Red Dragon Island, Sneak Peeks

Year of the Monkeying-Around with Dragons and Villains!

Kung hei fat choi, Poptropicans! 🎉

It’s the Year of the Monkey for those of you celebrating the Lunar New Year, and there’s a new update on the Creators’ Blog honoring the occasion. 🙈🐒

Also, we get a sneak peek of a monkey that’s supposed to be part of an upcoming island. (Past sneak peeks indicate this island could be related to the Poptropica comics or the upcoming tutorial update!)

Captain Crawfish also added in his post: “Plus, if you know where there’s a misplaced Chinese dragon on another Poptropica Island, we don’t want to hear about it anymore.”

Sounds like this pirate is salty. XD

chinese dragon

As someone who’s Chinese, I found the comment hilarious.

In case you’re not laughing yet, there’s a distinctly Chinese dragon dance happening on a Japanese island (Red Dragon, which takes place in ancient Japan) on Poptropica and it sounds like they’ve been getting quite a bit of flack for mixing it up. 😛

(Plus, thanks to Thinknoodles videos for being a source for grabbing quick snapshots!)

Chinese New Year isn’t the only thing happening – Valentine’s Day is coming up, and rather than taking it as a time to feel sad at a lack of significant other, here at the PHB we’d like to deliver you some villainous Poptropica Valentine’s cards! These were created by Poptropicans from our deviantArt community, We-Love-Poptropica.

Octavian’s is made by JennLikesPie, Black Widow’s is by Slippery Raptor, and salty old Captain Crawfish’s is by Spotted Dragon. Feel the love! ❤

Also, if you’d like to have your name in the upcoming PHB Valentine’s Special, be sure to check out Blake’s post on the subject and leave a comment with your favorite PHB ship (no later than Wednesday, and try not to go overboard 😉 ). Stay popping, Poptropicans!

Big Nate Island, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Island, Great Pumpkin Island, Membership, Nabooti Island, Red Dragon Island, Wimpy Boardwalk Island, Wimpy Wonderland Island

Seven Islands become members only!

Okay… so I got some bad news, guys. Remember the whole Nabooti demo thing and how Nabooti Island is only for members now? Well, more islands have joined the members only club.

7reasons

There may be over 40 islands, but now 7 of those islands are exclusive for members. The seven islands are all sponsored islands (islands that are based on a franchise/not completely original), with the exception of the more recent Galactic Hot Dogs Island, which isn’t on the list:

Non-members can still play a demo of each island, but nothing beyond that. With Timmy Failure Island coming up, we have to wonder if that will eventually be locked to members only as well, since it’s also a sponsored island.

Yes, what we have feared is true. I just hope Poptropica won’t become completely membership oriented. 😦 Let us know in the comments what you think!

Red Dragon Island

Creators’ Favorites

So, for some reason, the Creators thought that we would like to know what islands are their favorites.  And they’re starting with Captain Crawfish.

You might think that his favorite island would be Skullduggery.  After all, he’s the star villain in it.  But I guess he likes being the hero better than being the bad guy.

Creators’ favorite Islands: Captain Crawfish’s pick

Over the next week, we’ll be sharing the Poptropica creators’ picks for their favorite Islands. Today: Captain Crawfish.

My favorite is Red Dragon Island. I love the art for old Japan, and I especially like all the cool ninja powers you learn to use near the end. You wouldn’t expect an old sea salt with a peg leg could master the grappling hook, but I did it!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

A pirate in Japan…doesn’t quite fit…  Well, what can I say?  It’s Poptropica, anything can happen.

Red Dragon Island

Never Say No to a Panda

Otherwise, the panda’ll destroy stuff. Or at least that’s what I know from Egyptian commercials. As a girl on the east coast of the US, don’t judge me for not knowing anything about pandas besides what I see in the media.

Is there ever a bad time for pandas?

A little over a year ago, we released an Island in cooperation with our friends at Magic Tree House. It’s called Red Dragon Island, and if you haven’t played it, you’re missing out on a thrilling adventure through old Japan with Jack and Annie, the heroes of the Magic Tree House series.(Oh, and you also get to master a bunch of awesome ninja skills like climbing up walls and using a grappling hook.)

Whether you’ve been through Red Dragon Island before or not, now’s a great time to head back. Not just because it’s a great adventure, but because the Magic Tree House store has been updated with the latest, greatest books from the series. Head on over to Poptropica and visit Red Dragon Island to get the scoop on A Perfect Time for Pandas, and its accompanying Fact Tracker, Pandas and Other Endangered Species.

And then find the ninja master and get to work!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

Bossy, aren’t you, Captain Crawfish, there? Well, how about you take this Panda cheese and it’ll make you understand.

😐 I’d take it if I were you. Now. Please. D:

Anyways, um… yeah… books… and stuff… I swear that panda is freaking me out… o.o *grabs three cartons of Panda cheese* I gotta go, BT out!

*runs away, screaming “DON’T DESTROY ANYTHING!!”*

Crud, too late. o,o

Red Dragon Island

New books

Greetings, everyone! It’s EP here with the latest scoop from the PCB. This new post hasn’t been done in a day or two so I guess I’ll try and keep this blog updated. Here we go.

I bet you’re all familiar with the Magic Treehouse themed Red Dragon Island. Well on the main street there you’ll find a Magic Treehouse Store! Yep, one click on one of those virtual books inside the store will bring you to an information page. There’s information on the books on the page as well as a “Buy Now” button.

Well according to the new PCB post, they added two new books to the virtual store. The two are Dogs in The Dead of Night and Dog Heroes. Obviously these books have to do with dogs in Jack and Annie’s new adventures.

Dogs in The Dead of Night apparently has to do with Jack and Annie in the Swiss Alps where they meet monks. They apparently also train a wild young dog named “Barry” and Barry leads them to some mysterious flower that has to do with the story.

Dog Heroes has to do more with the actual facts in Jack and Annie’s stories and has more of an educational purpose. There’s a red mark on the book that says “Fact Tracker”. It mainly gives interesting facts like “Who were the most famous war dog heroes?” or “What breed makes good service dogs?”.

You can click the Buy Now button, and you’ll be redirected to the Amazon.com page to buy any of the books featured in then store.
