Poptanium stashes and TombQuest prizes!

Hey guys! Slip here.

Update:ย Some playersย have reported that they land in a spot where Brave Seagull’s Poptanium is inaccessible to them. Fear not, there is another “savings account” Realm by Invisible Drummer over at the codeย c2tp6! This Poptanium is conveniently stored all in one location.ย (thanks, Eb!)

Today, we have a brand new Remarkable Realm! We had quite a lot of realms back then but today’s a special one! It is made by Brave Seagull and it’s a Poptanium stash! Boy, that’s a lot of Poptanium!

First, you can visit the realm by entering the code: 9thzx. Now, you can grab as much as many Poptanium bars as you can! This is what the realm looks like:

braveseagull

The first scene has 254 (in my count) Poptanium bars! If you collect them all, (please don’t be greedy) you can get 2,540 Poptanium! (It’s kinda weird that it says ‘100’ but it only gives 10.) Awesome, right? There’s more!

The realm has Poptanium bars everywhereโ€” on the roof, underground, on the fireplace and even the garden! Not only that, if you go to the scene on the left, you will spot a whale with more Poptanium bars in and on it! If you manage to collect them all, you will receive 430 Poptanium! There’s more on the right side. ๐Ÿ˜›

braveseagull2

Now, on the right side, there are more Poptanium bars! On a crystal castle, there are 46 Poptanium bars which gives you 460 Poptanium! Amazing! Now, let’s head on to the far right side.

braveseagull3

For the next scene, there are two crystal buildings with more Poptanium! The first buiding contains 45 bars which gives 450 Poptaniumย and the second building has 30 bars which gives 300 Poptanium. In total, you can get 750 Poptanium!

braveseagull4

For the last scene, it has a crystal building shaped like a letter “P” and has more Poptanium bars! Here, you can collect 45 bars which is equivalent to 450โ€” now, you have a lot of Poptanium to build your own stash with! ๐Ÿ™‚

braveseagull5

Overall, you will have 4,630 Poptanium! Wow, how much did Brave Seagull spend doing all of these? ย Now, you can make your own realm creation or make a stash of your own! This realm deserves a big thumbs up. ๐Ÿ™‚ Plus, you can always grab the Poptanium again by going to a different Realm and then coming back to this one โ€“ no more having to dig for your own Poptanium!

Make sure to check out Captain Crawfish’s commentary in this video! ๐Ÿ™‚

โ€”โ€”

On the other hand, there’s new sur-prizes waiting for you when you log-in to Poptropica! They’re from TombQuest and we’re going to discuss the prizes one by one. ๐Ÿ™‚

The first prize is the Mummy Follower. As what the name implies, a Mummy will follow you everywhere you go. (Extra tip: You can costumize the Mummy’s head if you want to.)

The last and second prize is the Scorpion Swarm. When you use the card, your player wears the hat and when you press the spacebar, a swarm of scorpions will run across the screen. ๐Ÿ™‚

And that’s all of the updates today! Have you received your Total costume yet? If not, better get yours already before it goes! ๐Ÿ™‚

Blast from the Past

Things Poptropica Should Bring Back

PDbringback

Hey guys! Slippery here.

I have a new discussion! Let’s start?

Poptropica has brought a lot of new features and upgrades over the years but as time goes by, some of them are left forgotten and abandoned. Thatโ€™s the topic I want to talk about: things that Poptropica should bring back.

treasurehunt

Treasureย Hunts

Back in 2008, in honor of the release of Spy Island and Nabooti Island, Poptropica hid bonus items around Poptropica and if youโ€™re lucky to find these items, youโ€™ll receive free stuff! I just hope that they would bring these hunts back in the game.

Countdowns

Back in the old days, Poptropica did countdowns before island releases. The most recent countdown was made in September 2014 (for Poptropica Land). I really appreciate countdowns because I will know the time when Poptropica will update. They deserve to be brought back, too.

Pre-Island Quests/Previews

One thing I really enjoyed in playing Poptropica back then was the pre-island quests. Back in 2010, Poptropica started these previews with the Nessie mini-game for Cryptids Island and was continued until the Nano-Combat Training for Virus Hunter Island. For me, the best pre-island preview was the Spook Central and Money Ladder. There are some of these that are still found in game: Shrink Shot and Prepare for Impact. These deserve to be brought back because itโ€™s fun and gives away rare and great prizes to all.

Thoughts on Hub Island, new features & more vents!

Yellow!ย Slip here!

We’ll have a short review of the recent release of Tutorial / Hub / Home Island. ๐Ÿ™‚

thoughtsontutorial

First of all, I’m really surprised with the update. The Creators never had any sneak peek or tweet about it and out of the blue, *poof* Hub/Tutorial/Home Island is now released online! ๐Ÿ˜›

Second, this island is really great for beginners. The last time I remember logging in to Poptropica for the first time, I was lost; not knowing what to do. But if you’re a new player, you get to learn the basic steps of Poptropica through the Tutorial Island. The pilot even asks you if you’re a first-timer or an old pro! More to that, you’ll get to learn more about Poptropicaโ€” Poptropica Realms, multiverses and more. As what old people would say, “The kids today are so lucky! Not like us back in the days.” And there starts a long, boring flashback story.

Also, I’m really sorry for the people who just bought the Colorizer item card, which is now useless thanks to the new update (although people have reported that the new Colorizer’s effects wear off, so perhaps not). On the bright side, you can collect your 150 credits by completing Tutorial, Hub, Home,ย or whatever the island’s name is! (The official name is Hub Island, according to aย Creator, Chris Barney, when asked by HPuterpop. But it says Tutorial on the medallion and Home on the map!)

Last but not the least, my only concern is the Arcade and the Shop in which I understand since Poptropica would take some time to make it like the one in the Poptropica app. The Arcade would look like a real arcade if it doesn’t redirect to the Pathfinders’ tribe room and the Shop would be better like the one in the app instead of redirecting to the Poptropica Store.

Overall, it’s a really great update I never expected. Kudos to the Poptropica Creators!

ย ย โ€”โ€”

Next update, you may have noticed some new features on SUIs while going from scene to scene. Poptropica has been changing the text on some ofย the pointers whenย you’re entering places, moving from scenes and riding the blimp. For example, instead of “go left” or “go right”, it says “exit”; instead of “travel”, it says “map”, and so on. (Thanks toย R, The Black Bird for the tip and the picture!)

ย ย โ€”โ€”

Last but not the least, there has been a couple of Daily Pop Sneak Peeks with a common denominator and it’sย a Poptropica cliche โ€” vents. They seem to be for the Pelican Rock / Prison Island but we never know,ย maybe these sneak peeks are for Timmy Failure Island.

By the way, we recently addedย two brand new pages here onย the PHBย โ€” theย Hubย Island Guideย and the Fortune Cookie Quotes page!

And that’s all of the updates! Have you received your Total Costume already?

Make sure to leave your thoughts in the comments down below!

Prisons, prizes, Timmy Failure videos and more surprises!

Hey guys! Slip here.

The Daily-Pop In may giveย its last prize to all tomorrow, but wait, more sur-prizes are coming to Poptropica! (See what I did there?)

Poptropica has just announcedย via Twitterย and the Timmy Failure Island tour pageย that every Thursdayย starting August 6th, if you visit Main Street of Timmy Failure Islandย (until it releases to members onย September 17), youย can pick up a new prize each week!

70cae-timmyfailure

The Creators didn’t tell us any more about the new prizes,ย but I guess we’ll have to wait for it! I believe it’ll be like the giveaway the Creators did forย Virus Hunter Island in 2013.

UPDATE: Thanks to some special hax, HPuterpop managed to get the first prize before it was released! It’s a Seรฑor Burrito Follower, and it’ll be free for everyone, coming later today. Yes, your own pet cat!

UPDATE UPDATE: This was not this week’s intended prize – but you CAN redeem this follower with the promo code BURRITO! (UPDATE AGAIN: It’s been removed from the inventory.)

timmycat

Speaking of Timmy Failure Island, Early Access for members to play the newest island begins on Thursday, September 17! They’ll have a head start on the case!

The Creators also released the trailerย for Timmy Failure Island, plus a special video message fromย Stephan Pastis (the author of the Timmy Failure series!):

In other news, check out these recentย Daily Pop sneak peeksย involvingย Pelican Rock Prison,ย some license plates, city scenes, and some pipes:

Plus, congrats to the PHB for reaching 19 million hitsย on this site today, and thanks for coming to us for Poptropica news, cheats, and more!

That’s all of the updates for now!ย Leave a comment telling us what you think!

Arabian Nights Island, Reviews

PHB Review: Arabian Nights Island

arabiannights

Hey Poptropicans! Slippery Raptor and Slanted Fishย here.

Welcome to another PHB review! We last had Mystery of the Map (which was reviewed by HP & UiPE) but now, it’s time for Arabian Nights Islandย to be in the hot seat!

Warning: This review contains spoilers forย the island.

Also: check out the PHB’s Arabian Nights Island Guideย โ€”ย with pictures!

Episode 1: How Bazaar

ep1

Overall, thisย episode is pretty good.ย Let’s start with the soundtrack. The soundtrackย was very fitting, giving off a feel for Arabianย culture andย the grandiosity of their civilization.

Meanwhile, the story focused onย finding the Forty Thieves and putting a stop to theirย thievery. The hideout was done cleverly: it wasn’t the obvious cave, but something much more intriguing, with the “open sesame” scene at the end reminiscent ofย the beginning of Disney’sย Aladdin.

Some of our favorite moments include hanging around the palace while the guards were gossiping and then surprising them with a smoke bomb, and watching one of the thieves struggle to stealย the slow camel when trying to pull it into the hideout.

Moving onto the characters, they were creatively made to look like Arab people in the ancient times. In my opinion, the best one was the Sultan himself.ย The scenes, too, were really made well, especiallyย the bazaar scene. This also presentedย a nice challengeโ€” the cave maze and the trading. Smoke bombs added to the coolness factor, andย the animations โ€“ the curling smoke effects which were used throughout the island in different colors โ€“ were pretty neatย too.

Episode 2:ย Lair of Thieves

ep2

This episode was pretty cool!ย Let’s start with theย scenes, which were amazing. From the cells to the sanctum, everything was nice and detailed, particularly the treasure room.

Theย questย itself was just the right amount of challenging. PHB authorย Samwow5 pointed out in his review of this episodeย thatย he felt like he was a spy.ย A spyย indeed! Sneakingย around the thieves sure made us feel stealthy and cool. The crafting part was also a creative touch to the gameplay.

Seeingย the prisoner and later the Vizier disappear in a cloud of smoke for calling upon the wrong lampsย made for aย dark yet excellentย plot. The Vizier’s sacrifice tugged at our heartstrings, and we wonder whether the unfortunate characters wereย really killed off (it certainly seems so, which might be a Poptropica first) โ€“ thoughย thanks to the Sultan’s time reversal at the end of the third episode, the Vizier lived (though probably not as a high palace official).

The characters were great, too. The Master of Coinย (who looked like Binary Bard), master thief, and Brutus had amazing designs and details. Last but definitely notย least, the soundtrack was awesome. The spine-tingling feeling of the music made the episode even better.

Episodeย 3: Careful What You Wish For

ep3

Months before the release of this episode, PHB author Brave Tomatoย made a theory about the final episode โ€” and she turned out to be right!

Scheherazade’s character had great depth, from being a simpleย merchant’s daughter to becoming aย princess, which turned out pretty badly for her as her father, now a Sultan, barely paid her any attention. It didn’t end there: driven by her desire, she became the leader of the villainous Forty Thieves, and then,ย at the height of her criminal career, wished to be turned into a genie!

Out of the three episodes, this is ourย personal favorite. Why? Scenes were made very well and every inch of it isย very detailed.ย The spot-the-difference game was pretty challenging. This episode alsoย brought back the trading and crafting elements from the previous two episodes.

Samhal, too, was a comical character, with his mischievous wit coming into play at every corner. From makingย a woman who wished to be beautiful into a copy of himself, to turning the Master of Coin into a treasure chest because he wanted to hold all the wealth for himself, to having the recurring camel fall in love with a palace guard, it was hilarious to watch the story unfold.

The story was funny, but it alsoย left behindย a well-delivered cautionary tale against greed, especially as it wrapped up in the final, heartfelt scene with the Sultan and Scheherazade on the stone dais.

Plus, we loved the Aladdin references.

Thanks for reading our review of Arabian Nights Island! Overall, we’d rate it a 9.5/10.
