Black Flags flag, clothing characters, Beta bugs fixed

This new Daily Pop sneak peek might be another hint that Poptropolis Games Island is returning! Check out that glorious Black Flags tribe flag. (Of course, not as cool as the Flying Squid tribe!)

Plant your flag – …which is kind of hard to do when there’s no solid ground around.

Also, when you’re buying Poptropica clothing from the Shop, you can now select from some of these popular Poptropica characters (funny how they’re all villains). Sadly, they don’t come with their cool poses (or carrots in Dr. Hare’s case).

If that’s not enough, check out ourย Friend Finderย page for more awesome usernames! You could even get a shirt of a Poptropican Jesus Christ, complete with costume and custom name, by entering the userย thejesus1. Just putting that idea out there.

The Creators have been busy making fixes to 24 Carrot BETA Carrotene Island, thanks to all the members who beta-tested and gave feedback. There areย more details in their post, and don’t worry, they even said they’d be “implementing the classic movement cursor”! So that probably means no cumbersome common room cursor – sounds like everyone got what they wanted.

Lastly, the PHB has a new slogan on the header! It says “pop inside the PHB – we’re your Poptropica key.” Simple, still includes the obligatory “pop” pun, and tells who we are. Hope you like it.

Virus Hunter Island

Journey to the center of Carl

Hey there!

This week has given us some new looks at Virus Hunter Island and the currently unnamed battle bot island (possibly Mocktropica Island).ย First off we got a look at a marvelous hero preparing to save Poptropica from the evil lurking within (literally).

Later, we were able to confirm that this was in fact a screen shot from… wait for it… the trailer for Virus Hunter which you can view below.

At the end we get a statement that Poptropica is “now in sound” which seems to confirm that not only this island will be released in sound, but that all of the previous islands can be looking for a full sound makeover in the possibly not so distant future.

SOUNS

The Daily Pop has also offered up some previews at what we can expect from this upcoming battle bot adventure.

BattleBot
Fastball – Watch out, because this bot is coming at you.
Arena
Rock of Ages- When bad guys come calling, you are the quarry.

The first preview appears to show a bot in action and the second appears to showย  something that could possibly be a battle arena surrounded by on watching battle bots. I am getting very, very excited about how these battle bots are going to fit into a story. Is it just me, or are these journeys inside of bodies and giant battling robots reminding you of Jimmy Neutron too?

24 Carrot Island

Beta Testers at your service, Creators!

*salutes*

Thatโ€™s right, members! BETA Carrotene Island is now available for Poptropica Members to test and enjoy! (If you need a reminder or help on this island, check out the PHB’sย 24 Carrot Island Guide!)

24 Carrot BETA Carrotene Island is now available!

Let the testing begin! 24 Carrot BETA Carrotene Island is now available to Poptropica Members. This is your chance to get a sneak preview of the next generation of Poptropica, while also helping us make important improvements.

To play 24 Carrot BETA Carrotene Island, grab the Gold Card from the Poptropica Store (pictured above). Or just click on the slide on your Welcome Back page. The beta test is for Poptropica Members only, so if youโ€™re not a Member, find out how to become a Member today!

Remember, although there are a lot of new features to try out, like a soundtrack and a bigger screen, the beta is still missing some things youโ€™re used to, like the costumizer and the ability to save your game. Fear not, those features will be returning!

Also, the cursor is not staying that way.

So head on over to Poptropica to play 24 Carrot BETA Carrotene Island and check out all the great new features weโ€™ve got coming up!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

So I got the chance to play BETA Carrotene, and let me tell you- it was rather different. First of all, I am in love with the music and the mood it sets (my favorites tracksย are the Factory Exterior and Dystopia Main Street tracks). The sound effects are cool, when they’re not annoying (ahem, the mouse in the sewage pipes).

However, while playing BETA, I noticed that the maneuvering of my character as compared to the background is a little off. I found myself shifting different directions a couple of times and at times I found my character frozen (especially after playing the minigame where you crash Dr. Hare’s rabbot into the asteroids, but he unfroze after a period of ime), but these glitches can be fixed later. After all, it ISย a beta test, so it isn’t going to be perfect. Well, the good news is that from my perspective, the island is, luckily, playable. Glitchy, but playable.

Also, is it me, or does it look creepy when the characters’ eyes go all like this when they talk?:

Also, it seems that the Creators caught our annoyance with the common room cursor and stated “Also, the cursor is not staying that way,” in its own separate paragraph. Phew, that’s a relief.

What do you guys think?

BT out!

*Everybody who has supported the project on LEGO CUUSOO, that is. So if you haven’t done that yet, and you’ve passed your 13th birthday or know someone who already has,ย Mr. Bucktooth Bunny Dr. Hare would like your support!

There’s a video ad on Main Streets for a book by James Patterson called Middle School: How I Survived Bullies, Broccoli, Snake Hill. After watching the video, you’ll get a Middle School: Rafe Rescue Copter for a prize! The helicopter will just fly by on your screen when you activate it, like so:

…maybe not the best way to carry a sick person. At least it didn’t drop him on my head!

Could this new Daily Pop sneak peek be hinting at the return of Poptropolis Games Island? Samwow5 thinks so. It certainly does have that emerge-from-underwater and giant-statue-block feel to it!

Salvage Operation – There are a lot of treasures at the bottom of the sea.

What’s your take? Return of Poptropolis, maybe with some new additions, or just a decapitated head taking a little bubble bath in the sea? I mean, there are a couple spots on there that could use a bit of cleaning…

Dial B for Bunny

Hey, I’m back! With projects, finals, and even summer assignments for high-school, I have been really busy and unable to post. Do not fear! Now that summer is underway I will have more time to post! (Seems like this is becoming a common theme, doesn’t it?)

CarrotSound
Or should it be Dial B for Beta?

Now that the introduction is out of the way, we have our first official look inside the new 24 Carrot Island: Beta Carrotene and we get an explanation of what it includes (other than  a red-orange pigment found in plants and fruits, especially carrots and colorful vegetables ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). We will be able to play with  features previously previewed such as the full screen, music and sound effects, and controversial new “navigation system” that appears to be the same as what is used in the common rooms. We do have to remember that since it is just in Beta that there will be features missing such as saving your game or using the customizer, but don’t fret, because these will be added back in later. Are you bouncing off the walls about this update, because I definitely am!

Dial M for Monkey B for Bunny

We also have our first look at the newest LEGO CUUSOO project prize. Our next code will give us the power to place these bunny ears on who ever we want! But wait, what would happen if we tried to put them on Dr. Hare? These styling bunny ears can be yours in under 100 more supporters, so if you haven’t yet, make sure to support the project!

You have to admit, you want to put some bunny ears on every one on 24 Carrot too.
