What’s popping, Poptropicans? Blake here, with another piece of fresh-popped Poptropica news. (Seriously, I can’t stop with the puns! HELP!)

So anyway, I was doing my usual round of the island’s common rooms, and found out that (SURPRISE!) ~~I was America’s next top model!~~ Not really. Anyway, I found out that Cosmoe, the main character in the new Funbrain graphic novel series Galactic Hot Dogs (some of you may read it, I personally don’t, for fear of another Spider-Man 3) is in some of the common rooms (such as Vampire’s Curse). As you can see, he’s got a flawless 5-star battle ranking, plus you can add him as a friend! He shows up on your friends list with a green star instead of a yellow one (to prove he’s ~special~), and all of his images are stills from GHD telling you about Cosmoe.

You can also customize him (but not his Goober Sword), and that’s pretty much it! First time Poptropica has placed a character in a common room as an ad. (EDIT: His username is npc:cosmoe, so you can add him to your friends that way too! Thanks to raqk for the tip!)

Blake’s rant about the quality of his script went on for another two hours before he was shot down by 5 tranquilizer darts. Oh look, a new Smurfs 2 ad. What a coincidence. *pulls out noisemaker, blows* Time for my first piece of news!

The Smurfs have returned to Poptropica! On the main street of Poptropolis Games, you can find The Smurfs 2 ad, with a new questline since the movie just came out on DVD.

After you do the questline, popping bubbles with Smurfs in them to win, you get two prizes: a costume (Brainy for boys, Smurfette for girls) and Gargamel’s Wand, which allows you to, well, hold it and look cool. Honestly, after holding this item, I felt all like…

I then proceeded to parade around the island, doing my best Gargamel impressions and showing off. I don’t know how I can survive for 5 seconds without showing off.

As for Mocktropica, the first members-only item is now available in the Store, and it’s a Glitch Power! Activate it to fill the screen with big blocks of pixels. Poptropolis Games won’t be out of early access until this Thursday, December 5th, but until then, CapriSun’s Roarin’ Waters is here to deliver two athletic challenges in a Kids vs. Pros Playground Throwdown! You can find this ad on Main Streets such as the one on Virus Hunter Island.

To your right is Gabby Douglas the gymnast, who you must match in three rounds consisting of a flip, double flip, then a triple flip. All you have to do is watch her tricks, then when it’s your turn, click when the red button tells you to, and you’ll do a flip! The prizes are the Super Flip Power and Gymnast Outfit.

To your left is WWE wrestler John Cena, who will challenge you to tug-of-war. Just click as fast as you can to pull the rope closer to your side. When you win, you’ll get the Flex Power and In-Ring Gear.

In other news, PHB reader Silver Wolf mentioned to us that the Mocktropica Island desktop wallpaper contains a to-do list in the corner that includes “Balloon Boy Rescue Island”!

Pranksgiving, Wimpy Kid Hard Luck, Steven Universe, and Galactic Hot Dogs ads

Main Streets sure are full this week! An ad game for Pranksgiving (a Disney XD series) can be found on Night Watch Island. You’ll have to prank both kids (Bradley and Jake) by being fast enough to press the button corresponding to the spot they’re standing on, which will trigger a prank.

There’ll be two rounds, a practice one and then the real one. You can come back every week for a new prize, with the current prize being a Zombie Turkey costume (press spacebar to scare).

An ad for the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book (#8), Hard Luck, can be found on Early Poptropica. Talk to Greg and you’ll be brought to a carnival, where you can play five games to get your fortune told.

On the Wheel of Misfortune, click to make it stop spinning. You’ll be given a random Job fortune – I got ‘nervous gardener’. In Psychic Darts, just click to aim. My result: ‘live in a bug-infested apartment’. At Balloons of Chance, just click on random balloons for your Pet fortune – mine was ‘gigantic hamster’. At the Peg Maze Daze, click on the ball at the top. My vehicle fortune was ‘sporty go-cart’. Finally, click on the Mystic Crystal Ball twice to be told your Love – I got ‘smart flower-arranger’. Afterwards, you’ll receive the 8-Ball Costume and Raining 8-Balls! power.

There’s also an ad game for Steven Universe (a new Cartoon Network series), which I found on Zomberry Island. You have 60 seconds to run all the way to the left where the donut store is and click on the door to get the cat cookies. After that, you’ll have five lives (indicated by the cookies on the lower left) to get back to the beginning without being chomped by the green creatures too many times.

When you win, you’ll be awarded the Steven Costume (with flashing star eyes!) and Crystal Gems Power (which flashes various characters from the show onscreen).
