Plus, the defunct Mews Foundation website mentioned that Mews pursued cryptozoology after discovering Yeti tracks on Mount Everest.
  • Malamar– This strange cephalopod is a nod to Archie the Giant Squid, whose existence inspired Mews to offer a reward for whoever discovered irrefutable proof that other cryptids exist.
  • Sableye– Although they’re not featured in Cryptids Island, the aliens spotted in the Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter inspired this Pokรฉmon. Aliens can be considered cryptids, right? Also, Sableye’s gemstone diet is easily supported by Mews’ incredible wealth.
  • Persian-This fierce feline is a beloved pet of upper-class trainers. Persian and its pre-evolution, Meowth, know the move Pay Day, which rewards trainers with extra money when winning battles.
  • Mew– In the wonderful world of Pokรฉmon, Mew can be considered a cryptid in of itself. It is an ancient elusive creature sought out by many explorers. Of course, it shares a similar name with Mr. Mews himself.

Madame Fiona wants to look for someone!

A rickety mansion by the sea harbors many old secrets. The silhouette of a woman appears at the top window and looks out at the sea, searching for something or someone. Few trainers dare to enter this mansion, fearing the Pokรฉmon that take residence as well as the mysterious woman at the window. ๐Ÿ‘ป๐ŸŽป

  • Kricketune– The Cricket Pokรฉmon is built like a violin and known for its famous musical cry. Its melodies soothe Fiona’s restless soul and creep out unsuspecting passersby.
  • Luvdisc-It is said that meeting this heart-shaped Pokรฉmon promises couples loving, never-ending relationships. Fiona and Valiant likely would have encountered a school of Luvdisc near their seaside town long ago. Although death did them part, their love for each other never died.
  • Gothitelle– Fiona and Gothitelle share their love of black dresses and big bows. Fitting the town’s spooky nature, Gothitelle can see lifespans and cries upon learning when its trainer dies. Long after Fiona’s death, it senses her presence and stays in the mansion.
  • Banette– Old dolls line the shelves of Fiona’s house, so it not unlikely that some of them would become Banettes. They guard the mansion’s dark basement, keeping curious trainers on their toes.
  • Chandelure– After escaping the basement, trainers enter the mansion’s living room and contend with a grand Chandelure. Its life-draining flames pose a great risk to intruders.
  • Roselia (Shiny๐ŸŒŸ)– Unlike normal Roselia, Shiny Roselia has a yellowed body and dark petals. It looks as if it had died before reaching its full potential. Since roses are heavily associated with Fiona, this Pokรฉmon seemed fitting.

I hope you all liked this new installment of “Poptropica Characters as Pokรฉmon Trainers”! What characters would you like to see next? Leave a comment, and don’t forget to vote in the Favorite Poptropica Island Tournament semifinals! The poll closes this Thursday @ 11:59 p.m. EST.

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Pop-over: Percy Jackson ๐Ÿ”ฑ

This is a guest post by Silver Shell. Enjoy!

Hello, Poptropicans! It’s Silver Shell again.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, so I decided to make a Pop-over (Poptropica crossover) of the three main characters: Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. They’ll be based on how they look in the movies, not the books.

First, here’s Percy Jackson. Get the hair, shirt, and pants from New You (Home Island on the Poptropica app), use any type of PopGum for the mouth, and don the sword, belt, and collared armor top from the Templar Knight costume. (Try glitching for specific parts!)

Next is Annabeth Chase. For her top, you can use the Costumizer on the lady eating on top of the convention center in PoptropiCon: Ep. 1. Snag the bow and quiver from the Robin Hood costume, the pants from the Pumpkin Smash costume, and hair from the Winter Girl 3 along with bangs from the Prom Queen costume.

Last but not least, here’s Grover Underwood. Get his horns and hair from the satyr in Mythology Island, jacket from the Fall Fashion 2 costume, shirt from the Novice Adventurer Outfit (from the Home Island quest), and pants from New You (on the app).

And that’s that! Hope you liked my Pop-over on Percy Jackson.

Pop-over: Ghost Rider

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Giant Dragon. Enjoy!

Hello Poptropicans, and happy belated Halloween!

Did you enjoy my “Ghost Rider” costume in the PHB’s Halloween Costume Contest? It won an honorable mention! For this post, I’m going to share how you can put this outfit together. Let us “pop” into it.

For those who don’t know, the Ghost Rider is a Marvel comic book superhero also adapted into movies. Wikipedia’s description of the character is “a human who can transform into a skeletal superhuman wreathed in ethereal flame and given supernatural powers.”

Now, putting the costume together is as easy as nibbling cheese! Here are the items you will need (the numbers are their codes in Card Collector, a glitching tool for getting all sorts of stuff):

  • Rock Star outfit (3006)
  • Torch Power (3050)
  • Skeleton Power or any outfit or ASG with a skull on it (3006)
  • Rumplestiltskin outfit (if you donโ€™t have the outfit, since it’s members-only, use the ASG Machine)

Before you start, remove any handheld item or anything else (including backpack and hair wigs). This is how you’ll assemble the outfit:

  1. Use the Skeleton Power and remove the ribs from it.
  2. Put on the Rumplestiltskin shirt.
  3. Activate Torch Power!

Add whatever pants you like, and there you go. Doesnโ€™t it look completely spooky?

Keep your eyes popped for my future posts! Dragon out.
